Love your moon garden and the borrowed view. Are you going to plant anything on it? Agree with you about enjoying the garden and all the animals and wildlife it holds.
Hi Becky. No I’m going to leave it exposed as I like the way the shrub layer has merged with it now. I feel it would get lost if I grew things up it! 🥷🌿
Your garden looks amazing as ever. Every month I learn so much from you. The wild flower meadow has really come into its own. I haven’t had the time to weed our garden recently and I do miss it. Thanks to all your advice our gardens have never looked better. Being your little helper at the RHS BBC Community Garden at Tatton Flower Show was the highlight of my summer. To spend 4 days helping our son and watching his brilliant design ideas shape was an amazing treat. Like you I get so much enjoyment and pleasure from gardening and it is such a tonic. We are so very proud of all your achievements. Mum and Dad 🥰🤗💙
Hello Lee, what a wonderful moody gothic border. I'm still working at the start of my gothic garden with a bit of Moon Garden in it. Having loads of ideas and getting more confident, but I'm taking my time. One thing I have to learn still, is to be patient :-) . I've spoken to a few neighbours who are keen gardeners, for advice and this resulted in a fantastic exchange. I had a few plants and flowers from the previous owner in my garden, which I really don't, as they are too 'cute' for my scheme and we came up with plant-swapping. That way the plants have now found new homes, which is great for our budgets and I have met a few neighbours. Right, there's a gap in the clouds, so I have to go out and clear the flowerbed from last large weeds, then keep on top of it, until I can place the varieties of black tulips in a few weeks.
It’s hard Libelle! Patience is the gardeners final friend to the party. But wait for her as she’s a hoot!! Sounds like you’re making fantastic strides and it will all be worth it!! 🥷🌿🤘
@@j.m.7056 It's wonderful! We moved into this neighbourhood just before the lockdown and never got a chance to meet anyone. All we could do is walk our little dog and admire people's gardens. My husband and I never had a chance to do much gardening, as he was a serving soldier for over 20 years. We really do appreciate their advice and the plant-swapping is amazing. We would have felt so guilty to remove a pink Echinacea, just because her colour doesn't fit into our scheme. Now it has a new home and we got a very dark Buddleia in return. One, age-wise a little advanced, neighbour is planning to plant a rather long hedge this autumn, so my husband offered to take over 'digging the trench' :-) and in return we get the hedging plants that are left over and with them hubby is planning to do a bit topiary. Gardening is indeed a great way for good neighbourly relations. A small area we have left for a small meadow and I've painted a sign with the words "Pit-Stop for (image of a happy Bee)" :-) And Lee's channel is a treasure trove and a God-Sent for us :-)
Thanks so much! The moongate gardens tiny at 4m by 2m! So size really doesn’t matter and I’m sure your plots looking wonderful at this time of year! Lee 🥷🌿
Hi Genevieve! Awww thanks so much. I’ve always gardened since I was a child but only switched careers in the past decade to a garden designer after much training and studying my horticulture exams. The rest Is history!! Enjoy the videos! Lee 🥷🌿🤘
Great upload and excellent gardening tips. Love the wildflower meadow layout and planting idea👍. Your video gave me some inspiration to tackle the wildflower meadow project I have in mind for our property once our house is built hopefully by the end of the year🙂. Big like. Subbed!
Thanks so much Easy Hikes! Great to hear from you. Do let me know how you get on with your wildflower meadow. They’re wonderfully fuss feee additions to any garden! Happy gardening. Lee 🥷🌿🤘
Lee, your garden is looking so different now compared to 2016! One thing I will comment on though is your reference to the yellow daisy like Ragwort. A friend nearly lost her horse a few years ago because of Ragwort poisoning - her little mare sustained long term liver damage from eating hay with Ragwort in it, and only survived because of prompt (and very expensive attention from the vet). Not sure if you have wheat or hay making fields behind you, but as seeds spread easily it's something to be aware of.
Hi Laurel. Great to hear from you. Yes a few people have queried why I’ve kept the ragwort given it can cause issues in cattle if eaten when dry usually by accident. I’m going to address this in the next vid but to reassure someone this month just before it went to seed I’ve removed all the seed heads (it took half a day!). As they are biennial this will prevent them spreading and also means they will diminish over time. There’s no hay or cattle only turf fields next door. It’s a good question though and I’m glad the Ninja army have asked for more clarity!! Super helpful so thanks everyone! Happy gardening. Lee 🥷🌿
Hi Ally. Echinacea are full sun loving plants. You shouldn’t need to fertilise them if you have decent soil to begin with. Most herbaceous plants don’t require feed. Just ensure it’s well watered this year whilst it establishes and cut it back during winter to just above the ground. Search for my herbaceous pruning guide on UA-cam if unsure. Happy gardening! 🥷🌿
Hi there could you please tell me what I should do with the dead flower on my cordyline, I know you're busy so no probs if you don't have time to answer ,,
Hi Shirleen. Once the flowers have dried up you can cut them off. Use a sharp knife rather than secateurs which can tear their strap like leaves. Hope that helps! Happy gardening. Lee 🥷🌿
Such joy seeing the progression of both your amazing home garden and your career Lee! Loving all the neat tips and tricks as always. That moongate has aged so beautifully and its garden is simply breathtaking. Thanks so much for sharing!😎😎👍🏾💯
Thanks AJ. It’s been a mad month work wise all good though! The gardens really settling in now which is lovely. There’s far less weeding which is also a bonus!! Thanks for your kind words and take care! 🥷🌿🤘
Wow the meadow is doing so well! And the moon gate garden is really coming into its own too. Thanks for sharing and reminding is to take time to enjoy our gardens!
I could spend hours adventuring through that beautiful garden! I did sow some wildflowers and I have to say there have been times during this spring and summer that the wildflowers outshined the rest of my garden. These gorgeous poppies and a wildflower I'd never heard of called , Farewell To Spring. I'm now collecting seeds for next year. I love love love how much joy you have for gardening!
Everything is so beautiful. Thanks for the tour and inspiration. Now to get out to my garden for a bit (it's so smoky, we're not supposed to be outside for long.)
It must be rewarding to see how your plan from years ago is coming together for real. Is everything in your video grown from seed yourself, or bought elsewhere?
So beautiful! I am struggling for colour late July and August. Just can't balance it. Could you lust the plants in the Moon Gate area please and I will see if local garden has any. Many thanks. Would love you to do some magic in my garden.

Hi Heather. Lift and replant the corms deeper in the soil or use metal u shaped hoops at the base. Happy gardening! 🥷🌿🤘
Thanx so much for the advice xx🌻
Thank you Lee. I really appreciate your excellent advice on "gap" plants. Your gardens are ART! Have a good summer, DA (Vancouver, WA)
