The fish part of the cage will be a pain man. The monitor and your fish are gonna dirty that up like no tomorrow. And your monitor will shit in there lol. Create a system to clean that out quick and easy.
Badass! I'm working on building a 12'x24' building. Half for my Sulcatas winter home and half for a monitor enclosure. I got loads of inspiration from your build man! Keep up the good work!!
Okay doing as you asked.. smash that like. Been subscribed. Videos already paused...lol..as always I know I'm gonna enjoy the video.I see you been hard at it..I sure hope the build in doing turns out looking as good as yours. Using some of the ideas you have. Hope you don't mind. Have a good day
DUDE!! Great job on this enclosure. I am anxious to see how quick the water monitor takes to it. So will you build a similar enclosure when you get a croc monitor?
@@AndyGabbs I don't have near enough room for either a croc or water monitor so I have to live vicariously watching UA-cam. The best I could do is an Ackie or maybe a Savanna.
flex seal was a waste of money.. grout mix is cheap and works just as good. I also sprayed everything with a water sealer and that helped. I looked at flex seal but for the price I cant justify it. I built a 6x6 ft enclosure. It gets costy fast but so much fun.
Dude that habitat came out 🔥🔥🔥. I'm terrible at building stuff but I cant wait til I buy a home with a big basement..im turning it into my own little reptarium!! Great job tho bro..and you should deff name your moniter bob..cause thats my name..and its a sweet ass name😜 haha
Thats a really sweet enclosure. I need to make the one I have set for, we bought enough glass to make a nice enclosure for my tree frogs, toads, green and brown anole. Hope you have a great day. Oh put in some vids of the new foal and some new kids, I decided to sell my fainting babies, I really didnt need the nosey callin the spca cause my goats are falling over.
Talk about money pit with spray foam and spray flex , save $ use hard styrofoam and tubes of silicon as u can still get same effect less cost amazing enclosure tho 👌
You should paint the outside of the wire black for better viewing. Also next time, don't tip the bag water in with the fish as they stress in it and fowl the water. Also the monitor is going to claw holes in your pond liner so you might have a bad time lol.
Can you please tell me what kind of light exactly you use for a basking spot and what distance. I can't get mine past 122 at around 1 foot away and I'm using a 100 watt halogen bulb.
I wish you showed the doors more, I’m trying to make doors like that with wire mesh but I’m struggling to thing the best way for strength, is it one piece with a cut out or 4 put together?
What’s up looking good is the flex seal reptile safe non toxic I was thinking about using it too but want to make sure did u check into that or no but the build great lot work but pay off when it’s done
I come back every day to see if you uploaded again but you don’t upload that often and the recent was the spicy food challenge instead of more building
I know you probably said it, but you know how Marines are. We aren't the brightest crayon in the box. So my questions are how much did this cost you, and how long do you expect this build to last? I am in the process of building my water monitor a new enclosure.
I also have a asian water monitor that's 2 feet long in a 4x2x2. The bottom of of the tank is filled with water. My cage that I'm going to build 16x8x8. When your monitor gets to be 4 or 5 feet that water hole is not going to be big enough for him to swim in. Then what?
Amazing enclosure! New sub here! Would love for a in back if you could! I’m gonna be getting a water monitor in about 6months to a year after I get the enclosure mostly built because will be getting him or her hen there a hatchling so that will give me 6 months to finish the enclosure while they grow in a 75 gallon.
Off topic and My answer to this question currently is "ABSOLUTELY NOT!!" but is it safe to feed frozen raw chicken breasts that comes with sodium amd broth previously added?
Yea...... have a stitches kit handy. I have a 7 foot asian water monitor I bought at reptile show when he was like 5 inches long. He has out grown properly 20 fish tanks tell I just gave hem the spare bedroom. I've invested 9 years into hem and have been bitten 2 times by hem.... this last past time he reached to fast for a rat and got me on the hand for 30 stitches. What I've learned, is really no one should buy a powerful large monitor like this and I wish laws would be passed banning the sales of these type of reptiles. Yes he's tame, and didn't bit me intentionally... but these are very power lizards that have no place in a residential home. The belong in nature and left alone, and this is coming from someone who owns one and has raised it up from a few months old. Thay are and can become very tame and lazy, plus thay are very intelligent..... but thay will turn on you and test you from time too time. I promised you don't want to get a bite from an 50 pound adult water monitor
I’m well aware of what it takes to take care of an adult monitor. Keeping a monitor in 20 fish tanks was probably part of the problem. They aren’t meant to live in a fish tank. Understanding the animal and knowing what it wants/needs is a huge part of dealing with them. They are HIGHLY intelligent animals that need training and interaction. Any animals can turn on you at any second, dogs, cats, snakes, lizards, rabbits. Anything can cause you extreme pain, and lead to stitches. The idea that you think we need laws banning the ownership of these amazing animals just proves to me you haven’t necessarily put in the time to learn what the animal needs. Should everyone have one? No. But that doesn’t mean no one should.
Did you ever do a part 3 of the enclosure with the monitor .. I would really like to see
The fish part of the cage will be a pain man. The monitor and your fish are gonna dirty that up like no tomorrow. And your monitor will shit in there lol. Create a system to clean that out quick and easy.
Putting the work in.
Hey Andy it's looking really awesome. Can't wait to see when it's done. Have a great day!
Would love to see the final build. Also how well are the walls holding up to the waters nails?

Awesome!
Wow I have been missing out. Amazing work Andy!!
Going to be a cool space for your water monitor.
I bet its also been a huge learning experience.
Great video thank you!
Great video, nice build
Very Nice enclosure 🙌kutgw
DUDE!! Great job on this enclosure. I am anxious to see how quick the water monitor takes to it. So will you build a similar enclosure when you get a croc monitor?
When I get a crop monitor I want to do an outdoor 10x10x10

@@jeffdintexas definitely do not do a Savannah. Not because of space but because we don't know how to actually care for them.
Amazing!! Can't wait to see the finished product!!
These videos are awesome! The step by step journey is sooo dope to see esp cuz I have zero handyman/construction skills lmao
Looks really good Andy u done a real good job mate , you wanna be proud of ya self I really love it 😊
Great content!!!

Quite the process! Cool!
Nice job looks great
Badass build my dude! 50 fathoms is awesome! I live about an hour and a half from them.
Great vid... but that vid opening tho🤣🤣 “enter text here”

U got a vid of the monitor in there?

It definitely was not cheap, however this is the best way to do it if you want something that looks very natural.
Not worried that the nails scratch the pondliner and it will start leaking?
Nice job you did there
You should paint the outside of the wire black for better viewing. Also next time, don't tip the bag water in with the fish as they stress in it and fowl the water. Also the monitor is going to claw holes in your pond liner so you might have a bad time lol.
well, none of that happened.
@@AndyGabbs Lucky.
Got u!
really dope set up
Awesome job man
Looks good. Are you going to put some kind of hide box in.
Can you please tell me what kind of light exactly you use for a basking spot and what distance.

I wish you showed the doors more, I’m trying to make doors like that with wire mesh but I’m struggling to thing the best way for strength, is it one piece with a cut out or 4 put together?
One piece with the whole cut out, I used a staple gun to get the wire to stay on. I used ALOT of staples. 2 layers, one staple about every 1.5 inches
You can use liquid rubber instead of flex seal
Absolutly amazing, it's better than my house 😂
Hahahaha, thanks man!
What’s up looking good is the flex seal reptile safe non toxic I was thinking about using it too but want to make sure did u check into that or no but the build great lot work but pay off when it’s done
Where is the part 3?
good start to the video, i cant say anything more about the video yet since i'm only 56 sec in lol
Lol, well I appreciate it
Does anyone have any tips for a monitor enclosure?
Did you watch the video lol...there is quite a bit of information in here
Awesome build man. What type of cypress mulch did you use?
I come back every day to see if you uploaded again but you don’t upload that often and the recent was the spicy food challenge instead of more building
I took a big break, but I’m back now.
This is freaking awesome man ! You wanna help build a gator enclosure?
I know you probably said it, but you know how Marines are. We aren't the brightest crayon in the box. So my questions are how much did this cost you, and how long do you expect this build to last? I am in the process of building my water monitor a new enclosure.
Wouldn't the monitor's claws simply rip the pond liner causing leaks?
It was a very thick liner, I think it would have been ok :)
What do u use to keep the water clean
look good hope it will last
I also have a asian water monitor that's 2 feet long in a 4x2x2. The bottom of of the tank is filled with water. My cage that I'm going to build 16x8x8. When your monitor gets to be 4 or 5 feet that water hole is not going to be big enough for him to swim in. Then what?
I’d worry about the chemicals the flex seal produces what do you think?
No, after its completely dry its non toxic.
Ive heard it's good, seen people use it and reccomend it. It's expensive and needs dry time but it's safe.

One question where do you get your Asian water monitor who was the breeder
NERD
Would 6 by 6 by 4 be okay

Why did you paint it all black ? Why not green ?
Because I wanted black?
Score the walls

I would say no, monitors thrive on whole foods.

A year later how has the line r held up against his claws
I wish i knew, ill be making a video about all this soon
Way to go bonergarage!! 😂😂 love you bro
The monitor would probably eat the turtle
you sure this would cost less than what universal rock would of charged you to build one
Way less. Like 1/10th lol
Ah shit you messed up the text Andy . Unacceptable
What did I mess up?!
@Andy Gabbs the beginning of the video it says “Title Text Here”
