    Really glad that you guys are using the realistic route instead of adding some fancy effects because of some cry babies ;)

    Man Aris. I'm one of those who never messes with setup b/c I don't understand it. Your explanations are so freaking good. Thank you. I'm going to be listening to the TL;DW more than once.

    I now understand how physics will be programmed in Kunos. Aris has a hammer, a model of a typewriter and an office chair. I'm joking. Google translation.
    I am very glad that there is such a game. thank you for the video Aris

    Hey Aris, just watched this video again. Awesome job with your channel mate 👌🏽👏🏽Do you think that maybe you could do another similar video to this where you start with a terrible setup and teach us how to search for and find that operational window using data/telemetry in Motec?

    Thanks for the detailed information but you didn't really explain how/when it should be used. Like when would I chose to adjust it from stock? How can I tell if adjusting caster is the best thing instead of just adjusting camber or roll bars etc?

    So a tick or two up on caster to improve stability from default aggressive? But otherwise no huge gains to be made from adjusting this setting alone?

    Quick Q - amazing videos. Another question tho... I am on OC. Thrustmaster 300 RS (soon to be Fanatec club sport). I’d really love to know whether we need to leave steering angle on default settings (1080?) abs the sim automatically adjusts ? Because it seems cars are just way difficult to drive.

    • @ArisDrives
      @ArisDrives  3 роки тому

      On PC use 900 or 1080 on the steering wheel as well on the ingame controls options. Make sure it is the same.
      You can easily double check by going ingame in the cockpit view, turn your steering wheel at 90 degrees and your virtual steering wheel should also be at the same rotation.

      @mark_lhr3 3 роки тому

      @@ArisDrives thank you! And the sim will automatically adjust the steering angle to the car? As I find it far easier with a lower angle, eg Ferrari. Ps many bugs on pc when FFB changes. Often have to restart game.

    So what happens if you put caster on max degree? He never showed that.

    • @chuckystang
      @chuckystang 3 роки тому

      To me just seems to add more weight to the wheel and resistance. Pro tip- If you find that in tight hairpins your wheel gets too light and difficult to feel oversteer exiting said hairpin, tune caster up a bit and problem solved. I found this effective in Rfactor2 and same applies here. He did mention you could turn up your FFB but if you don't want to do that just increase caster.

    I know its not related to this video. but are you guys ever going to fix the crash behavior of the cars where they almost 100 percent nose into the wall? It seems like the physics ignores velocity vectors and models the sliding tires laterally having way more forward vector than it should. A sliding tire 90 degrees to the velocity vector should have almost no forward vector added but the AC model slams the car headfirst into the wall instead of spinning on the track. I saw your graph the other day of the grip curve but the curve didn't look intuitive to me after around 15 degrees since it looked like the tire should still be able to hold most of its vector where you'd expect a massive drop off, so maybe the answer is in that curve. A quote I remember from a book I read a long time ago said, "a sliding tire has no directional integrity". It looks really unnatural on replays too. Another minor annoyance is low speed cars behavior trying to get out of the grass after one of these 100g headfirst slams into the wall. Theres an unnatural turning radius and no control or the car spins out into the middle of the track. No complaints otherwise! Got my first podium today...

      Not really sure I understood what you're talking about. Also it's not related on this video so... uhm...
      My grip graph was a lateral graph, not a combined graph. I also think you might have some confusion about how lateral and longitudinal grip is created and how it is combined. For sure we cannot base our discussion in some unknown book you read a long time a go with some generic quote without context, I'm sure you agree.
      The grass has extremely low grip and the cars do not engage TC until up to 35-50kmh (depending on car). If you're not careful, you arrive easily at 30-40kmh... then you spin. People think it's too slow speed, but it's not.

      @@ArisDrives I think I'm over my head. I didn't want to criticize the title. I love ACC. I did the hot stint on a drying track the other day and was amazed at the changing car behavior.
      Maybe my 2 pedal set up doesn't let me control the car mid spin or has extra trouble hooking up in the grass? The book quote was just saying a sliding tire will follow the velocity vector regardless of the tire orientation which is how I understood it. The best bet I have on stopping a spin in ACC is to stomp on the brakes. In other sims, I was able to control the spin through steering and acceleration inputs using the cars rotational momentum.
      Anyway, great job with the title and the videos! The racing is amazing and the set up tips really helped me this weekend. I'll try not to spin...

    The ferrari IMO needs more caster, otherwise the front wheels seem to fall over themselves too easily pronouncing that dreaded understeer effect through your sim wheel unless of course you like that sort of thing
