- Led by James Harden’s 42 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists, including the go-ahead three with 19.0 seconds remaining in overtime, the No. 3 seed Philadelphia 76ers defeated the No. 2 seed Boston Celtics in Game 4, 116-115. Joel Embiid added 34 points and 13 rebounds for the 76ers in the victory, while Jayson Tatum tallied 24 points, 6 assists, 4 blocks and a career-high 18 rebounds for the Celtics. This best-of-seven series is now tied, 2-2, with Game 5 taking place on Tuesday, May 9 (7:30 p.m. ET, TNT).
James Harden joins Allen Iverson (3x) as the only players in 76ers franchise history to score 40+ points in multiple games of a Playoff series.
With his 47th career 30+ point Playoff game tonight, James Harden has passed Dirk Nowitzki for the 12th most such games in NBA history.

Harden for the 2nd time in this series came up big when Philly needed it the most, the former NBA MVP with 42 8 and 9 assists, gotta do it consistently for this team to win this, Houston James Harden was ACTIVATED once again
But if you notice the flow, Houston Harden has a 50/50 chance of appearing every two days.
Meaning if he doesn’t appear and the rest of the team falls flat, Celtics will win the next two.

I have no great love for Harden but, sometimes, he can be a very entertaining player (annnnnnd also one of the best closers in the game).

Boston needs to get their offense going around 5 seconds earlier than what they did on that last possession. If you leave Philly 8 seconds to work with you live with it, if it’s a tie game that’s different but give yourself a chance at a rebound putback or the chance to foul and get another possession when your down.
Yea, that last possession was a failure by the whole Boston coaching staff. Looked like they still had two time outs to work with, why not use one and set something up. Boston still got a good look, but like you said took too long and it cost them.
Refs tried their hardest to get the Celtics to win but harden shut them up

People love to say Harden can’t (or won’t) play D. Check out 1:20. He forced a loose ball, dove on the court, and got it to a teammate. Do his close outs leave a bit to be desired? Sure but he can give you effort.

It's a very small ask to take it out of the thumbnail and requires no additional cost or time for staff. As a fan, I'd assume most people when they see the caption "crazy ending" want to watch the clip without knowing who won so they can be in suspense as if it were live. If you watch a movie trailer would you want to see the final plot twist revealed first? Didn't think so

@@redman6790 I am a fan of Philly and as happy as I can be for the win, I can tell you that I would feel much safer in the shoes of a Boston fan. To me, the Celtics seem decidedly superior and are heavily favored, they have better players and a fluid game.
I saw this live and although I was disappointed by the result, it was still an incredible game and didn’t shake my confidence in the C’s ability to eventually close out the 76ers.

sometimes you just let them play rather than risk an inbound violation specially with that much time remaining. most only call timeout for a play if there's like 5secs or less remaining

@@Eythora94 it depends to the coach wether if he wants to call for a timeout or not, you're right sometimes you just let them play and trying to avoid inbound violations, though there are some coaches that instead of letting their players to make their own play they want to make sure that they call for a timeout to make it clear to the team that here's the play that we are gonna do, reminding their boys tha we only have this time, making sure that the ball will be inbound successfully, in basketball or any sports it happens even veteran coaches sometimes they make wrong decisions but a good coach will stand on his feet no matter what
I mean both closing shots by the celtics are Tatum driving into kicking out to Smart, whom Im not so sure everyone wants to be the one to take on that kind of responsibility. But maybe if that’s what the coach wants, who am I to judge

MVP Embiid has to become a monster in Game 5 or it's over for them. Maxxey needs to step on the gas too. They can't slow down the pace because that's when Boston strikes hard.

Now this is clear as clean water. 76ers changes depend on Harden he has demostrated in this series that when he plays confident, he is that dude. I just hope he continue to play freely because as good as Embiid is, now we know what Boston defense can do on him with the double team and with Maxey at the ring.
To me Boston is the best team in this year playoffs and we are looking at them eyes to eyes. So, the winner of this series can easily be the NBA Champions.
a lot depends on the health of Embid, he looked hurt and tired here. Philly have to find a way to have Harden free to shoot but not pressured to shoot like in Houston where he has to score min 36 or they lose.
