I was trying to find the perfect song to dance to at my wedding and right when I thought I found it, I heard this song and knew this absolutely was the one. The line "Give me your misery, all of it, give it to me, I can hold onto it for you it's not a problem" made me cried so hard when I first heard it (still does, crying right now actually) because the first time my husband saw my depression rear its ugly head, he did what no one else in my past has, he held me and said, "It's okay. I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere." He sees beyond my broken parts and that's honesly all I've ever wanted.
Rachel, this resonated with me. Please be well. My partner and I love this song for similar reasons. She is my rock when I’m in a depressive state. Stay safe.

I saw them live about 2 months ago! I was with my sister, we have a 10 year age gap and I've never really felt close to her. I've always known she has my back and she knows I have hers no matter how young I am. But let me tell you when this song turned on it's like we were the same person, we started crying really hard and she grabbed me and we got pushed right in front of the stage in the center. We both have depression and personally I've had lot's of trauma with SA and I remember her telling me when I was 7 in the kitchen "I will always be there for you and I love you so much.". Lot's of feelings rushed in at that moment when they played this song. Me and her have different dads but neither are really in our lives. I love her so much, she makes me feel so loved. Thank you, Mayday Parade, for making amazing music and saving lives, and giving me and my sister a reason to fight and giving me that incredibly special moment.

I didn't really like the Black Lines album but had loved all their work before that album. This new song is beautiful, I have high hopes for their new album. Good work guys.

blacklines for me, is the best thing that happened to them as a band, the lyrics and songs are raw and they put out some emotions i didn't knew i had like, the feeling of being out of place [just out of reach], the faded yet longing friendship[one of them will destroy the other], the longing for an intimate talk after a hard time [keep in mind], the toxicity that dwells in me [letting go] and the severe depression i still had up to this day [until you're big enough] - it's a step forward for me that it brought forth new emotions aside from "love" "being in love" and "falling out of love".

Black Lines was great because it was still Mayday but it didn’t sound like anything else this is great because it’s different but also nostalgic, you gotta let a band grow but I advise to listen to Black Lines a couple more times through it really does have their sound and it’s just influenced by all the things that influenced them and it’s actually really beautiful

Just saw mayday parade perform this live at sad summer fest while it was pouring rain in Pontiac,Mi. Literally one of the most surreal moments I’ve ever experienced. The entire crowd was connected in a way I can’t explain. It was perfect. Like if you were there that night with me 🤘

I love Mayday Parade and I’m a long time supporter who has a few of their physical albums in my room :-) I think this “new style” still has remnants of their past music, with screams of angst in a few lyrical phrases or subtle lyrics throughout an upbeat song that yell depression. I am looking forward to their new album, I’ve been waiting- no, we’ve all been waiting. :)

I've waited too long for this. I love the band, but I've got to admit, I wasn't the biggest fan of Black Lines (although I did like tracks like Until You're Big Enough and Just Out of Reach). I'm so glad they're growing in style while still maintaining the same raw, heartfelt sound that makes Mayday Parade different from other alternative/pop punk bands.

Some bands peak then decline. Some bands maintain. Some bands get better. Mayday seems to be getting better. Sure, the nostalgia of Romantics or Anywhere But Here is still high, but Sunnyland and What It Means To Fall Apart have both been A+ albums IMO.
Self Titled still my fav though. There isn't a single song on that album I don't love.
