At one point, Netflix was looking to hire a head for their aviation department and my Dad ended up being considered. Netflix’s culture is exceptionally harsh with tons of encouraged questioning and an emphasis on you only being valuable as long as you are contributing. My Dad’s likes a challenge, so he went for it. He got far enough into the process where he was doing face to face interviews for multiple hours which was wear a ton of equality and diversity questions came in. My Dad’s been working in SoCal and with these sorts of people for decades, so he knew how to answer these. He and my mom even started looking at houses to buy in the area. In the end, he got passed up at the very end for somebody who had maybe a third of the experience (and success) my Dad has had…because he was Black. Netflix deserves all the ridicule they get. When your ironically prejudicial ideology controls more than what your own customers want, you do dumb things like pulling an excellent, money-making, license from a game that would still be making you money! -_-
I mean, are you SURE that's why your dad was passed up? Businesses don't typically call job candidates back and say "We didn't hire you because we hired this person who is a minority with a third of your experience." Maybe there was some other reason or maybe they picked up on the fact that your dad "knew" how to answer certain questions without really believing what he was saying (as I assume you are implying). Or perhaps the inexperienced guy could do the job and was more in line with their budget. Maybe it is as you present it, but I'm always suspicious when people claim this kind of thing happened because employers do not tell people they didn't hire them because they hired someone for their minority status. And are you sure your dad knows all the qualifications of the person who was hired? Maybe they had something that gave them an edge or maybe they had better chemistry with the team during interviews. Netflix sucks in relation to DbD, but that has nothing to do with race. I suspect it has everything to do with them trying to get into the gaming niche and wanting all their IPs for themselves to reduce competition.
@@Grifynne " Maybe there was some other reason or maybe they picked up on the fact that your dad "knew" how to answer certain questions without really believing what he was saying (as I assume you are implying). Or perhaps the inexperienced guy could do the job and was more in line with their budget." So a few things here that I didn't include in my previous post: 1) The VP of Netflix reached out to my Dad looking for candidates since my Dad runs a successful charter flight company as the VP. When my Dad didn't really have any recommendations and had to get back to him, the VP said offhand he assumed my Dad was tied up, which my Dad stated his willingness/desire for the job. Soooo, in terms of looking for someone who could do their job, my Dad was above their expectations for even the VP of Netflix (to be proud of/brag about my Dad being a badass). :P 2) In terms of my Dad answering questions, I actually listened in a bit since I was going university/work during this time period and living at home. While his answers weren't exactly what they may have wanted (I took classes where topics of equity/equality/intersectionality were central to said class and am in these spheres to keep myself open-minded), they were supported with a track record of employees he could cite to. Maybe this wasn't adequate, but I will tackle what their company sets forth in a bit. 3) Netflix actually habitually overpays their management, so budget was not a problem...at least when they were looking to hire a few years back. :P " And are you sure your dad knows all the qualifications of the person who was hired? Maybe they had something that gave them an edge or maybe they had better chemistry with the team during interviews. " Chemistry is indeed a possibility, although Netflix culture doesn't push for chemistry, but for the best of the best to challenge each other to be the best. That is my Dad's resume to a T....and not the other fella's (it is a pretty niche industry running private aviation companies). Soooo, if they cared more about chemistry, then they are going against their own 100ish page company culture statement I got to read. :P "Netflix sucks in relation to DbD, but that has nothing to do with race. I suspect it has everything to do with them trying to get into the gaming niche and wanting all their IPs for themselves to reduce competition." Sure, although Netflix has made really awful choices in regards to race in their projects...hence the most recent Queen Cleopatra controversy which, as someone who loves Roman History, finds this hilariously ahistorical! :P You are justified in being skeptical, but Netflix focusing on what doesn't matter is nothing new. That was the purpose of my anecdote, to show the higher ups and management don't make decisions that make the best company and best products...so why would they reach out to get exposure for their popular franchise through DBD (and get fans wanting a Sranger Things game even more)? :P
this is actually heartbreaking, poor matthew tho, jus crazy tho bc he’s teased a lot of obvious hands down stranger things related teasers in so many aspects after the license was pulled. a HUGE shame the stranger things dlc had to be the one to take the bullet bc of how precious contracts were written (stranger things contract) to where it could be pulled by the company. :(
matthew wouldn’t have removed this dlc as stated and if it came out after the contract update, we’d still probably have everything, but no new content added to it which is the big thing for me
I am not 100% convinced it's the fault of how the contract was written, Mathieu stated it was never a plan to remove the content from the game and also the way he was talking about the removal it was clear to see it was very sudden so my theory is that Netflix had to pay so the contract could end this fast especially when literally the same year when the DLC was removed we got like 2 new skins for Nancy and Steve...
@@flopyassyfied It is the fault of how the contract was written, but at the same time ST could have never come to DBD as this might've been a line in the sand for the lawyers on their side. Maybe this is something BHVR compromised on when it was added as they never forsaw them actually enacting the clawback clause or buyout or whatever terminology it actually was. There is 0 way that an ironclad contract would allow ST to go "nah we don't feel like allowing you to use our IP anymore take it out" unless BHVRs lawyers are as inept as their balance team to let a loophole go through unintentionally. Its way more likely it was standard wording they never expected a company to actually utilize since they had a good relationship and now there are heftier penalties or just straight up don't allow those clauses anymore.
I feel like bEhavior has really been making a come back and we are seeing a company that really cares for their game and community, especially with their anniversary broadcast. ❤
I think the Nancy and Steve bots in that pic from your other vid was to call out Netflix for DC'ing on the game maybe. I think it was done on purpose with them as the replacement bots in the game for that reason. Almost an inner joke.
People really think BHVR, or any company really, would just want to NOT renew a contract and lose access to something they worked on/were profiting off of. DBD Twitter has shown me just how dumb some people in this community are 🥴
That makes a lot more sense now. Why would BHVR ever want to remove content from their game? So it isn't surprising it's all on Netflix's end. However I wasn't aware of the Netflix gaming thing. Now it all comes together. Seems like Netflix is trying to limit competition, especially for their show-based IPs. I wonder if they will be more open to negotiations if their gaming platform fails as many, many do. Most big companies want a piece of that enormous pie that Steam built, but without putting in the years and effort in the gaming industry that Valve did.
Well this seems it ain't happening any time soon so I'd say we have to wait at least until 2024 maybe even 2025, but I'll be patiently waiting for Hopper, Robin and Vecna in the future. But in the meantime I can hope that these next few chapters are my dream ones (Alien and Slenderman) and this time it seems like they have a pretty good chance too!
@@Yoshiinite well I'd personally go with Robin and Hopper as they have the most skin choices like the scoops ahoy, hoppers Hawaiian shirt, Russian outfit, robins fight against vecna outfit etc, and that's why I didn't choose Eddie and / or Joyce since they don't have much skin variety. And for vecna all he would really get for skins are a burned skin, and a 001 skin as a legendary skin maybe?? But ya that's why I chose them. Edit: Maybe we could also get a Hospital Monster skin for The Dredge as a legendary outfit and the Creel House as the map

Netflix is still going down hill, like usual, however, if Netflix actually came back to BHVR, and possibly bring back the license, and maybe even add more characters, I feel like it would not only bring more people again to DBD but bring more people back to stranger things to rewatch it, I feel if they were to do this, they should do it at the release of season 5, if it ever happens lol. Netflix needs to stop doing stupid decisions.

Mine is the opposite, I bought dbd nightmare edition on disc with the Stranger Things dlc included and actually started watching the show because of Dead by Daylight. I also hope it comes back!
Yeah this pretty much confirms that Stranger Things will never come back as long as Netflix is being ran the way it is. It's a shame because it's a lot of people's hopes to see, but Netflix is being very Netflix about the licensing for reasons
I don't see how this is news. We knew it was on Netflix because they wanted to their own stranger things game type deal. I figured they'd like it back so they can make more money, but this isn't new information
Honestly I think Netflix just doesn't have a good business model or plan. They seem to create great content then pull it with the exception of strangers things which could explain why they are protective of it. I miss it but honestly Netflix might die out if they aren't careful
They are already on decline, if they carry on then they will be forced to bring back everything they took away to try and save the company, but the thing is Netflix probably has enough money to carry on for the next at least 10 years...
@@thewanderingjew8925 just as a whole, I feel it's no secret they change their business model frequently and too their detriment, though that's besides the point. Plus they cancel popular shows frequently for what feels like no good reason. If anything DBD could help their future games, if they produced a game I'm sure behavior would send love their way but Netflix has a reactive business model
@@thewanderingjew8925 Netflix have earned the bad reputation of cancelling projects out of the blue, they've cancelled series, movies and etc, and you know why? @@Yoshiinite I hope you are correct in that they will try to mend the bridge and it will return but I'm doubtful they would have had to fork out any money for free publicity, I would have thought behavior would have forked out money for their king IP stranger things(I'm not expert in licencing contracts).
I can almost guarantee that someone at bhvr banned some netflix employee(s) account who played DBD after the split which resulted in leaving a bad taste in their mouth and refusing to work with the company again.
That seems like a stretch. It could be a whole number of potential reasons. Another possibility I frequently hear is that Netflix demanded more money out of the license. Which is yet another guess not really based off of anything concrete
That's not it at all, it's just Netflix being so dumb to see anything game related as competition when they're not even in the gaming industry at all, all they've done is like a few phone games 💀
@@Yoshiinite FR they should have waited till they released games with good reception and have the DBD and other licenses as a back up. Netflix is taking L after L, especially with their account sharing restrictions bc of fictional revenue.

I feel sorry for the Developers of DBD, they're always getting harassed by the Community about Stranger things returning and wanting Springtrap in DBD. The worst part is that, BHVR is probably trying as hard as they can to get Stranger things back and get Springtrap into DBD and the community is just bashing the Devs and harassing them when they still haven't done it.
WOW! I wasn't expecting that clear an answer from him... Whatever NDA must no longer be in enforcement, certainly for him to give that transparent of an answer... Or he decided that it didn't apply to this specific information... This doesn't change much but it does firmly and clearly point out that DBD was never the party that wanted this content to go away... What confuses me is why Netflix was... They've done other crossovers that are still quite prevalent in other games since DBD... And honestly, it feels like free licensing money.
They haven’t re-released any of the Fortnite cosmetics from their first release which is honestly the biggest money making potential they had. However, Stranger Things is like the one good thing netflix has left, they’re going to try to keep it exclusive for as long as possible.
Is it possible as a community we can start tagging Netflix and maybe if enough of us do they'll see just how many of us want it back. I want the demo so much!
i honestly feel a little bad for the team with how much everyone focuses on Stranger Things vs every cool thing that was talked about during the livestream. i saw like a bunch of people focusing on the fact that the showing of the DC bots was Steve and Nancy and saying like "oh clearly it was to tease stranger things coming back!". like, everyone seemed very passionate about what they were talking about yesterday - especially the people talking about cosmetics and End Transmission - and it sucks that any mention of Stranger Things makes people focus on that as opposed to a lot of the other cool things that were talked about. i mean, Ikumi Nakamura is MAKING COSMETICS FOR US???? and people wanna focus on Stranger Things??? over Ikumi Nakamura???? i doubt Stranger Things will ever come back. Netflix is too greedy of a company, they want to keep any money made from Stranger Things for themselves, as opposed to just getting a cut of the profits. also, i feel like. the community doesn't actually care that much? because in the time since it went away, i've seen very very few people playing Steve or Nancy, and i just had my first game against a Demogorgon in months the other day. i think the community cares because it was the first time we lost a license, but i don't think they actually care about the chapter that much, because if they did, the people who owned the chapter would still be playing the characters
you also got to think about how the license got pulled almost 2 years ago so the people that do have it might not be playing anymore, or they are just playing other characters too since it can get boring playing the same person over and over again.
I started playing right after the 5th anniversary and pinhead was going to be released the next month. My plan was to not buy stranger things atm but I went ahead and did when the sale was for half off with auric cells. Good thing I did according to the big celebration I missed because I waited so long for the game to go back on sale to $20
Some interesting bits of information was released in this interview. I few being Nicolas Cage will have voice lines and by the man himself, as-well as cosmetics based on what he would actually wear. Second being ‘Naughty Bear’ having a unique mori to that of the Trapper. Which would mark the first ‘Legendary’ skin to do so. Opens up the possibilities to a lot of new skins!
Netflix just sucks overall- they add movies nobody watches and horrible movies all together and removes the good and classic movies, and along with them being dicks and purposefully pulling the license from the game, for no definitive reason other than they wanted to make a game based off of the tv show when the game they created or are creating is most definitely going to be horrible.
Alot of people upset with the ST thing for me I just want Screams characters added, I know they were able to get the mask from Funworld but I want my Final girls and guys from Scream 😔😔😔😔
We could possibly get a survivor licensed chapter paragraph only in January 2024 since the new roadmap year 8, there's only a survivor paragraph of Chapter 30.5, and it's either going to be licensed or original. However if it's a licensed, then there's a chance to see one of the Scream survivor to be there?
@evingalarza8412 wait I thought the next 2 chapters were licensed? Wouldnt they say paragraph if it was just a survivor???? Or did they say just a survivor in the livestream? I'm sorry I'm confused now
@@maurodiaz8989 the two chapters (which is Chapter 29 on August and Chapter 30 on November) of this year is fully licensed since it was confirmed from the Livestream. I'm just saying that in January 2024, there's a survivor paragraph meaning that we're likely going to receive a mid chapter whether if it's original survivor paragraph (like Mikaela, as an example since she was a mid chapter/Chapter 21.5 of a survivor paragraph) or a licensed survivor paragraph (like Ash Williams from Ash vs the Evil Dead (Chapter 12.5) or Bill from Left Dead (Chapter 3.5))
@evingalarza8412 oh okay nice I hope licensed, I ALWAYS prefer licensed stuff so I can play my favorite killers, final girls or final guys in Dead by Daylight ❤️

I doubt Stranger things will ever return to DBD. I have mixed opinions about DBD these days, but this is one I feel they were treated unfairly. They had a contract, they hyped it up, they worked hard on the content, and then a year or so later Netflix completely shafts them. Since they are gearing towards more sci-fi horror, I have to wonder if we're going to get a dead space (or whatever it is) chapter, or even an aliens chapter.
It's par for the course, Netflix lawyers created the contracts, Behavior probably didn't have lawyers review it and here we are... happens all the time in Montreal.
The writers strike really put a hold on a lot of Netflix properties Stranger Things 5 included. It wouldn’t be crazy to think that window is open for Netflix to get a little money from their property while they wait on what will happen.
I'm frustrated with the fact that BHVR don't Add many more maps with different aesthetics or environments... 🙆🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ Hawkins Lab Map was my favourite Map because it felt so different from the other generic maps... The Worst Maps designwise are Decimated Borgo and Backwater Swamp in my opinion, I really miss Hawkins Laboratory map design, it felt so different from the others, with only Lery's Memorial Institute being close to that unique and specific map, I think we need more diverse maps like these that I mentioned, We need more diversity in the category of maps, because DBD have many more maps which in my opinion are pretty much the same, and indoor maps are very unique and authentic, because the scare factor it's much more unpredictable and impactful in these indoor maps environments If you ask me.. 🤷🏻♂️
Again, you love to copy and paste your opinion on different DBD videos. Not saying it's annoying, but just say that there should've been a new indoor map or something rather than repeating almost the same comment.
we already knew that it was because of netflix that we lost the lisens but for him to say that he has tried to get it but makes me know that there is a lot more going on behine the scens and we should be less hatefull to them and the stuff the do
Netflix has been digging it’s own grave for a while. They’ve increased their prices, they’ve removed countless good shows, and other streaming services are just better.
This basically reads as ANY Netflix property is now off the table for Behaviour Interactive and Dead by Daylight. If Netflix won't relicense Stranger Things then I highly suspect they won't licence new content either.
Theory im thinkin now that kinda explains the lack of Licensed IP, maybe cause BHvr changed the contracts in a certain way that makes these License Holders not wanna let them use their IPs now, maybe they were super flexible b4 hence the rapid fire collaborations compared to now? Just a theory
Lack of Licensed IP? They released Sadako the chapter before the anniversary and Wesker the chapter after last anniversary. It's only been 3 original Killers inbetween as Nick Cage is coming into DBD and another license after him. It's more likely that it's due to contracts and developing licenses along with wanting to expanding on the game's original concepts. License content takes a lot more time than people seem to think.
I think Netflix's game division needs to get humbled, get an ego check and a black eye before Stranger Things will return to DBD. They think they're above it.
If the Dead By Daylight movie performs well, I could see Netflix coming back to the table. But for now they probably consider DBD off brand in terms of their franchise.
Netflix removed Stranger Things from Dead by Daylight to make shitty phone games and a Demogorgon Fleshlight, yeah i didn't remember the last one, let that one sink in, it's mind boggling 💀

" Maybe there was some other reason or maybe they picked up on the fact that your dad "knew" how to answer certain questions without really believing what he was saying (as I assume you are implying). Or perhaps the inexperienced guy could do the job and was more in line with their budget."
So a few things here that I didn't include in my previous post:
1) The VP of Netflix reached out to my Dad looking for candidates since my Dad runs a successful charter flight company as the VP. :P
2) In terms of my Dad answering questions, I actually listened in a bit since I was going university/work during this time period and living at home.
" And are you sure your dad knows all the qualifications of the person who was hired? Maybe they had something that gave them an edge or maybe they had better chemistry with the team during interviews.
"
Chemistry is indeed a possibility, although Netflix culture doesn't push for chemistry, but for the best of the best to challenge each other to be the best. That is my Dad's resume to a T....and not the other fella's (it is a pretty niche industry running private aviation companies). Soooo, if they cared more about chemistry, then they are going against their own 100ish page company culture statement I got to read. :P
"Netflix sucks in relation to DbD, but that has nothing to do with race. I suspect it has everything to do with them trying to get into the gaming niche and wanting all their IPs for themselves to reduce competition."
Sure, although Netflix has made really awful choices in regards to race in their projects...hence the most recent Queen Cleopatra controversy which, as someone who loves Roman History, finds this hilariously ahistorical! :P
You are justified in being skeptical, but Netflix focusing on what doesn't matter is nothing new.
@@jaynice2208 why was the license so SHORT to begin with? They joined in 2019 and only lasted until 2021, should've signed a 5 year minimum 😭
It's really a shame. I'd love to see characters like Vecna, Robin, Joyce, and Eddie show up in DBD, but it seems extremely unlikely now... :/
People really think BHVR, or any company really, would just want to NOT renew a contract and lose access to something they worked on/were profiting off of. DBD Twitter has shown me just how dumb some people in this community are 🥴
man, you can say anything you want about bhv, but Mathieu is an awesome guy.
I want a part 2 to include a killer with Hopper and Joyce as the survivors, or maybe Robin, so far from what I've seen of her i think she's cool

Why ? Because they wouldn’t add their characters to dbd?
@@thewanderingjew8925 just as a whole, I feel it's no secret they change their business model frequently and too their detriment, though that's besides the point. @@thewanderingjew8925 Netflix have earned the bad reputation of cancelling projects out of the blue, they've cancelled series, movies and etc, and you know why? I can almost guarantee that someone at bhvr banned some netflix employee(s) account who played DBD after the split which resulted in leaving a bad taste in their mouth and refusing to work with the company again.
Bruh what is this based off of???

Wish they had brought more cosmetics out for Steve and Nancy before they removed the stranger things stuff from dbd

This basically reads as ANY Netflix property is now off the table for Behaviour Interactive and Dead by Daylight. If Netflix won't relicense Stranger Things then I highly suspect they won't licence new content either.
I mean, was there any real doubt before that it was because of netflix?
Theory im thinkin now that kinda explains the lack of Licensed IP, maybe cause BHvr changed the contracts in a certain way that makes these License Holders not wanna let them use their IPs now, maybe they were super flexible b4 hence the rapid fire collaborations compared to now? Just a theory
I mean it’s ultimately not up to BHVR whether they get a license in the game or not, it’s up to the license holder

Well that is a shame........well i hope It will come back it probably will. But in the meantime we'll have to wait for Netflix to respond to Behavior
Dang but that’s fine. It just makes the people with the dlc feel special lol got everything but that one Steven shirt 😫. Hopefully it comes back
What about the Classic Freddy Krueger?
