Thanks, same board I have and am thus far unable to get my dual rotary encoders for the GNS 430/530/GTN 650/750 setup. I'm sure I'm doing it wrong lol. I'm hoping this will be of help.
Great video mate! This video has finally convinced me to purchase the BU0836X for my Train Simulator controller project. Thanks indeed! Where did you purchase the single stranded telco wire?
Great Video mate, a lot easier for an old timer like me to understand ( more analogue than digital ). I am trying to build a CoPilot Gunner TEDAC for the Apache 64 in DCS using a BU0836X which seemed the easier route to go. If you ever do something with more depth on Rotary Encoder with built in switches let me know! Keep up the great work.
@@togatech1111 quick question for you, I am next to useless at soldering and was wondering if you knew of any crimp type cable end ( like a spade or similar ) for 24awg that would slide on to mini switches such as a PBS-110 or a mini toggle switch?
Hi thanks for watching. You can get spade crimps in various sizes or switches with screw terminals. I am not the best at soldering it just takes practice. I have also purchased switches that are pre wired these are useful if you use mini toggles as soldering them is tricky. 👍
@@togatech1111 Thanks for the info, I have tried googling the pre-wired switches but have not had much success, would you happen to know a link or who could supply these?? Thanks again.
@@subseauk Hi if you look for pre wired toggle switches on ebay you will find a number of choices from mini toggles to full size toggles. I tried to link them but that wouldn't work. Also I use screw terminal switches, female push on crimps and scotchlock BT connectors to joins wires. I hope this helps....
Just found this tutorial. Very detailed! Did you manage to increase the encoder speed so you don´t need 180 clicks to turn by 180 degrees? I read that it can be done by FSUIPC but I don´t know how?!?
hi enjoyed you video wonder could I ask for some advise. Leo Bodnar BBI-32 board, testing one rotary encoder (same as you use). can see it working in the Leo Bodnar software, and the windows game controller(joy.cpl). i can configure it uin MsFS202 seems to validate and safe but does not work in the game. adjust altidude increase /decrease (MSL). any help slowing going mad/ Regards John
Hi thanks for watching. It could be a number of things. First ensure you have a rotary encoders with a debounce circuit this gives smoother control when turning. Using Fs2020 game controls are simple key presses and you cannot alter the rate of the turn you could do this using FSUIPC. I hope this helps for the simplest solution is to check you have good quality encoders

Hi thanks for watching I am not sure what the problem could be sorry

Thanks for watching. It was left over from when I was a telecom engineer but you can find it on Ebay as cross connect or twisted pair telco cable.
@@togatech1111 thanks again mate. Your videos have helped me greatly.
Great vid buddy. Very detailed. Most helpful 👍🏻
Thanks 👍

Thanks gets more complicated with every new sim release 😩

Thanks for watching. You can increase the multiple in the code for FSUIPC this I believe will increase the number of degrees per click
Thanks, really helpful.
No problem thanks for watching

Could you tell me where you purchased the "jelly connectors"?
Hi just type BT jelly connectors in Ebay and you will find lots of suppliers. Thanks for watching
I tell you mate, you're fartin' sparks!
