I just had to remove mine two days ago while stuck closed. I just removed the 10mm bolt for the pull down handle, grabbed the panel by that square hole and gave it a firm tug. It popped the passenger side loose than the rest came off easy. No pry tools required, just the 10mm to access the hatch internals.
I wasn't sure what was wrong with mine. When I bought it the dude just put a rope on it and tired it off. So I can just pull it up but I have to lower the window. I hope this is the issue. Thanks timmay!!
I don't remember any adjustment for the rear window. There might be something wrong with the window guide or linkage that moves the window up and down. This video might help you out: ua-cam.com/video/l2cGx0DKhdc/v-deo.htmlsi=MfnW2bQ08yjhc2-x
This problem has been on going with my third gen! I've messed with it a couple of times but been tricky because the rear handle is broken and think that's part of my problem! Mine is a limited edition so it has all kinds of crap in thery
I don't think the limited edition has anything extra that the other models don't have in the rear hatch. You should watch this video to show you how to take it all apart and replace that handle. ua-cam.com/video/UDDaavQUU54/v-deo.htmlsi=L5M4OgZRUHgSjfK1
Normally your videos are so informative and instructive but you didn't show how to remove the inside panel to do this for some reason. I'm guessing it's obvious once you get in the back and look at it but...
It was a spur of the moment decision film when we saw the opportunity. It wasn't a planned video. The video we link in the video description shows you how the plastic trim piece affixes to the door with clips. Someone also mentioned you can remove the strap grab handle and then get your fingers in there so you can pull back and start freeing the clips. I'm confident that with all that information, you can figure it out.
@@TimmyTheToolman I'm sure I can too. I'll check it out the next time I lift the back hatch. The lack of video was just noteworthy. I absolutely respect your time and attention to detail in your videos. They've helped me several times in the past.
@SW-Video I like your comment because it supports the way we make videos. This one was an exception to the rule. Our videos are usually heavy on detail. But, some people hate us for the excessive detail we offer. The end result is we can't please everyone.

With this video and the other one we linked, you'll be able to access the rear hatch components and figure out the problem. Good luck!
@@TimmyTheToolman do you have a video on how to remove the license plate bezel by chance?
Hi Timmy, is there a way to adjust the rear window or other windows in the 3rd gen 4runner? Mine kinda have a slight wiggle

I had this problem when I had my 3rd Gen, and wrapped a zip tie around it to hold it in place.
I hate it when that malfunction happens, thanks for the video ❤
You're welcome.
