I live in Alberta. I look after my mom, who, at age of 86, has paid her fair share of taxes etc throughout her life. She recently received a notice from the CRA, stating her rebate amount from the carbon tax is $990. I looked through her bills and as of the end of June, she has already paid $913 in carbon tax. So, with half a year to go, she will be paying way more than she gets back. The government says 8/10 will be better in monetary gains. So seniors are the 2/10 that will pay double???? Something doesn't sit right about that
