I have been having trouble too. Some prints a fine but most are a disaster, even on the same plate. I have two photon monos that print with a 95% success rate, but the 6K, maybe 40%.
One thing I should point out is that on this printer, as well as other's I've used, the build plate does not tighten evenly when leveling. Once you tighten the Allen screws for the build plate, one side presses down on the LCD much harder than the other side. I've had to install a shim about the thickness of two pieces of paper on the right side where the plate tightens. This is because the plate mount is a fraction too wide and doesn't tighten evenly. For a shim I use a leftover anti static material I get when ordering Arduino parts. It's not effected by moisture, alcohol or resin.

I would like to know why nobody references actual dimensional accuracy for these printers. A lot of users may not want to print only monsters and fairies, but would like to make serious parts for things like robotics and other mechanical devices, where accuracy and tolerances really matter. Can you point us in the right direction for any of this information?
Absolutely! The general reason that no one talks about it is that these screens have a known and fixed resolution that you enter into the slicer. Unlike an FDM printer where you have to rely on a motor going very specific distances and putting out precise amounts of filament, this will always print the part exactly the right dimensions as determined by the screen pixels. There is tuning to do though just like any printer based on the specific resin and exposure time. I've been doing this recently on my new printer where I print a test print and measure the results based on exposure time. Maybe this would be a good idea for a video? Let me know!
Having a serious issue with my printer no matter what slicer I use it will not print. Nothing on the build plate or even the Fep it's like the screen isn't printing it lights up but it lights up the whole screen faintly like an exposure test and that's it. Funny thing is though if I print the test print it does it perfectly. What am I doing wrong here. It recognises the file on the printer screen with the picture etc but won't print anything.

This resin printer seems to have a bigger build plate than other resin printers. Please correct me if I am wrong. Would this resin printer be a good first time resin printer without having to edit G code or slicer settings?
This is a larger resin printer than a lot of the others on the market. A couple of other things, resin doesn't use gcode, so there's nothing to edit there. You will have to learn resin settings and slicer settings just like any 3D printer.
You need to rinse the parts. They will have left over resin on the outside ven if you let it sit. You don't need a washing vat though, just a tupperware dish and maybe a toothbrush.

I can never get things off the build plate if it's directly on there. The test print nearly messed up my plate and came apart in pieces. How do you get passed this? Did I level wrong? xD
It can sometimes be very difficult. First, you should be able to get one off with a good, flat metal scraper. Second, make sure you minimize the contact with the bed. Don't use sleds. Third, if you really get tired of it, see my video on the Wham Bam Flex Plates.
I cant get my mono x 6k to even print the test print correctly. Prints are constantly falling off of supports or printing crooked. Sometimes it doesnt even print anything beyond the first few layers. I previously had a Elegoo Mars v1 and it printed fine from the get go.
@@billiediercks1990 Not really. It prints fine now. All i did was add a magnetic plate to the build arm for easy removal. I have printed several things now and it seems to work fine. Havnt tried the test print since.
Just a question I have one of these and have had problems with resin curing on the top of the build plate. To solve this I have made a black out cover to cover the printer all the time. I also have the Wash & Cure and use 99% IPA. The resin in the bin gets cured on the SS cage that goes in it. Have you had any of these problems?
It sounds to me like your printer and Wash and Cure are in direct (or indirect) sunlight. If that's true, you need to shield that from the printer. Blinds or curtains.
Hi Kersey, you have the best review, thank you! Could you check with your great contact at Anycubic if it actually comes with the screen protector? It seems so, but in some reviews people put that "extra" protector on top of the one that comes with...
I just got mine tonight and ran into some confusion with this same subject. It's hard to follow the printed manual accurately because the translation from Chinese to English is not great. It did seem to insinuate that you want to remove the screen protector that it ships with, and install the new one (provided) that some people are calling an "extra" one. This seemed kind of obvious for me because the screen protector it shipped with had a good amount of light swirly dust scratches on it, so it didn't seem like it was supposed to stay on like that. I removed it and replaced with the provided new screen protector.
@@akayeworld3506 I think we are not talking about the same things, they are 2 different things. My printer (like everyone else's) came with a protector that we're trying to figure out what it is. It is the same as one of the screensaver protectors (the one with a black tab). Note that the extra protector (or the only one, which came to install immediately) has 2 protectors on it, one with a black tab and one with a red tab. The printer looks like it came with a screen protector installed and with it, one of those screen protectors protector, with a black tab, that is, it must have already come with a protector installed, I think. That's the question, was that black flap protector that came on all of us's printers, was it directly protecting the screen or was it the protector's protector and was it protecting the pre-installed screen protector? That's the big question.
No problem at all. I use the Anycubic Wash and Cure Plus which works perfectly with this printer and the regular 4K version. I bought mine on Amazon and they're running a great deal on it now: amzn.to/3DmOS8L The plate literally just sits down in it and cleans the whole thing.
Got my X 6K today and gosh those fans are noisy! Do they ever shut up or at least get more quiet after the bottom layers are done? I'm at layer 91 and it still sounds like a fighter jet on takeoff!
Well, I don't know if my tolerance is different than yours or you got some different/messed up fans, but I've never noticed. Mine's in my workspace/garage though and noise isn't much of a concern.
@@kerseyfabs I used stock settings on chitubox as well as on the printer itself, and the resin is ANYCUBIC 3D Printer Resin, 405nm. As far as the failure type, the prints would start to stick properly and then fail halfway through.
@@kerseyfabs just found out my vat wasn’t sealed properly from the factory. I tried printing twice and after the second time I noticed a puddle of resin under my printer. Turns out the resin had leaked through the vat, and into the printer from the top on the screen and out the bottom where the fans are. I have been in contact with ANYCUBIC trying to get the matter resolved.
The default settings have worked quite well for me. That will greatly depend on resin though as well as factors like room temperature. You may have to manually tune. Look at the flat printing tests to get started.
Between the 4K and 6K? Some. You can definitely get smoother straight walls from the 6K than the 4K (from preliminary testing). I haven't done an in-depth side by side on prints though.
Hi Kris! Any settings you can recommend? I'm familiar with 3D printing basics and have an Elegoo Mars 2. Unfortunately, the only print I've had successful with this is the Anycubic Test Cube. My printer does not recognize their Workshop Slicer (Anycubic sent me the lastest version but it still isn't working). I've been using Lychee and have tried a dozen different settings (pretty standard recommended settings that are out there) and I've had constant failures with the supports and not sticking to the baseplate. My lift distance/speed, exposure time, etc., all are the recommended ones but still FAILURES. I am so, so frustrated but maybe you can work some magic for me. Or, IF ANYONE ELSE COULD GIVE ADVICE, IT WOULD BE APPRECIATED. Regards, Tom
@@milhausemilhause5502 Thanks! I've done that three times. I wonder why the Anycubic test print file prints with no issues but everything else is terrible? :(
I've been looking in to this printer for a little while and have been coming across a lot of reviews mentioning failed supports and just failed prints in general. All seem to be shortly after launch though. Has anyone experienced better results from any software updates or perhaps newer machines not having the same problems?
I just got mine in the mail and set it up tonight - now researching which slicer to invest time in learning. From what I'm reading so far it seems that the Anycubic proprietary software causes a lot of failed prints. Most people are suggesting Lychee as alternative. Good luck!
@@kerseyfabs As it turned out I was able to get onto a pre-order and I've had my 6k for about a month now. I have to say it feels a bit like Anycubic just threw some new numbers into an advert to try to sell some left over hardware, because there are issues with this printer that the standard Mono X doesn't have (the lack of RERF support being the big one). It's also mind-bogglingly slow, it's far slower than my old Elegoo Mars Pro - and that had a colour screen! I think all things considered I wish I had gone for the Elegoo Saturn instead or maybe continued saving up and gone for the Jupiter.
@@Vormulac1 I had never used a RERF before. I had always just ran a few test prints at different speeds to find it. So that's news to me. If I remember correctly, Uncle Jessy was able to get some really fast layer times on this machine too.
@@kerseyfabs Using Anycubic basic grey resin I find 2 second layers work ok, but a file that takes 6 hours on my Mars Pro will take closer to 20 hours on the 6K - and that's with 0.05 layer height and recommended settings! Crazy.

Could you maybe talk a bit about wash & cure machines for the Mono x 6k? I'm not sure which machine to get that will fit the build plate.
No problem at all. I use the Anycubic Wash and Cure Plus which works perfectly with this printer and the regular 4K version. I bought mine on Amazon and they're running a great deal on it now: amzn.to/3DmOS8L
The plate literally just sits down in it and cleans the whole thing.
@@kerseyfabs That's awesome! Thanks very much for the info!
I ordered the photon mono x about a week ago. Looking forward to it.
I've been using mine for a while now and it's a great printer! Enjoy!
how do i do this without the wash and cure station
Do you know how much does the software cost? Is it a subscription?
The Anycubic software is free and there are other free slicers too.
Hi, one question:
This printer works with STL or OBJ files?
The slicer is what handles the models, not the printer directly. There are slicers that will process both STLs and OBJs.
the target is hard after constraction ?
The models are hard after printing and then fully-cured and non-tacky after going through the curing station.
@@kerseyfabs thank you so much
My first print failed, I’m wondering if I didn’t zero the build plate properly
It depends. How did it fail? Stock settings? Pretty standard resin?
@@kerseyfabs I used stock settings on chitubox as well as on the printer itself, and the resin is ANYCUBIC 3D Printer Resin, 405nm. As far as the failure type, the prints would start to stick properly and then fail halfway through.
@@AceUndaunted27 You may need to relevel or increase the cure times in the base layers.
Where do I find this Cad Bane File?!
By chance, are the vat and build plate the same on the 4k/6k, despite the larger print area?
Yes, the vat and the plate are the same.
Yes, size wise. The plate in the 6K has the new pattern etched in.
how long its take to print each designs? Also the measurement of prints ?
The print time is directly tied to the height of the model. A model that's about 110mm tall may take around 5-6 hours.
Love my Mono X but this 6K one is nothing but headaches for me. Models keep breaking off supports no matter what I do
I'm sorry to hear that. I would either use beefier supports OR increase my layer time to improve strength.
I think this will be my first resin printer
Awesome Bill! The trick to resin is just getting into the flow of it. Develop a process that works for you.
I don't suppose you have tested any different settings on this one yet? Having issues dialling mine in (failures galore) but I am well new at this.
The default settings have worked quite well for me. That will greatly depend on resin though as well as factors like room temperature. You may have to manually tune. Look at the flat printing tests to get started.
I apologize if I didn't understand it.
Is there any difference in the printing quality?
Between the 4K and 6K? Some. You can definitely get smoother straight walls from the 6K than the 4K (from preliminary testing). I haven't done an in-depth side by side on prints though.
hi, i have a anycubic mono x 4k , can i change my screen 4k to 6k ? its possible ?
I don't believe they offer an upgrade path at this time.
You can try better leveling building plate
@@milhausemilhause5502 Thanks! I've done that three times. I wonder why the Anycubic test print file prints with no issues but everything else is terrible? :(
Is the 6k a sls printer ?
It's an SLA printer. It uses an LCD screen and liquid resin.
Amazing video!!!👍👍👍
Thank you! 👍
Good luck!
@@akayeworld3506 Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it! I'd be curious to hear your thoughts after some use, if you have the time.
Great video, I have one on order. Where did you get that hair dryer from?
Thanks! Check the description. 😉 I knew people would be interested.
@@kerseyfabs thank you - that’s a bit expensive - do you really need this air pressure?
@@kerseyfabs i am interested in the gloves you are using :D great Video!
Great video. Killer job in the comments too. 10/10
I'm really thinking of getting one 🤔
I'm having trouble finding the correct workshop download file for mono 6k

@@hohhan1978 thanks I'll check it out, actually stayed up all night dialing in got some decent prints but not 6k quality
Is AA works fine with this one?
Yes! I just did a print with and without AA on a diagonal wall and it worked great to remove the stair stepping at 4x.
@@kerseyfabs This is awesome! Thanks for response)
Anycubic are saying it might be 6 months before these things are available :( gutted.
Shortages and shipping issues are affecting everyone. That sucks!
@@kerseyfabs I got mine a few days ago.
I definitely don't find it slow, so I'm not sure which resin/settings you're using. I'm running 2.4 second layers with the last resin I used. Is that slow or are you not able to achieve that? If I remember correctly, Uncle Jessy was able to get some really fast layer times on this machine too.
@@kerseyfabs Using Anycubic basic grey resin I find 2 second layers work ok, but a file that takes 6 hours on my Mars Pro will take closer to 20 hours on the 6K - and that's with 0.05 layer height and recommended settings! Crazy.
Everyone Brags and I got one and i can't make it work
Dude that sucks! Is it cold where you're printing? I'd ask if your bed is leveled properly but that sounds insulting. Can you even print the demo print?
@@kerseyfabs I have it on my office so the temperature is no issue, I have level it and change the exposure settings. I even got a different resin
I just don’t know what else to try
How does it fail or does that first layer never stick?
What is IPA?
In this case, Isopropyl Alcohol.
I cannot get anything to stick.
I know it's been about a week and I hope you've had some luck. The only things I can recommend in general are:
1) Relevel the bed per the instructions.
2) Clean the build plate with IPA.
Other than that, there's not much else to do other than try another resin if all else fails.
It was the slicer. Went to lychee. Successful prints each time.
I think you should protect your lungs. Cancer isn't a joke
No mask while washing the models, no gloves after that either. Rubbing his nose while handling a freshly washed model. What a badass!
Tip : put it in 1.25x speed
That's how I watch my own content. 😁
@@kerseyfabs awesome
@@kerseyfabs do you think this printer is worth it. I’m really thinking about buying it
It's one of the two resin printers I run. I can recommend it because I use it and love the results.
@@kerseyfabs ok I’ll try to get my hands on one.
Honestly ? Comparing the models from the two printers. I have actually more details and crispyness on my photon mono x 4k. than you pulled of the 6k .
Im sorry I'm going to tell you all the truth here. I bought this thing and played with it for 3 days. It can't print for SHIT!
Those face masks are 100% useless for this purpose. Don't use it.
