You don't need to be a monk for 30 years with a shaved head in Nepal to be able to understand it. It's incredibly simple. We live in our heads. We are trapped by our thoughts. We give our energy to thoughts and emotions we did not choose. Our mind is a reflexive operator. It reacts to everything. And we don't know how to live any differently. The reason those folks shave their head and move to Nepal, is to focus on meditation. The practice of emptying the mind. Becoming one with the present moment. Or "the now". Seeking "enlightenment." A state of interrupted presence. Which basically means you are 100% in control of your mind. Which means it never controls you Eckhart Tolle teaches a speedrun version of that quest for enlightenment. And I believe Kendrick Lamar did just that. And what would that mean for him? When you are totally present, you aren't nervous. Or anxious. Or excited. You just are. Most people sweat because their mind cannot help but imagine the consequences of failure. Or it wants something so badly, that it focuses on that desire more than what is right in front of them. This is a terrible amount of wasted energy for every human being. When someone becomes present, tapping into ONLY what is happening right in the very instant it is happening... All that stress, pressure, desire, fear, obsession... it all goes away. And there's nothing to sweat about. The other big aspect of what Eckhart teaches people is about the ego. He uses this word only to mean "the mind's identity." And the identification with thought, that every human being suffers from. I say "suffer" because this is THE single greatest source of mankind's suffering. Which is not the same as pain. Pain is a feeling. "Ouch!" You feel it. Suffering is the inner resistance to what is. To reality. So, for example, your girlfriend breaks up with you... You feel pain. Emotional pain. But pain none the less. But a month later, you still feel the sting of that pain. Why? Because (A) your mind reMINDs you of that painful moment. And (B) you resist the reality that it happened. Accepting reality for what it is, is a very powerful tool for inner peace. But what is so painful about your girlfriend breaking up with you? And why is it even MORE painful to see her with another man. Even years later! The ego. The mind has a voice. And it uses that voice to tell you who you are. And demands that you protect that identity. But it is, actually, a lie. You are not your girlfriend. You are not your house. Your car. Your bank account balance. Your clothes. Your muscles. Your retweets. Your followers. Your brand. Your respect. Your influence. Kendrick's lyrics from that album say exactly that. The fear we have of losing what our mind define "our self" as, is a lie that we can only see when we become deeply rooted in the present moment. And it's very simple to do. But takes quite a lot of practice to maintain and strengthen within you. Like building any other muscle. Put down your phone. Sit up. And look around. Don't move. Just be comfortable and still. And look at what's in front of you. Everything in your view. Pay as much attention to it as possible. Every detail. Not on any one thing. But on EVERYTHING you see in your view. At the same time, pay attention to the sounds you hear. Pay attention to what you smell. The longer you do this, the more you will begin to observe. That is because our minds are designed to focus our attention on things that matter to us. The color and shape of a wall usually doesn't matter to us. The sound of air doesn't usually matter. While you are doing this, pay attention to what your body feels. Your skin. Is it hot or cold or irritated in some way? And your inner body as well. How do your hands and feet feel? What you'll notice as you do this, is the habit your mind has of interrupting you. This is why people go to meditation classes and temples. To try and surround themselves with the easiest and most supportive environment to be able to do this practice. And that's all meditation is. Some practices might have fancy tricks to help you to focus. But that's all it is. The key to getting better at this is simple. Every time your mind wants to interrupt you with a thought or a story, just bring your attention back to observing the present moment. Every time. Over and over. As long as you can. As much as you can. And pretty soon, you will be able to remain present for much longer periods of time. With far less effort than when you started practicing. After a while you will begin to notice a peacefulness arising from within you. As the longer you spend in a state of presence, the less your mind is allowed to dictate your thoughts, feelings, anxiety, desire, fear, emotions. And you will notice a separation between your mind and YOU. You are consciousness itself. The watcher. The mind is under your observation. You can observe your mind thinking and reacting without being at it's mercy. Without giving up the peace you feel while present. Doing this enough, you will be able to maintain presence while doing daily activities. Working. Talking to people. Driving. Writing. Creating art. All without allowing the mind to dictate your actions or thoughts. And people will start to notice how different you seem. It is quite powerful. So it's literally the power of now. The power of fully tapping into the now. Kendrick is enlightened. Whether he's performing in the studio, or on a stage with 10,000 people around him... He is focused on doing what he is doing, while he is doing it. There is no difference between the two. The performance is the same. There is nothing to stress about. Norhing to fear. The only thing that could cause him to become distracted is his mind interrupting what he's doing. But there is nothing to think about. So he remains present. Connected with his body and his environment. No sweat. Literally. And of course it's hot in the room. So occasionally us uses the towel. But while he's doing it, he's not allowing his mind to convince him of something like *"you're sweating too much! What if you look unattractive right now because you're so sweaty?! What if you have something in your nose and everyone's looking at it?! What if you trip and fall?! What if what if what if?!"* And because of that, Kendrick was able to perform one of the most memorable moments in the history of live music... In rap or any genre. Flawlessly. Like a machine built for just that activity. Which is how he lives his life.
Damn bro this comment is what I've been searing for..a way to really break what it means to be in the "now" and how being in the now allows you to realize the separation between you mind and your consciousness (the true you) and being aware of the consciousness in the now is such a feeling of peaceful bliss it's a high like no other..to realize that I can always choose to focused on the now or be in the present moment & when I'm in that state all the fear and anxiety of any external situation stemming from my mind is able to be brought down from a high level of emotion to a soothing inner calm that's unexplainable so whoever wrote this comment please know you have done a work of God by helping a person realized he's already healed
@@michaellambert8389 Absolutely, my friend! Self-arising wisdom is the truth we all have the ability to access, depending on our level of consciousness. Our ability to be present. And this is vital for you to know... It's just like exercising any other muscle in your body. The more you work it... the stronger you become. And with presence, it's all about being able to hold space in the now. If you practice every day... soon you will be able to remain present for long periods by yourself. Drake knew once K. Dot dropped not like us there was no way in the world he was going to be able to drop a track that would fucc with not like us. The entire world is bumping not like us, it would be very hard to top that anthem.
Remember everyone at one point Taylor also said that Drake apparently wrote a song specifically for her and apparently everyone was a “ hater “ then for calling her out on that to…Charla and Andrew know Taylor be 🧢’n a lot 😂
I mean look at drakes writing credits when they say hes an actor they really mean it 😂 he can't seriously start doing disses against people who actually write about their own lives. He needs to stay in his own lane of hip pop fantasy
If drake would've actually STUDIED the amount needed to get a passing grade on a 3d grader test, he wouldn't ABSOLUTELY kept it Canadian against Kendrick 😂😂😂😂😂😢
Ppl gotta understand that the freedom of life is the way Kendrick Lamar does it. He isn’t a slave of record companies, public opinion, pop culture, etc. And still have the money, the respect, the notoriety, and the privacy of his personal life and space. If that ain’t living, idk wtf is
8:00 in, I would argue that Sza & Kendrick aren’t waves, because those come and go. I would consider them currents. Water currents push forth a movement. Someone like Drake can swim against the current, but the current is always stronger. Those that fight the current usually drown.
I was 4 when hit ‘em up was released and it was huge in the early 2000s still bug today, not like us is big now, it’s very mumbling sounding to listen to too. Hit em up is a clear precise attack
The Heart Part 6 release was GREAT strategy from drake. Kendrick said the rabbit hole's deep and he can go further, PLUS he has 5 more bullets in the chamber, drake escaped with a couple of cuts and bruises but he still has his legacy. I have a feeling Kendrick does have receipts for what he's saying, and he's saving them for a rainy day, like a great strategist, even if he hasn't, he's made enough of a statement to make people back down.
It's clear that neither of these men has ever had to write a dissertation on four sentences and a hypothesis. How can you critique something you don't understand?! Just say that the imagery, symbolism and allegorical significance of 'Not Like Us', was beyond your cognitive ability.
With each passing day I become certain that Kendrick has never shown us 100% of his ability, I imagine that even though for us he is not on social media, he is always hidden online watching everything, and when they doubt and he surprises he must laugh in people's faces
Kendrick has always been a lyrical genius! Everything he touches is GOLD! He doesn’t have to use anything to become relevant. He is and always will be most RELEVANT 👏🏼 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

What if what if what if?!"*
And because of that, Kendrick was able to perform one of the most memorable moments in the history of live music...
And even in confrontational situations. Or times where the ego is usually immediately activated. Like with a romantic partner. Or at work. Or with a family member.
"Enlightenment" is the state where there is only presence. Where presence is always happening. Within and without. Where you allow you unconscious mind to exist, and can hear it's thoughts without any identification with them. Zero judgement whatsoever. An undisturbable peace. Kendrick isn't sweating. Isn't intimidated. Doesn't miss a bar. For him, it is always now. And being so deeply rooted in the now means there is nothing to fear. Nothing to "sweat" about. Ok the contrary... He can feel his connection with everyone and everything in that room. And there is no greater feeling than that.
You have opened the door to a new dimension of peace and stillness. Connection to the formless. That cannot be described. Only felt. The rest of your life will be a choice. Knowing what you know, you now have the choice to make in each moment... to be present... Or allow your mind to run the show. Most people live their entire lives without knowing there's a choice. ..
You have only but to choose the now. The only place that exists. 🙏♥️

@@michaellambert8389 it's ironic how misunderstood Kendrick is here. The pinned comment says "Hate kept Kendrick hydrated and cold blooded." They could not be more wrong. But that's how the ego thinks. And that's why no one can do what he does. Because it's not coming from the same place he's writing from.
If we really look closely, there is not a hateful line in the song. If anything, he is CELEBRATING the authenticity of his culture. It's "they not like us", not "we hate you so much". The vibe from start to finish is "look how much fun we have celebrating 'our thing' you simply cannot buy your way into."
It's not coming from a place of hatred for frauds. It's all love of what he cherishs most. And that isn't something the ego can understand. Beautiful...
Drake should keep doing what he doing just make ig stories & stay out the way. I’m sure his label is telling him the same thing because we know Kendrick has more if Drake wants to go there! Drake was so hurt when he made the Heart part 6😂 He literally said he was over it 😂
Andrew must have Alzheimers cuz he was talking on Kendrick crazy on Brilliant and Flagrant. The switch up is wild
I'm a Kendrick fan and I didn't take it that way. Seemed like he was just talking hip hop sh*t aggressively
He was more upset than Akademics!
Shultz is not like us…
He likes to pretend though
Schulz just sitting there eating his words 😂
Kendrick is not just a RAPPER that man is DIFFERENT he is on his way to EGOT (Emmy Grammy Oscar and Tony) status. He has Grammys Emmy and He did lose the Oscar for all the stars with Sza to lady Gaga. In addition to his Pulitzer Prize
Can't be a surfer without the waves is straight bars!!!
“Date diddy” 😮😂 “that’s how you change the narrative “ yo I’m dead 😵
It’s weird listening to Andrew Schultz talk about hip hop😂😂😂
Especially after two months of bad hip hop takes
He's not like us
Incompetent outsider 😂😂😂
I love when people say kdot wasn’t relevant when he literally did the most second grossing tour for a rapper ALL TIME ALONE , didn’t drop for 5 years but when he dropped mr morale everybody run to listen to that album , he won the best rap album in 2023 with that album that insecure men don’t want to listen to 😂😂😂 the goat! 🐐
Saying Drake can do it all is stupid af. He can’t produce shit
You really mad that Drake can’t do it all huh?
He can’t even write…
@@gorgeouslyjen so he became the biggest rapper without writing?😂😂 He's the goat, beat other rappers writing they shit
12:37 Chubbs line had me 😂😂😂
Damn Taylor 😍
Bruh she’s clapped 😂
Your mother
@@AJ-hb7ro you buggin
That’s what I’m trying to tell y’all. That thang was thangin
@@brilliantidiotsclipstaylor gang!
Shulz digging in his nose then rolling up the booger is insane
Euphoria & They Not Like Us was fire & the ones performed so the topic of discussion, deservedly so...
but Meet The Grahams put the dagger in this beef!!
And it's not even about MTG but about how it was released and stepped on Family Matters. Like that moment will always live forever. Never in the history of a rap beef has someone responded so quickly
The dudes in the room mostly just respond to eachother and dismiss whatever this lady off screen says, but then also have her there so they can all mansplain to her at the same time.. what a fun dynamic
K Dot from the streets and drake from the film set.
Hahahahahahahaha 😂
Taylor 😍
That Diddy joke about you slapped me once, was hilarious
Taylor thicccc!!!
As a mfka
Kendrick threw beats and facts in 4 different songs and the last one is a catchy club banger. He proved how much better he is in a masterful way! 🔥🎶🔥
Damn Taylor Wop Wop Wop Wop Wop
Andrew sitting there pretending he wasn't one of the people saying that Kendrick wasn't relevant because he did put out as many albums as Drake.
Drake knew once K. Dot dropped not like us there was no way in the world he was going to be able to drop a track that would fucc with not like us. The entire world is bumping not like us, it would be very hard to top that anthem.
Kendrick is the next 2 pac mark my words this man is another level
No he is simply, KENDRICK LAMAR. THAT is its own thing. He is one of one. Just like PAC.
Diddy has too many of his own problems. He can't save himself, let alone Drake or anybody else😂.
Shoutout to our African brother Dove! 😂 ✊🏽
Remember everyone at one point Taylor also said that Drake apparently wrote a song specifically for her and apparently everyone was a “ hater “ then for calling her out on that to…Charla and Andrew know Taylor be 🧢’n a lot 😂
Elliot Wilson seemed to agree...
Thank you for making my day smile and keeping me informed
Andrew really went "he's A.I?" 😂😂. And it was a serious question 😂😂
Shultz is a guest in Black culture and hip-hop. Hence, THEY NOT LIKE US
Ppl gotta understand that the freedom of life is the way Kendrick Lamar does it. He isn’t a slave of record companies, public opinion, pop culture, etc. And still have the money, the respect, the notoriety, and the privacy of his personal life and space. If that ain’t living, idk wtf is
Bottom line ghost writing fake vs a real lyrical genius G.
Not to mention Good Kid Maad City has been on Billboard Top 200 for over 600 weeks...almost 12 years consecutively and its still a banger
8:00 in, I would argue that Sza & Kendrick aren’t waves, because those come and go. I would consider them currents. Water currents push forth a movement. Someone like Drake can swim against the current, but the current is always stronger. Those that fight the current usually drown.
Kenny been wearing the crown for some time but this was art of war.
I was 4 when hit ‘em up was released and it was huge in the early 2000s still bug today, not like us is big now, it’s very mumbling sounding to listen to too. Hit em up is a clear precise attack
Taylor Fine!
😂😅😂 that leg slap with NO MAS NO MAS TAP OUT TOOK ME ALL THE WAY OUT 😭 😂 DID YALL MISS THAT LOL
even the argentina football team trolling drake🤣🤣🤣🤣
5:43 andrew on foagrant w/ DjAk said he was cliut chasing😂😂😂 i dont get this man but i guess its comedy
GYATTT damn Taylor I had no idea, I'm so sorry for my poor behavior.
Theres a vid on their show a fews years ago where shes twerking to a nastya nass vid
It's clear that neither of these men has ever had to write a dissertation on four sentences and a hypothesis. How can you critique something you don't understand?! Just say that the imagery, symbolism and allegorical significance of 'Not Like Us', was beyond your cognitive ability.
K dot represents Hip Hop and Drake represents hip Pop period.
With each passing day I become certain that Kendrick has never shown us 100% of his ability, I imagine that even though for us he is not on social media, he is always hidden online watching everything, and when they doubt and he surprises he must laugh in people's faces
Like in fighting, some guys look great when they are the bully, but when their heart gets tested then they break.
Kendrick has always been a lyrical genius! Everything he touches is GOLD! He doesn’t have to use anything to become relevant. He is and always will be most RELEVANT 👏🏼 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Nobody: Charlemagne/Leanard: SkRaTaGy..."
Ok Taylor got that wagon 🍑.. appreciate it 😁
Fuck andrew and Charlemagne, let her host the show🤣
Taylor need more camera time. Move the table and put her in the middle
There's a clip on the show of she twerking from 3 years ago
Drake not being able to use ghost writers literally handicapped him... That's how we got the heart part 6
The way Schulz say “ certified ped” got me on the floor 😩🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bruno does that too takes forever to put out new music because he can
He got gambling problems like drake
this man with those slides wild AF
Him screaming wop wop wop wop had me dying!
At this point . Shout out to Young Tony for Drakes career.
Cetified Peado PHOWL!
Danke schön für das Video! 🇩🇪
Mona Lisa - Fragile - Nostalgia
No other artist has that range
Taylor got them hams!😂
That age comment went right over Char’s head.
You Know What Isn’t Incredible? Andrew Schulz Skill As A Comic
Hit em Up will always be best. Both people ended up 💀
Shultz didnt know about Kendrick until last week. Unreal
Do you guys remember the cartoon Jem and the holograms, Drake is the male version of that cartoon
ANDREW is NOT about to play in our faces like he wants one of the ones who had Kendrick fcked up in the beginning.
"Chubbs wont crash nothing but i will" 😂😂😂
Dot using the beef as career relaunch is actually insane, haha. I guess everyone can have a platform. Even people with no contact with reality whatsoever.
Kendrick plays the music game like a chess game. We Geminis just sit back and plot on everything. Strategy is key. Before crashing out
Andrew shultz didnt know kendrick won the beef till he was told, he is devestated over he's lover boy drake gettin murked
The only thing that stops me from enjoying the pod is Schultz always wanting to be substitute black
On one side I think he vibes with black folks but u can see how when a real black issue arises, he will be silent on the matter
He's a friend until it's time to be a friend
That's just my opinion tho
Got nothing to do with race imo.
oh cmon. did you start watching the pod today? Schulz is cool, period. stop trying to create division where it's unnecessary.
I'd like to see Andrew address this.. And how he feels about it. It'd be interesting to hear his stance. I remember an interview he did with Dr Umar and I was convinced he didn't like black people from then. I don't know if that's true or not. He seems cool enough to be able to answer this
Taylor is the black version of Reese Witherspoon from legally blonde lol
“Crategy”
I absolutely agree 👍
12:38 Charlemagne foul for that 🤣 😂
11:12 Nah Charlemagne Kendrick was on his neck so hard, not even a bop would have let him "tousie slide" outta this one - he met his match with DOT!
