This makes me emotional. It's metaphoric way and the essence. I like it. It makes me sad, I relate to the story. Being ignored by someone you love is the most sadful thing in this world.
I think it is supposed to send a message, You will always be hurt or rejected by the one you love the most in the world no matter how hard or how much you want their affection and you want them to appreciate yours. When seen that way I am sure a lot of people will be able to relate to the little robot. I know i sure do.

Sad indeed. It's curious though, it's human nature to easily loose perspective when we're too close or too deep involved in something or someone it/who seems to touch us
@TheBoredomOtaku Exactly what I thought. Falling in love with someone that is indifferent and won't give anything in return, no matter how much you give, and are willing to give, for that person. In the end, you suffer so much you wish you could die. I've been there recently, but I've moved on. It's painful, but what don't kill you make you stronger.

@Redbloodedsky I guess it's also just simply to do with innocence, the robot did not understand that the coffepot could not love him or why. As I said before he wanted to win her affection so much and for her to appreciate him but sadly his efforts where in vein and he could not understand why and therefore in order to try make sense of why she could not love him he believed it was his own fault. Tis sad he simply couldn't see it the way the viewers might not realising she isn't alive.
Aww, poor guy. :( But maybe the coffee pot's face was in its top, on the lid? Maybe she was smiling at him the whole time, he just couldn't see it. Any other little robots out there, come to me, I'll help you. :)
@johhndough Not everything is supposed to be entertaining, but maybe most people forget that in a time where everything is supposed to catch your eye, be bright and colorful, sparkle, and dance. This is to me is thoughtful and reflective of the strife and disappointment we are subject to in this existence. Obviously the artist that created this put a lot of time and effort into it-- stop motion is a long and draw out process. The least you can do is be respectful and refrain from degradation.

captivating from the start! a really lovely little film...
