I couldn't have said it any better Barry. I lived on the South Side of Chicago in the 60s..The champ had a modest home not far from mine. I saw him once on his porch talking to people. I was on my way to work as a teacher in a black area. I walked up to his house and asked him to autograph a pic I had of him and address it to the students of the school I worked at. Without hesitation and with a smile, he signed it. I'll always recall that kindness. I'm 75 now. I loved the champ!

When I was a boy in Miami he owned a Hamburger joint while he was suspended from boxing. "Champ Burger" was on NW 62 Street and 17th Avenue. My family lived across the street in a 2 story Apt. complex that is still operational today. I vividly remember watching Ali from the 2nd floor of the complex admonishing us to be proud to be Black. It was one of the most proudest moments of my childhood. Watching Ali in this vintage film in the parking lot of Champ Burger with that Cow wearing boxing gloves on the spinning sign brought back memories.
