Kingdom Come Deliverance: The combat in this game sucks

I can't fuckin' stand this game. Riddled with bugs and a terrible save system, so if something happens and you haven't been able to save - good bye how ever much gameplay you just did between saves. I'm sure the bugs will be fixed soon. The combat system is horrendous. Everyone is a leet bad ass swordsman and parries almost all of your attacks. If you get too close, the AI will auto grapple with you. The Executioner grabbed and kneed me 7 times back to back to back, and he dodged or parried every attack I threw at him. Combat is clunky and slow; it either takes a year to swing, or you just don't swing at all (bug). 10 reloads to try and persuade him, and they failed every time, which results in brawling with the Executioner over and over. I even said "Fuck it," snuck up behind him and beat the piss out of him with a sword while he has NO ARMOR. Hit him 6 times before he finally pulled out his sword. After 10 minutes of dodging / blocking his attacks and smashing him another 10 times or so, I CTRL+ALT+DEL and closed the game. I wasn't aware I was using a fuckin' rubber sword and the dude was immortal. Oh, and replay value on this game is shit, because even if you DO decide to play through the game again and do things differently, you have to endure the 2 - 4 hour tutorial BS. The graphics are amazing, but the gameplay is dull, boring, tedious, broken, and the voice acting / character animations are awful. $60 wasted.

Because you suck at the game. Stamina is a key stat you can learn perfect block and then you can learn master strikes

Red man I gave the game about a seven and half out of ten lol not really a,total fan boy. How about don't replay to two months old post. One stamina is key and perfect blocks and master strikes don't take up any stamina which you can increase in the game. I have said and will always say it's not perfect the combat is based on real historical sword fighting. I do hema which the combat is based on the person I replied to sucks at the game it's rpg that's has skills attached to it can't block practice get good you know how games force you get get better if you wanted to get to the next level. But once again in most of my reviews when someone asked me what I thought of the game I never gave it over a 8 because of the bugs now if you don't have a good computer then maybe you should not be playing this game or buy it on a console the ps4 runs well since the from the ashes dlc came out.

I've seen you defending this game in every single video criticizing it so don't tell me you're not a fan boy! I have this game on ps4 and it's almost unplayable, from awful textures to trees and npcs popping out of nowhere, horrible and unresponsive combat system, very bad AI and optimization plus the glitches and bugs! The only good thing about this game is the voice acting and the open world design wich feels empty btw and the fact that they charged 60 fucking € for this mess is a joke!

Well I played on ps4 there were some issues and by the way dumbass and you are a dumbass you could have waited until the reviews were out and many reviewers said it was full of issues by way I asked if you were going to insult someone be somewhat clever about it. It's not perfect but I was comparing this game to graphics of the witcher a game which was delayed several months and fill of big s but,that game got perfect score event though there were Corrupt save file in the witcher. Now I have told people this game has some issues I have also said stuff like learn how to play the game because most of things in the game are skilled based. By the way the game has gotten better because I played since day one and most of bugs have been fixed but you could have waited until the bugs have gotten fix hell you could have waited until the game of year version came out. You might not know this but the first witcher get was a buggy mess with game breaking bugs and talking about bugs that effect your story line. Here is a free tip since I am a nice guy don't buy new single player only games until reviews are out and many people said if you can overlook some of the graphics flaws and some technical issues then you got a fun somewhat hard game. I gave the story line like nine out of ten I gave the combat like a nine out pf ten . I gave the graphics when they are working without any issues like eight out of ten but I drop that down to a seven because of the pop ups issues. I give the game a seven and half out ten because of bugs and things like that. I give this developer more slack because thought most of the development they had a small budget if they had the budget and the staff of the wticher I would not give the game a seven or a eight because of the bugs.
Don't be mad it's not my fault your poor have a good day or not i don't care either way :)

Worst part is the intro to the game before it releases you into the world is like 1,5 hours long so it's difficult to experience the actual game in 30 minutes. 2 hours you can play and be able to refund on steam. I refunded and now I'm waiting for Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord. Gonna be WAAAAAY better.

dD Lithuania I choose my games very carefully, last time I bought a game was like 6-7 months ago. And I know what I like and don't like.
I played Elder Scrolls games, Witcher series, Mount & Blade games. RPG is my go-to genre.
This game had a terrible first impression. Played through it. Story was catching but not amazing. Game is very clunky, and by that I don't mean just combat. And what a moneygrabbing ending don't you think?

fuck this game i am 45 hours in now and you simply cant win a 2 vs 1 swordfight they come at you at the same time and pound the shit out of you while the worst part is you can only focus on 1 guy at a time that basically means the other guy has free reign to fuck you up which ever way he wants and there is little you can do about it because the guy your are actually fighting drains you stamina quickly because you have to block and counter attack
unless you detour 40 minutes to sneak to their camp at night and try to poison their food or kill them in their sleep (which needlessly hard )
if you decide to buy this game (which i cant recommend) prepare to die alot and i do mean alot !

It's amazing you land the first punch on him. For me, he blocks every single hit and I can't parry any of his. Refunded the game immediately after this fight.

Yeah, but you have to love all the fan boys sucking off Warhorse screaming that the combat is great, you just have to practice. No, it isn't great. You can max out your character's stats, practice all day and the combat is still a shitty setup that has no basis in reality at all. In single player combat, it's boring as hell. Stand in one place and then master strike. But add in one more enemy and that's it. The game doesn't let you look around in combat so you get beat on from behind. It forces you to lock on in combat rather than giving you the option to choose to lock on. You cannot run away unless you have a horse because every character in the game has more speed than a max stat player. It's just easier to stand there in full plate armor shooting people in the face with arrows because there's no lock on feature with the bow. That's not realism, that's bad game design.

I...partially agree? The hand-to-hand combat isn't great, and clinch master just lets you head slam people until they keel over, but weapon combat is amazing.

The game is very light on telling you what you are actually supposed to be doing, and what the UI elements mean. I tried blocking in other attempts but it didn't seem to really achieve anything. I eventually figured out that there is a circle thing around the star thing when you are "locked on", but it didn't tell me that anywhere, not in the swordplay bit either. I've refunded the game now anyway, it was some of the least interesting gameplay I've experienced in years.

I tried that first fight 3 times, first two times I varied my attacks and tried to use block it seemed like you had to be holding block before he attacks. the third time I just tapped quick punch 3 times then backed up til my stamina refilled and repeated, won easy. then I got a refund for this piece of shit.

It's a 1v1 system and the game regularly throws bandits and other vermin at you in half a dozen or more at a time it's not fun or intuitive just clunky and annoying and the fact that they can just deplete your stamina and health in a few seconds because their attacks overlap often also the screen going red whenever you need to see the most and not letting you see shit is unnecessary I'm level 20 character I know to just spam ranged attacks and wear full plate but starting out boi it was the aids

It's not realistic at all but they think it is which ruins the gameplay element. They didn't put enough effort into the combat to actually get a realistic and engaging system but in trying to do so, they failed at creating a fun and engaging gameplay mechanic. The combat gets so tedious and repetitive in this game. If they're not wearing armor, kill them by button mashing. If they are wearing armor kill them by waiting for a master strike "quick time" event. The actual directional combat, feints, combos and such simply don't work and drag out an already boring combat system.
