I think I'll wait until mid spring, using the dead cuttings as a mulch which gets reabsorbed into the soil.
That’s a good idea Barrios. I always cut now as if you leave it too long with grass and herbaceous the new growth starts to get hacked with the chop too! Depends on where you are and the climate you’re dealing with. 🥷🤘🌿 Happy gardening!

Great prompting, Lee, I must get out there and get tidying up. I planted a small Potentilla shrub last year, and it's about 2' high, will it benefit from pruning this year, and if so, is this the time of year to do it, cheers James
Hi James. I love Potentillas. They need very little pruning to be honest. I usually just take off the tips which can get a little wind burnt in the winter. Hope that helps! 🥷🤘🌿

What a great looking plant, you say alkali. I assume london being all on clay means they may not work well here. Possibly why I haven't seen one
My viburnum has gone mad over the past year and its flowering right now. Can I give it a big cut back or nah?

Hi Jay. If it’s flowering then no. Leave it. Let it finish. When the flowers are spent in say March or April give it a trim with some secateurs to give it a nice relaxed shape. Try and avoid the blobby egg shapes! 😉🥷🤘🌿

Ferns grow like weeds in my garden. What is the best way to get rid of the ones I don't want? I am unable to dig them up.
Aww we’ll digging them up is the only way. Chemicals will be a waste of time and super harmful to the rest of the garden. Maybe just go with them or add some competing plants! 🥷🤘🌿
