      @@dogydog247 It's simple imagine you're hungry while in these case it'll be the hunger that makes you want to eat something which is what your body wants. Even though whether you want to eat or not depends upon you, if you eat at that moment it'll be you listening to your body rather if you take your time and eat whenever you think is the right time that's when you're listening to yourself.

    We are constantly trying to understand the world around us through interpreting what we perceive. If we are not settled with what we perceive, then, there could be an urge to use the world around us as an effort to explore who we are inside as an effort to manage what we are confused with or not comfortable with. This may contribute to further inner exploration/explanation, however, this will lead to further internal suffering if it is not controlled as an effort to understand, and see how this process is contributing or lessening. The problem with this then is, if we use the world around us to help define who we are and why we are and what we need, then without self control we will loose balance and never truly understand the process which we truly need and constantly then trying to figure out a solution, and along this process most likely become dependent on something while loosing self regulation and independence. All the while, this is us just trying to make sense, provide comfort, give us meaning, or we get trapped in that we find ways to make us physically feel which blinds us to seeing that without that we still don't feel good. Going this way, we never take time to make sense, looking for an answer or thinking we feel good so we are good, rather then taking time to be ok without an answer is something to consider. Then, along this journey of figuring what ever it is out, be ok with not having the answer, and take your time figuring things out without getting caught up in having a solution or doing something or having something that feels good that masks the fact that you're not good. If you're not good, then be this, be ok not being good, not feeling good, ect, use this as an opportunity to understand why rather than trying to get out of this as quick as possible. Take your time getting to know yourself, or use the world around you to provide that comfort.

    People become addicted to things because they're not fulfilling their purpose on this earth. If more people were fulfilling their purpose there would be less addiction. And addiction happens when people adapt to the drugs (or whatever else they're addicted to) and their body becomes good at it. But what they don't understand is that it's easy to not be addicted too. Our bodies will adjust to no drugs (or whatever else they're addicted to) and adapt and become good at that too. It's a mindset shift. Shifting our beliefs will help to stop the addictions so that the person can find their purpose (which comes from pain).

    • @jaycub4711
      @jaycub4711 4 роки тому +3

      I think the transition is difficult. Some shifts can be very uncomfortable for a stretch of time. Sadghuru has said before "There is no purpose" and I kind of agree with him. However it is always the sensible thing to pursue health for the living things on earth if we want the ball to continue rolling.

    Guru will always be my guiding path...but I'm sorry when it comes to addiction, he has no idea. And I don't expect him to know all the answers, but this is quiet childish. Cannabis receptors? And to start the lecture by saying
    "Hey I'm stonned"..I know what he meant but it just ridicules the whole thing. What about substance which are way more addictive like coke and heroin..are you stonned on that too?? The young man never once said Cannabis, Indians just assume drugs are Weed, while half the young generation of Indians I know are hooked on mdma and coke..We need change, we need education, .....and pls don't think I'm mocking the guru.he is my Guru and will always be.

      By the way, the best way to cope with addictions is meditation (Shamhavi mudra or Isha Kirya) and mindfulness - meditation throughout the day - when you 100% involve yourself with each and every activity - be it eating - walking - brushing teeth, and etc.

      If you watch him often he answered the question. He basically said you must use inner engineering to fight addiction. At the end he said you must tell your body and mind what to do; not your body and mind telling you. With an addiction your body is telling you what to do. He has given countless examples of how to control your body and mind. He mentions yoga as one way, positive thinking and controlling your thoughts as another, eating heathy etc. The main point is changing your thought! You can do great things when your mind is made to do it!

    Am I the only one who finds this guy's answers absolutely useless? After a question he always makes a joke to distract the audience. Then he tells you he can give you the answer by having you sit in silence, followed by a somewhat relevant story.
    But in the end is alcoholic or the alcoholic's family going to sit in silence and be cured? No they are going to drink and go to work and take care of families, respectively.

      @@BakingBallerina “the answer is within yourself”. Have you ever met a recovering addict? Their answer was always the people around them. This isn’t something created. I come from a family of addicts and can say with certainty that you’re either born to this or you aren’t.
      The real answer is to detox with the help of a medical professional and go to an AA meeting and maybe try a rehab clinic that isn’t attached to the church or some other dumb shit. This isn’t LSD or mushrooms ego-death shit. It’s just a self destructive nightmare. I’ve been in detox like 3 times now, and I’ve finally made it at least 2 months sober after years upon years of being hooked daily on things. Don’t you understand?
