When you painted over her face I almost died 😱
It turned out so beautifully though - watching you slowly bring each feature to life through those tiny little brush strokes is mesmerizing. Loved the video and hearing your thoughts on this. You're inspiring me as an artist. 😊

This is my all time absolute 100% favorite of all of your paintings. Just LOVE it. My heart dropped into my stomach though, when you suddenly started re-doing the face. I love how you individualize your coaching of us, and give us both the permission to find the art we really like and the empowerment to believe that our art, some day, will fit in with those we aspire to do!

I just saw your "quitting my job to work as a full time artist" and saw it was feb of 2020 so I'm so glad you had a follow up after this tough year! Love your voiceovers, so inspiring

As an artist who's passionate about en plein air, I struggled with that same idea, what would make a good subject, what excites me,- for a long time i felt that i was in just in an uninspiring environment- then I learned that I live in an area that have birth to many famous landscape painters- what did they see that I did not? N then it occurred to me it's all about the LIGHT. As Plato said- "it is beauty I seek, not beautiful things". Which is also as Barbara Von Seida would say- "painting is giving birth to something that is just coming about- that had not existed before and it says Hello- I am born"

There are so darn many layers to this creation! I wish I could ask you questions as you're painting.. so many times I wanted to say it's done but you went on, more layers, changing and filling in more.. I don't paint ... Yet.. but I don't understand it.. you're very good..

Painting is all about patience and understanding your elements of art (values, proportions, color theory, etc). She kept added layers to modify the color hue of the skin, values of the shadows, and so on. Painting will always be about layers because if you mess up, just paint over it!

I wonder Chelsea how long you develop your discipline if this is not a gift; I know there's a lot of them if we want to become one that can execute and finished it like you do. You are most beautiful with your art, how I wish I could do the same for there is joy in doing things like painting and portraiture. Your vlogs are amazing and inspirational, I almost believe that I can do it too. Thank you for sharing I'm always drawn to viewing your channels videos.

Love watching this unfold and seeing the work of fixing things as you go, very well done. I am also excited to see how your paintings unfold in coming videos. :)

For me what I would like to see in some videos is just watching you paint and if you have an epiphany then go over it and all, but there are quite a few tutorial channels out there now but i just love the sounds of painting and watching something unfold, but that is just me :) Thanks again!

On my IPad right now listening to your video while I paint, so I may leave an additional comment later. I just had to say I am so interested and intrigued by your new focus and I actually think it might help me, an older self-taught acrylic painter who has been trying on and off for some 8+ years to paint with any kind of consistency, improve my skills in a more focused way and decide on some specific projects so that I can actually try more finished paintings rather than just studies all the time. I do have an idea for a project but would love to find additional help or a community or anything that might help with inspiration and encouragement. Also I should mention I believe I found your channel because it was suggested by Chris Fornataro at The Paint Coach channel. :)

I notice you use a technique that I used to. You use solvent to move, or draw color off the surface, leaving a white canvas that can receive a new stroke of paint without making mud. I have painted for a long time using mineral spirits that way but have developed allergy to those solvents in the air. Any Alternative ways to do that technique?

I am a pastel artist I love doing people and pet portraits (I can do photo-real but prefer to have a more painterly look). I would love to do my art full time and not go to the job that I dread every day. I do have my finances in order, I just am not sure where or how to generate income that is not so sporadic, and enough to pay my bills. I would love to have any advice that you can give, to help me get to the point that I can wake up and do what I love instead of this horrible, mind-draining, soul-sucking job that I currently have.
