Well done. Been there and done that a couple years ago. Original spare tire too old and dangerous, can’t get a new spare anymore for a Z3, and it was then unwanted dead weight. I removed the rack and cut off the circular mounts to continue using them to seal the two mounting holes in the car. 😊
Dear Terry, I wanted to thank you for your videos that where very usefull. Thanks to you I was able the lift the car, change the engine oil, the gearbox oil and the transmission fluid. The most scary part was lifting the car but I took my time and everything went well. I wanted to ask you: 1. Do you consider in the future making a video on how to bleed the brakes and the clutch ? 2. How to replace the air cabin filter ? Thanks for your help and advice. Cheers from Belgium 🇧🇪👋 Jerome
I'm so glad my videos were helpful. I need to replace my brake fluid and my clutch slave cylinder so it's on my to do list. I have some other projects I need to do first though. My power steering is leaking and my flex disc is cracked so those projects will be coming up soon.
@@CoolcatsAlley Great 👍 I should have taken the opportunity to have a look at the flector while the car was on the jack stands because I do often ear a clunking noise in the back when changing gears. I think mine is cracked too or the driveshaft bearing must be worn out and needs to be replaced also. Anyway, thank you for the good job 👍 Jerome
I would hate to not have a spare tire but I hear what you're saying waiting for a tow truck you never know where you might be or you have to fix it yourself can you put a spare tire in the trunk
Thing is no tire fits in the trunk. So even if you used the spare tire you would have to put your flat tire in your passenger seat and it would get everything very dirty. Plus the spare tire is too old and it most likely will blow out when used.
Special note: the cable I cut can be removed by unscrewing it. I didn't realize this at first but cutting it also works.
I like your reuse of the existing parts to plug up the holes instead of searching for parts that will fit exactly to pug their...great idea.that
Thanks I figured I had the means to cut it so it was easier than having to go buy bolts.
You won't miss it! Good job.
Thanks 👍🏻

Yeah figured it was the easiest way so I wouldn't have to make a run to the hardware store.

Replacing shocks next?
It's on my list but I need to do my flex disc and power steering first.
