Hi in this video I will show you the easier and faster way to change your 2008 toyota highlander serpentine belt I believe this will work on 2008-2016 3.5 engine
Swish! After looking at your video half a dozen times, I gained the confidence to change the belt on my 2011. Much easier than I expected. Thanks for the nice video and instructions. BTW, this was the OEM belt I changed at over 232,000 miles!
I’d turn on the engine and see how it goes before I put the mud cover back on. Anyway, this is practically a very good video !! Giving a thumbs up !! I think I learned how to do it on my 2015 Highlander. It’s pretty much the same. Well, to me, how to change the belt is not a problem. The problem I have is how to get in there. This video showed everything. Again, giving it a thumbs up 👍!! Thanks !!
YOU ROCK!!! Thanks! Gonna go try this tomorrow when I swap out my dead alternator (2012 Highlander). Update 9/11/2021: IT WORKED! Didn't have to take out more than I should like other videos! Got the alternator replaced and replaced the belt while I was in there as I have 140K on mine.
This is absolutely a great video !!! Free learning !!! I know some about the job but not completely, especially the part how to reach is the most difficult one. Now I can do it myself with confidence. Thank you 🙏 !!!
Very easy indeed, thank you. Good idea to remove the 2 tensioner pulleys and put some fresh grease after removing the plastic dust covers off the bearings. (Leaver off with a pointy safety needle)
As usual, older stuff is so much simpler- in this case V-belts, but you have a great explanation. I like that little bolt trick to keep slack on the belt. I thought you were bleeding but it’s the texture of the gloves. I assumed that much blood meant this job was going to be interesting!
Hmm...no replacing the tensioner or the water pump? Maybe that engine is on its last legs....by the looks of all the oil leaks from the seals it looks that way. Often, a car will be purchased for cheap and then you replace just the belt so that the NEW buyer doesn't hear any noise.
I appreciated how you showed in the video yourself thinking to make sure you were putting it on correctly. Just like real life. 😊
Great video! Just wanted to add that it’s not too bad if you just turn the wheels to the right and work behind the wheel. Only took 20 minutes. Thx
okay, that’s good news because I don’t wanna take it off.
Phew. Thanks. I was debating on buying the whole jack stand he has and go the whole nine yards. 😅

Is there a way to adjust the tension? Mine is squealing.
No you need a new one
@@nestorautorepair May not - probably don’t - just replace the pulleys first. Much easier and will solve squeak majority if the time
Ok
I’d cut that old belt and rip it out. 🧐
Do anyone know if it’s the same on a 2017 Highlander? I can’t find any videos
I'm sure it will be the same yes
boom
Ok
👍
Thanks boss
