Wellesz was an authentic harnonist and melodist who composed at a time when he was challenged both by Debussy and Schoenberg. He is almost forgotten nowadays. That is a pity indeed.

Here is a very beautiful and touching piece written in a rather impressionist style by a composer who will still write after 1950. His technique belongs to the extended tonality, in which the tonal roots are very clear. Wellesz deserves to be better known. All his music which I heard has this half tone poetry.

Echt bewundernswert!

When I listened to this piece first time, I was moved and impressed! But the next time, when I listened to the later symphonies of Wellesz, I was surprised in other means!

Merci. J'aurais mieux regardé, j'aurais pu le lire. Merci.
