it bothers me that there was no reunion between Han and Luke in TFA, because Disney/Lucasfilm, they felt that whenever Luke appeared in a scene, he just outshined the new characters, he stole the show
The way Han reacts to Luke here (the remorseful expression) makes me think that at some point, probably after Ben turned to the dark side, Han and Luke had a terrible falling out.
@@grayski3324 you should hear Star Wars Theories video where they discuss why it was out of character for Luke. Pretty interesting. Not saying this movie was not poorly written as it was for sure but as a fan of the franchise it helps. It’s basically Luke even saw the good in his father and he stuck to the light but made poor choices when I came to his feelings for his friends. Since the Skywalkers can see the future and like Anakin seeing Padme dying he lost his way. The Skywalkers have emotions for their friends and family. what if he saw Ben kill Han? His best friend and a person who helped save the Galaxy. How desperate would he have felt to protect his friends and not only them but the Galaxy now like he did in Empire. Plus ultimately he didn’t actually do anything to Ben and even said himself he had a moment of weakness. Scared that the galaxy could see another Vader would be under threat of a new Vader would be traumatic even for a Jedi. Obi-Wan had PTSD and irrational thinking from the clone wars and the events with Vader in the past and he’s as noble as they get. Not at all trying to defend how bad the new trilogy is but I’m a huge fan of Star Wars and I’m just trying to make the positive happen haha. I hope you understand.
to han, it wasnt the rebellion, it was luke and leia. The two people he treasured more than chewie in his world. And Luke's opinion always mattered to him. So here he couldn't deny a thing.
He says he knew him which is past tense. Maybe Luke destroyed the temple and Leia blames Snoke for corrupting him. Luke then hid so he didn't hurt more around him.
@@Kaliosthesecond The Last Jedi is worse than the Rise of Skywalker. I'm surprised they could even end the trilogy despite Ruin Johnson making such a mess.
Luke Skywalker and Han Solo haven't talked in years. Luke Skywalker's sister Princess Leia was Han's ex boyfriend from their rebel days. Han and Leia were madly in love even thou they never sew eye to eye at first. They had a child a boy named Ben. He became Kylo Ren.
Should have been in the movie and I wish Force awakens was not a New Hope clone but it's still one of the best Star wars films of all time and a good start before rain Johnson ruined everything and then JJ made it worse that completely killed the sequel trilogy😥
In the proper canon, the one that Disney conveniently discarded and did a make over upon purchasing rights, Ben Skywalker was Luke's son. And a formidable jedi in his own right. Han and Leia had three children, all who became jedi, for which one turned to the Dark Side and murdered Luke's wife. Chewbacca, later in life, repaid his life's debt to Han Solo by sacrificing his life to save Han's children from a targeted explosion. Something tells me, had we just stuck to the original series and its original canons, we would have far better movies down the road. Not this current garbage.

initiatorhater0688 that’s because the EU sucked, and treated Luke like a proto-Force god
@@danmac00 u suck

You can thank Rian, he completely fucked that up.
MrTsiolkovsky Actually it was JJ’s fault. It was his decision to kill Han before Han and Luke even get the chance to meet again
That music gives me the chills every time
Same bro same
Gave me such chills there john Williams is a genius

I always thought that Luke must’ve had at least some sort of disagreement with Han and Leia, seeing as he tried to kill their son
@@WillALN technically he didn’t try to he thought about it and felt ashamed but then Ben attacked him
@@alphaxan8175 He still went for it and then ran from the responsibility of getting the kid back.

@@TalanWH thank you for this.
The moment he said "I knew Luke." It would've been so boss seeing Luke show up and pull a "Hello there."
WHY COULDN'T THIS HAVE BEEN IN THE MOVIE ?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?! THIS IS INCREDIBLE
.
Dylan J he says the scenes about the old trilogy
😂 Disney doesn’t like emotion they like money 💰
P.S. this is an objective statement, not a reflection of my feelings about life
It would have been way too on the nose, the audience doesn't need to be spoon-fed that hard
They counted on us the audience to visualize those scenes from the original trilogy when this moment plays out
