I have zero respect for Drake and we don’t need facts. This is about perception. Drake’s hubris and sloppy management of his brand allowed himself to be painted as a fake, colonizing pdf file. Kendrick didn’t pull all that from thin air. Drake did it to himself.
Kendrick played a west coat anthem vs a foreigner in an egregious play. It's a dog whistle to the country. Especially after they systematically otherised him. It's the cheapest shot in rap history. This wasn't about rap

Only Karens couldnt get their head round it, we even understood it when rick ross said it, that was common playful talk growing up, ive seen a black person call another black person a white man before 😂
Simple people took what Kendrick said as him calling Drake not black because he's mixed. Drake continuously proves that he isn't connected to black people on any level beyond superficial. Never speaks on civil issues, makes crazy comments, etc.
Even before that. Push-ups he mentioned his wife. On euphoria & 6:16 k dot could’ve snapped back but he warned him BOTH times but he still didn’t listen.
Diss records are about attacking the opponent's CHARACTER!! This means that none of the bars need to be true, but it needs to be things attached to your Brand that can be used against you. Example: Why does Drake sound so surprised people think he has a hidden daughter when 1. he had a hidden son and 2. his Album cover for Certified Lover Boy has 12 pregnant women on it?
As someone from the UK who literally grew up Snoop, Dre, then Game that west coast type sound been my favorite music period since i was 12-13 years old Not Like Us brought me back to my child hood and ive played it non stop since it dropped
I heard Not Like Us in three peoples cars, at the store I was in line and somebody was blasting it no headphones, AND I was listening to it in my headphones all in the same day after it dropped… I’m in Maryland!
ebro saying “that’s not even on the table” for ever stopping listening to drake is wild, if everything kendrick said is true how can you listen to drake, sitting back and waiting
It's so strange cause kendrick was so smart about it he didn't directly insult any of drake's family he was talking to them about drake which is something drake was never able to do he always inserts rapper's wife's/girlfriends in the beef and called them wh*res kdot could've easily said that drake's bm was s*x workr but instead he said to his son don't hide and be ashamed of ur women like ur dad he took the righteous route and the beat/ delivery made the whole thing sound like horror movie it

Imma fan of his music and switched up on him real quick! lol I will not be seeing him the same after this. That psychology bs in rap battling works lol
Kendrick is not a hip hop artist...he's a generational artist in general. He's saying, with these "battles", I can dominate every area of the English speaking word.
Late to the party. I'm an old white guy and a life long musician. Kendrick is The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Stevie Wonder, Hendrix - a generational artist that changed the game and transcends hip hop and channels universal truths. Drake just wants your money and adoration.
This is way beyond rap beef. This is even beyond Drake vs. Kendrick. This is a real battle between the powers that be and the voices like Kendrick and others that are looking to claim this thing back that we care so deeply about that people like Drake come and steal for their own profit. Thank you Kendrick for standing on this hill and representing for the people that really care about this music don’t let these suits make you budge!!!
How can Drake steal his own version of creativity from you though. Do we really need to villainize to revive the culture? Itll never make sense to me🤷🏿♂️
@@takundag_ there’s a difference between being creative and stealing, or inauthentically engaging with cultural practices that already exist. The lack of respect that people collectively have in hip-hop for Drake is due to his own poor character, and his caricaturizatuon of a multitude of Afro diasporic traditions, none of which he belongs to. In order to be creative, you have to be original, and the heart of the matter is that Drake is not original, he’s more or less a thief. There’s a reason why so many people feel that way about him, and I do think that people “villainising” him for that behaviour is fair. Much the same as it’s fair when we are upset by non-black people doing that. It’s not better because Drake is black.
Kendrick won , because he planeted the seed in ppls mind that can dismantle this mans legacy in hindsight. And that seed will grow over the years & generations .
He just signed a 400million deal and the label and Nike unhappy with the ped talk because they got to much money invested to have kenny ruin there product without proof
The thing is people have been saying this stuff about Drake for some time so he didn’t plant it, he watered it which is worse for Drake. He just substantiated what people were already thinking and he said it over good songs so I agree this stuff will stick to Drake. What Drake said about Kendrick won’t stick to him.
@@Jasminemarie94 they said it but were ppl paying attention to it as a collective hit piece ? That matters when it comes to sociology of the masses and the psychology as an individual. Am i the only one that feels like hip-hop media is downplaying the effect this is gonna have on Drake's career? It honestly feels like these media heads are just rolling right past how severe these allegations are..
Kendrick won by TKO. But the biggest win is THE CULTURE. Gen Z finally got a taste of REAL HIP-HOP and it's beautiful. Dissecting lyrics, GOAT debates, fact-checking artists, and holding artists to HIGH STANDARD is what defined the 90s/early 2000s and made it THE GOLDEN ERA. Artists sparring for the title happened like EVERY MONTH back then. It's the checks and balances of the game that keeps it alive and healthy and exactly what's been missing and why the muzik is so awful today. Thank God for KDOT.

Why? Is Paris, France “the hood” where mad black people live, or are we more likely to see mixed race people like Le Twins from there?

From the east coast and can’t stop playing K-Dot over and over and over. Never played his music like this before. Now I get why he is where he is. Love that he is so versatile and on such a high level
The fact that Ebro is dropping major knowledge on the cast and they are dismissing how kdot is schooling Drake with black knowledge is crazy to me… Ebro keep schooling them 💯
Ebro a top 5 hater.
And for a top 5 hater to be spot on as he is in this particular video says alot@@Groover71

Kendrick is exposing Drake as a cultural appropriator who has no hip-hop authenticity.
If you waited 15 years for kendrick to point that out to you, you failed at analysing hip hop 😅😂
There are so many rappers over the decades we can all call culture vultures but it would hurt a lot of your feelings.

By what metric sir?
Drake will keep his Gen Z, white, Jewish fans. However, this beef has completely separated him from the culture and core hip hop community.
His career will be referenced in the future as “before Kendrick beef” and “after Kendrick beef” no doubt.
🎯 🎯🎯🎯🎯 exactly! Kendrick, Bruce Lee Kapowed Drake to Uranus or Saturn not the moon! Drake got the 1973 A-- whipping where your momma chasing you with the belt all the back to Texas! Where you can’t sit down. It’s really that bad!

I have zero respect for Drake and we don’t need facts. This is about perception. Drake’s hubris and sloppy management of his brand allowed himself to be painted as a fake, colonizing pdf file. Kendrick didn’t pull all that from thin air. Drake did it to himself.
Thank you… He did it to himself.
Kendrick played a west coat anthem vs a foreigner in an egregious play. It's a dog whistle to the country. Especially after they systematically otherised him. It's the cheapest shot in rap history. This wasn't about rap

Thanks for addressing the Drake being mixed comments. It was never about Drake being mixed, it was about how he treated the culture.
In Vancouver we were blasting it this weekend at the Canuck’s NHL playoff game. 🏒

I think y’all are missing the blow Drake just took to his image. There were random people from all over the world dissing Drake on a bbl drizzy beat. Like the cultural shift can not be understated. He may be on the charts again but he will never see the same level of respect and attention.
Never? The man just finished 90+ shows WHILE DOING THIS BATTLE! Drake has the respect and attention, just maybe not from Kendrick fans who didn't like him anyway.
Exactly. Drake will still be popular, but now he’s never shedding that cornball image lol
Imma fan of his music and switched up on him real quick! lol I will not be seeing him the same after this. That psychology bs in rap battling works lol
Facts, he’s been dethroned
Kendrick is not a hip hop artist...he's a generational artist in general. He's saying, with these "battles", I can dominate every area of the English speaking word.
Late to the party. I'm an old white guy and a life long musician. Kendrick is The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Stevie Wonder, Hendrix - a generational artist that changed the game and transcends hip hop and channels universal truths. Drake just wants your money and adoration.
This is straight up one of the few smart conversations being held on this topic. Nice.

🎯
How can Drake steal his own version of creativity from you though. Do we really need to villainize to revive the culture? Itll never make sense to me🤷🏿♂️
Yes❤
Not to mention him standing against an entire industry and standing up for young women that are being taken advantage of allegedly
He won because he is a better artist.. Drake wanted to be petty and lost on that too…
@@Jasminemarie94 they said it but were ppl paying attention to it as a collective hit piece ? That matters when it comes to sociology of the masses and the psychology as an individual. Now the last info stitches together to paint a bigger picture makes sense to the masses & that seed will now take root in ppls minds.
@@bekongwu602 I think I know he won because he’s a better artist . However, the masses didn’t believe that because they loved drake so much & kept saying he was competition & he was not.
