Beautiful video footage and photos you captured of Japan with the 70-200! I don't currently own a 70-200, but I hope to own one soon! My current favorite travel lens is the 24-70 because of its versatility. Great video!
I loved my Tamron 20-40mm 2.8! It served as my vlogging and slight portrait lens. I used it for both photography and videos! I dabble a bit with the Tamron 35-150mm 2-2.8 and it was FANTASTIC (but expensive) for photography. IT WAS SO HEAVY but small for what it was! It essentially replaced my 24-70mm AND my 70-200 2.8 lens. I would nominate it my favorite lens of my entire creative career since I just had to carry one lens. The versatility and quality is out of this world! That being said at the moment, my favorite travel lens would have to be the Tamron 28-200mm 2.8-5.6! It is light weight for a super zoom and since I am always outside, the variable aperture wasn't really an issue! Super budget friendly for Sony full frame!
Hello Lin, thanks for you Video. I feel mostly same... but this Holiday i use my new RF135 F1.8 on the Streets... it was amazing.... Thanks for your cool Content.
I think the 16mm f2.8 for vlogging, the very small 28mm f2.8 for easy carry and the small 50mm 1.8 will work well with your 70-200 f4 and still fit in a very small bag, especially if you know what to leave behind based on your daily travel event(s). The 35mm 1.8 would be my choice if I were bringing only one lens, which I never do.
I'm making a camera bag video right now and it's basically this 😂 35mm used to be my favorite lens, and it would be the one lens I bring too but not sure why that is lol!
I have the Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 G2. It's equivalent to the L series and that boy is heavy but the images are on par with the RF version. I also have the RF 24-70 and I must admit it is very heavy but the images are beautifully sharp especially wide open.
My favorite lens for travel are 24-70mm f2.8 GMii and 70-200 f2.8 GMii. Will also bring along a 35mm prime if I need to shoot heavily at night or an ultra wide lens/ 2x teleconverter if I need extra reach. By the way Demon Slayer🤘
Thanks for including examples and touching on topics such as the comfort of carrying the lens around. That was a big part of my decision to purchase the lens, the size and portability. If I was set up in a static location I wouldn't mind a bulky lens but when moving around bulky and heavy become a hassle real quick. I was planning on using the 70-200 as my daytime travel lens and I have a 14mm lens for nightscapes/landscapes.
#1 reason is the price 😂😂 The f2.8 is an investment!! But the F4 is definitely much smaller and better for traveling (#2). But if I'm just shooting portraits on one location, the 2.8 would be so sweeeet 🥲
great video and love the photos posted, they all look amazing. I was really thinking hard about getting this lens. i have an asia trip next year so thanks for this video for a different perspective. i was wondering if it was too heavy to carry around but you answered it when you mentioned you kept the 24-70 behind and only carried one lens. thanks and awesome channel!
I use the RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM Lens about 75% of the time. I won't use my L lenses unless I know I want some really good photos. Like the other night I had to take some night shots and the RF 70-200 F4 was perfect. Looks like the price on the 24-240 just went up $100.
Lol I feel like we're twins in thinking about the same RF lenses. I've had my eye on the 24mm f1.8 too. I took my 16mm f2.8 and 35mm f1.8 on my trip to Scotland and wish I had something in between (without getting the heavy 15-35mm f2.8). I am considering the 70-200 f4 as well. I might get it used if I can find it 😅
24mm is good. You should get it 🤭🤣 Getting used lens is a great idea. I kinda wish i got the 24-70mm used. It's such a big investment that I feel like I can't say anything bad about it lol
Just lately I find myself do not like 24-70 this focal length and I come across your video in 2024. I have decided to sell my Sigma 24-70 f2.8 and get my Sony 70-200 f2.8 GM II.
:O Gasp! Honestly, the 24-70mm is still my most used lens. It's most versatile for most of the paid shoots I did this year but it might be because i have the 70-200 F4. The F4 is not enough for a lot of indoor shooting I had to do :( I'M ENVIOUS! But if possible you should keep both!! 😝
I took the 70-200mm f4 to Japan recently. I totally regretted it! Try getting close to your subject without lots of people passing in between! Great for animals though. Indispensable on a recent African Safari for large mammals useless for Birds Do yourself a favour and take the 24-105 instead and 35mm for street photography
What is your favorite lens to travel with? 😄
I can't believe I haven't uploaded for 4 weeks...😭
Right now my EF 24-105 F/4 is the one I take traveling along with my RF 50mm F/1.8
RF24-240 and speedlite el-5 and peakdesign tripod is my first favorite set 😄
debating on that lense. Why people say its horrible and vingentting bad at 24mm @ccming

wow 28-200mm sounds like a dream :O The benefits of using sony cameras...!!!
Has tamron release similar version of 28-200 for canon body?
I recently bought canon 70-200 F 2.8, it’s an amazing lense.
Awesome!! One day i'll invest in an f2.8 too🙂
@@StephanieLinI wouldn’t bother if you really don’t need the extra stop of light…. I have the f4 and shoot mostly around f5.6 and above
Hello Lin, thanks for you Video. I feel mostly same... but this Holiday i use my new RF135 F1.8 on the Streets... it was amazing.... Thanks for your cool Content.
Would love to see an update for what's in your camera bag
Mann congratulations!! I tried that in the store and i loved the range and feel

thanks for the review, yes I will choose f4 to take it every day
看了您的介紹之後,也去買了一顆70-200 f4 準備以後去日本時候拍攝,謝謝您😊

Do you ever bring both out to shoot? 😯
@@StephanieLin depending on the scene I do but most times it's just the RF 24-70
great video. can the lens maintain focus while zooming and shooting video?

I agree the 70-200mm gives you versatility and that nice compressed perspective! I like the 35mm too to walk through crowded areas :)
Wow! Can't believe it's the 70-200 :O Beautiful b-roll!! Makes me miss Japan
Love it! I want to try even longer lens too!!! 🤭
What was the reason you chose the F4 version over the F2.8 version?
#1 reason is the price 😂😂 The f2.8 is an investment!! But the F4 is definitely much smaller and better for traveling (#2). But if I'm just shooting portraits on one location, the 2.8 would be so sweeeet 🥲
@@StephanieLin I have an EF Sigma 70-200 f2.8 so I think the RF f4 would be a better fit for me. Thank you for making this video!!
I was thinking about buying 35mm instead of 24mm. Thank you for this info!
Wait, what did you decide to go with :O! 35mm used to be my favorite prime lens, but now i use the 24mm all the time 😅
@@StephanieLin I bought 50mm 1.8 and now I'm searching for good price for 24mm :)
My favorite combo (2 lens) for travel: RF 70-200 f/4L and RF 28-70 f/2L.
the 28-70 f2 must be reeeeallly nice😍😍

Thanks so much! I do also want to point out that it takes more effort to frame the shots when using the 70-200 vs a wide angle lens!

@ awww maybe i will buy back 24-70 but mark II of the sigma, maybe :)
非常實用 解決我要不要帶70-200出國的困擾 (24-70已經夠重了
真的很重🥲 可是我還是每次都兩個都帶
Are you going to add Nara to your tags since it's so popular 😆
Great idea!
This lens is so great that the f/4 might become the new f/2.8
😂
Ty for convincing me on f4, save tons of money and it is so darn light .. my rf 24-70 is way heavier…
the rf 24-70 is insanely heavy...😅
@@StephanieLin we have the same setup lol
Nice video
Thank you!! 🤩
Lol. Bring the wide angle next time. It's probably lighter too! ;-)

So sorry to hear🥲 I hope you still got some nice shots to remember your trip!
I was actually thinking of bringing my 70-200 to Japan since I can take photos further away from the crowd
Is it not a good idea?
It is pronounced as bo-keh. not bho-ka.
Thanks man!
