Micky white is for sure the biggest Vivaldi especialist. She did amazing discoveries and helped correcting many false assumptions and inaccurate facts. Her contribution to the biography of this beloved composer is unprecedent and of extreme importance.
I was this summer in Venice followed the step of Vivaldi's life. I visited the Giovanni Battista Church, the Pieta della Santa Maria Church, and all these houses he used to live.
Micky White is good. She is not a trained academic but makes up for that with her passion for discovering Antonio Vivaldi. Particularly, I'll always remember her pointing out (maybe in this video) what she thinks is a discreetly-placed image of Vivaldi among the ceiling artwork in the present church situated at the Pieta Orphanage (Ospedale della Pietà) in Venice.
What a great researcher! I can see that the informer loves Vivaldi a lot, Respectable! Yes, I am fall in love with Vivaldi's music too. So, I want to know his life and music. This one gives me the his real life time story excitedly. I will visit to his home town as soon as the Pandemic will be gone.
It is very exciting to run through again the various places in Venice where Vivaldi' genius spent the most part of his life and to hear from the accurate description of the facts by the great Micky White. It is too much appreciated Best regards Giacomo Zaccone
Thank the gods for this woman! She opened up the life of this man. If you watch the video, Vivaldi's Women, you'll find out that she could "smell" him in the documents. She's brilliant! I would love to work with her! She's amazing!
Great info and research, thanks for your time and effort. I have been to Venice a few times and in the very places you were in this too short documentary, and I love Vivaldi's music. I now live near Vienna, it is depressing such a genius came to a sad end here in Vienna - most great composers who ended up in Vienna did.
My question is this: is this a clip of a longer video of the same title or is there more? Well done by all involved. Extremely informative and entertaining.
We're glad that you enjoyed the clip. It is part of the Dutch/English documentary 'La Serenissima', which can be viewed here: ua-cam.com/video/Ff-9hRwtaAk/v-deo.html
8:41 I see those tourists and i say at least they know they are in the land of the great Vivaldi???? they know vivaldi or Albinoni??? the kid have Barcelona Shirt????
I would empty Mickey's chamber pot to work with her. Seriously. To have access to her knowledge of Vivaldi's life. I always wonder when I hear a oiece if music what was going in in the composer's life when the pieces were written. I'd love to links events his life with works he wrote during thise events like the death of his mother/father etc. I'd really love to do that with Bach but we know so little about his life.

Had he not survived those early days, what eternal beauty would we have never had the joy to experience.
I love Mickey Whites passion and knowledge!!!!!!
Outstanding exlanation on Vivaldi`s music. Thanks Micky White

Al final que importa si fue un libertino, su música es lo que más nos interesa.
@@Misyta37 en eso tienes razón, pero la mayoría de las personas están empeñadas en fijarse más en las cosas malas que de cosas buenas.
This film is a delight!
Glad to hear that!
you tell it so well, and understanding,,, brilliant... thank you so much...
Thank you Micky! You are a gift to the world. Rob Roy

Concerto for flautino in C major, RV 443 - 2nd movement
Cheers for the info!
What is the music that begin in 2'25 and along the minute 3' while she is in the restaurant in the square? Help
Sounds like RV558. Concerto per molti strumenti

Interesting little film, but strange that most of the musical excerpts are old fashioned modern instrument recordings.
Who wants scratchy sounds and meow-meowing violins?
