    I have replaced the pipe on my 790 with a Dominator, and done the full exhaust on my 390 Adventure.
    The entire system for the 390 was under $300. (Pricing on eBay varies by +/- $100, so be careful.)
    I ordered from Europe, which if the Euro is low, can save you quite a bit.
    It's been on the 390 for well over a year and I am pleased with it. I am using the "hard" DB insert, and would not want to ride on the highway without it! - Frank

    Sounds deeper and 'stronger'.
    I have the Dominator end can on my 390, they are well made and a great price.

    Nice video. I never really cared about the exhaust sound of any of the bikes I have owned. To me the only real reason for a new exhaust is to save weight. Lots of people think their bike is faster because it is louder. Most reputable exhaust companies show the HP comparison between stock and theirs and the gain is minimal. That being said if you upgraded the entire exhaust system and the ECU that can add HP. I do wonder if these aftermarket exhausts have a spark arrestor ? I do believe they are mandatory in all National Parks. Keep the content coming

      @advmatt  3 місяці тому +3

      @@kevinsterner9490 the weight savings is worth it to me, even if the sound doesn't change much. I have given a lot of thought to the spark arrestor issue. As long as the catalytic converter isn't removed you are good to go. I don't know about the whole exhaust replacement. That could be a problem. I ha e never seen a bike checked, especially a plated bike.

    I have the Dominator OVR full exhaust system on my 390 ADV and it really makes a difference in the sound, as well as losing a lot of weight. Can't really tell if there is an increase in performance just by riding, however, there are a few UA-cam videos showing a definite increase. Enjoy the Tuareg!

    • @advmatt
      @advmatt  3 місяці тому

      I am sure with the correct fuel mapping tune there is a performance upgrade. Losing the weight and better sound was worth it alone.

  • @Brad-RB
    @Brad-RB 3 місяці тому +1

    Nice. It doesn't need to be loud; it just needs to sound good. On the Dominator website, the full systems use different cans than the one you used. I wonder what they sound like? I'll have to do some searching.
    If I end up getting a Tuareg 660 (I'm 90% sure), the full system should help lower the heat around the engine. I would probably wait until the warranty runs out.

      @advmatt  3 місяці тому

      If you replace the entire exhaust system there is a DIY kit for remapping the ECU. From what I remember it costs about $700. Check PNW channel. He did the whole exhaust system and was disappointed.

    Is it just me or did the Dominator can actually not make that much difference in the sound as compared to stock? It’s the cat that’s making the bike quiet, unfortunately.

    • @advmatt
      @advmatt  Місяць тому

      @@reinistraidas yeah, it is not a huge change in sound. The weight savings was significant. It's really hard to hear the difference in the video, but I does sound a little deeper. The Dominator on the Tenere 700 sounds better.

      @@advmattI’m waiting for my Mistral can. They are a small company in Italy that specializes in exhausts for italian bikes. I’ll see what that is like soon. Also, does the Dominator can have a removable baffle? You might try taking that out.

    The way they install the exhaust is the reason that keeps me away from buying this bike. Looks cool but is SO unpractical - this is ADV bike so you carry baggage.
    You can't install any real bag there because the exhaust gets in the way (all those spacers that disrupt the balance). A special muffler cover so that those bags don't burn and I'm 200% sure that you have 80C in those bags.
    The lack of a luggage rack as standard is another weird thing.

    • @advmatt
      @advmatt  2 місяці тому

      @@podunkman2709 most adventure bikes have exhausts like this. The T7 requires a new muffler that tucks in to keep from bending the frame. I keep my tent on the exhaust side. It works okay, but I do use an exhaust shield.
