If we don't stand for are faith, and understand the apologetics necessary to reach people then we will be a failure. There have been debates in history that could have changed things for the worse, but godly men stood up for the faith. That's why we dont believe arianism today. Because someone fought for the doctrine of the trinity during the Council of Nicea, and others fought for the other important doctrines as well when the church slipped. If someone doesn't stand for what is right we will become corrupted. I've witnessed on the street with Muslims. apologetics, and understanding gose a long way. But also if you don't understand your own stuff the conversation could switch, and you could be swayed to be a Muslim, because your not equipped. How can you reach people in a belief system, and culture you don't know? Even Paul used the people's beliefs of God's to his advantage, and also their poets writings.
I can totally appreciate your sentiment. However, debates are a way we can weigh the evidence and learn to strengthen the defense of our faith. Peter 3:15, “always be ready to give a defense of the faith that is in you.” Debates also plant seeds in those who both watch them and participate in them. I can lead to soul winning. IMO If the word of God is being discussed then the Kingdom is being propagated!

Today, you can see the smartest person on earth claimed that something to be true, eveyone believed him, but on the next day he was exposed he said that only because it benefit him. In exodus, the first generation saw all kind of miracles from god, and yet none of them had gotten into Canaan because of their lack of faith. And we all knows seeing something like the ocean split apart is more amazed for the people on that day than today. It's abour the relationship, love, faith and whether you can really humble yourself down to actually believe in Him. I’m a Christian & I loved watching the debate. One thing I would point out that does not sit right with me, is Imam interrupting James speaking on several occasions. Other than that on both parties they done great & are very well spoken, knowledgeable & logical.
Great discussion, both men are incredibly intelligent, and the Imam brought up some good points that I feel Dr. James answered incredibly well. I was born and raised as a Christian, and I ultimately believe that the truth can be found through the word of Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, I love all of you, my fellow human beings, beings of the almighty Lord, whom I love and fear the most. I hope for more friendly theological discussions like this. I see a lot of people in the comment-section disregarding each others faiths, we should not do that. I don’t know man. Every time I see one of these debates there is nothing about the Muslim scholars that fulfills me or excites me. I’m a Christian , so I may be biased , but I swear , trying to be as objective as I can be , the Christian scholars throughout all the debates I’ve witnessed were well researched and backed up their arguments not only on passages from the Bible , but the Qu’ran as well , whereas the Muslim scholars just recycled the same cliche arguments about the many versions of the Bible and so on so forth. I was just expecting something more from the Muslim perspective. Something that could actually keep me engrossed into their sayings. It may be just me though , I don’t know. I respect how he uses Islamic Jargon. For example instead of just translating 'ayah' to verse he uses ayah. Even with 'Surahs' he says chapter. Although there's nothing wrong with translating, it gets to show that He has taken his time to learn about our religion too, which allows me to respect him.

I love this discussion. I am a Muslim who converted to Christianity and listening to this confirms my decision: very respectful! I love Muslims and my upbringing as a muslim have made me a stronger Christian. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Peace is what we need because God is in charge and He doesn’t need us to violently try to make people agree with us. Lovely discussion, great questions and great answers. My only issue is that Imam seems to try to win the debate by out-talking his opponent and doesn't listen for the answers. It's like as soon as James knows the answer, Imam moves onto a new question and doesn't let him finish. Apart from my frustration in this area, wonderful content was covered and I am very impressed :)
@@surreal2958 If the interruption of the Imam was to remind James to stay on topic, the Imam would be returning to the same question. This would have held James to account, forcing James to answer the questions properly. But alas, the Imam is the one asking many different questions and changing topics. I think the reason the Imam doesn't return to his original questions is because he felt was answered adequately by James. This is why the debate was distasteful to me, the Imam didn't want to actually debate the points, but rather to "out-talk" his opponent. I reckon the Imam felt threatened, and his instinctive defence was to constantly change topics in order to catch James out by latching onto maybe 1 thing that James doesn't answer well. It's a beggar's strategy really. Apart from that, I liked the respect between the two! But that was just my analysis of what was happening :)

God cannot be born and Jesus was born, so those two people cannot be one and the same. So God had no beginning. Jesus (peace be upon him) had a beginning. And the Bible says that no one has ever seen God at any time. This is very clear, John 1:18 it says, no man has seen God at any time. In 1 John, no man has seen God at any time; even Jesus’ own statement in John 5 and 37 -Jesus says: and the Father Himself which has sent me has borne witness of me and you have neither heard his voice or seen his face at any time and Jesus was standing right there amongst them and Jesus claimed that God’s knowledge was greater than his!!!
What i find interesting about the discussion was that the muslim never listened to James. It was just questions that didn't relate to one another and when James answered them he either deflected or asked another unrelated question. Yes I have this issue. I am afraid I will forget my response so I cannot pay as much attention to what is being said as I should. This is why I dislike gatherings where you are forced to speak because then all I will think about is what I am going to say & not listen carefully to others. This goes back to the fear I had in school when being forced to answer questions when randomly called on & give speeches in class to all my peers. I think it is a childhood trauma.

Love the graciousness and respect that these two scholars extend to each other. As a Christian, I think Christ would have it no other way. And quite honestly, I had to laugh to myself when James was questioned about all the different versions of the Bible and all the different denominations of Christianity. All these differences is why Christ kept telling his disciples to remain as one and be of one mind. I think now, in 2021, more than ever, Christians really need to lay their differences aside and strive for unity. And I hope Christians and Muslims continue to reach across the divide with regards to productive dialog such as this.
Exactly. That’s what makes me very frusterated because Jesus calls us as followers of Him to be unified. We are so divided and we can hate each other which is murder in our heart. I find myself doing this with hyper charismatics or hyper reformist. And i start to question like Lord, why are there a billion and on denominations and translations? It can really confuse me. But the truth is that Jesus died for our sins and proved himself to be God and the only way to Him.

You can live like Jesus all day and be a “good person” but that’s not what makes you right with God. It is by grace you are saved through faith apart from works. The only way to be right with God is through His Son’s work on the cross. There is no amount of good works you can do. We all fall short of His standards. Now don’t get me wrong, if your faith doesn’t show your life transformed something is off. You must believe only in the One He sent. All religions don’t lead to God just as all roads don’t lead to New York. Jesus said He was the Only way to the Father. The religious leaders were like that during biblical times. They obeyed God with their actions but their heart were far from Him.

It has always been an attitude of true Christians to be respectful. I have deeply understood why is it so, when I personally went through the scriptures on a daily basis in full humility. Such a good debate, just wish Dr. White was able to finish his thoughts before he was interrupted. All in all this makes me so happy to see, both side enlightened which should always be the goal.
I am disappointed with this debate because Dr. James White is knowledgeable of both the Quran and Bible; however the Imam has a superficial understanding of Christianity, and he even admitted to not knowing much of the gospel. The Imam kept mentioning his weak arguments of the various books included and not included, the different versions of the Bible, and denominations. The debate and dialogue would of been better if there was an Imam who actually read and studied the Bible like Dr. White who has read and studied the Quran. It is unfortunate that there are denominations in Christianity, but he is not being fair to both sides since Islam also has denominations. Overtime, there has been different versions and translations of the Bible (for instance Old English to new, from Greek to English, and what should be included vs what should not be included). Overall, another Imam with a better understanding of Christianity would of carried this debate further.
Which bible? Bibles are collection of books written by anonymous Greek and Roman pagan who never met Jesus. Jesus was neither a Greek nor spoke Greek. He spoke and preached his messages to his disciples in Aramaic language. There is absolutely no gospel of Jesus in Aramaic ever found not even potion. So we can’t take bibles by Greek and Roman pagan as authentic messages of Jesus . There are intentional or unintentional corruption including personal understanding of gospel writers included in bibles.
Oops whether weak arguments or superficial or not Dr. James still couldn't answer them clearly. They both have some knowledge about the book lol. Dr. White isn't a scholar in the Quran and neither Imam said he is an expert in the bible. The questions he asked were basic. The Imam was knowledgeable enough but most of the time unfortunately even the basic questions about the bible can't get answered by Christians. Just because you studied and read the Quran once doesn't make you an expert on the Quran or on Dr. White's part. He is going to mention the various versions of the bible since it is confusing. Even to a child, it would be confusing. I would also like a Christian expert to clearly answer basic questions. To most 1+1+1 is not 1.

Im sorry, this is indicative of most debates with Muslims that i have heard. They ask questions, interrupt the answers/ explanations and respond with conjectures. They dont listen, they just wait to respond. He is not using equal weights and measures. He applies one standard to his book and uses a diffrent one for the Bible. I see this constantly. If you want to have discussion, it needs to be a discussion.

Its amazing how humanity has denied Jesus Christ. Our savior and Lord. Lived a sinless life, healed the sick, raised the dead, taught love and forgiveness, died and was resurrected yet people still deny him. It’s mind boggling.
It's not that people has denied Jesus's existed (PBAH) we just respect him in a different manner. His mission was to spread the message of one god, and that we believe that he is a messenger . We respect him, and care for him greatly, like all the other respected prophets, but when it comes to who's most powerful, we believe that god/Allah is. I think white is a knowledgeable scholar. I think he knows about Islam. As he spoke few Arabic sentences. Which means he has done research. Yet his angle of approach is a different one. He is satisfied with 80% consistency as word of God. We Muslims believe in 100% authenticity. That gap needs to be closed. But emotions gets in the way.

Once you have faith in Jesus Christ the true vine, you can come to God. I truly believe that Christian's get an experience with the Lord. For me, once I came to Him I was healed of cancer 36 years ago and even today do I experience great healings and blessings from Him. The Holy Spirit grieves when I consider other religious beliefs or worldly things. Having the Holy Spirit is our experience that other religions do not have. Many get demon spirits and by those fruits we know them.

What Jesus peace be up him says (follow The Ten Commandments) and what Paul says completely contradict each other. It is impossible to follow both. Similar is true to Sahih Bukhari. Each of the apostles served as referring to Yeshua in their own way for a good reason. Humble servant, son of man, son of god, and king of all kings. They were aimed at all the different readers whether being a Jew, gentile, slave, master, or pagan. There are extremely important reasoning behind each one of the gospels and why they used the wording they used to paint the picture they desired. WHAT IS THE QUR'AN? 1. (Definition of the Qur'an, Part-1) The Qur'an is the Arabic Speech of Allah which he revealed to Prophet Muhammad AlaihiSalaam (47:2) through Angel Jibreel AlaihiSalaam in its precise meaning and exact wording. It is the literal, uncreated Word of Allah. The word 'Qur'an' is frequently mentioned in the Glorious Book itself (See for instance 2:185, 10:37, 10:61 and 17:106). The Qur'an clearly states to whom, when, in what language, how and why it was revealed: It was revealed in the month of Ramadan (2:185) on the Night of Power or Decree 'Laylat-ul-Qadar' (97:1): We revealed it on a blessed Night.' (44:3) It was revealed in the Arabic language: 'Surely, We have made it in the Arabic language so that you may be able to understand it.' (43:3) It was revealed in portions, each of which was written and committed to memory as soon as it was revealed, and its revelation was spread over twenty three years of the Prophet's life, during which time he was occupied solely with the spread of its message. "It is a Qur'an which We have divided [into parts from time to time] so that you may recite it to the people at intervals; and We have revealed it by stages." (17:106) 2. The Qur'an is the Highest Form of Revelation: Although the Gracious Qur'an was revealed piecemeal, the entire revelation is one whole. It is the Word of Allah revealed through the Angel Jibreel AlaihiSalaam. Revelation takes place in three forms: 'It is not fitting for any human being that Allah should speak to him except by revelation, from behind a veil or by sending a messenger that reveals-- by His permission-- whatever Allah will.' (42:51). The first of these modes is called wahy, which is used here in its literal sense of al- Isharaarah as-saree'ah, that is to say, a quick suggestion into the mind of man. The Qur'an is unique. It is inimitable and is protected by Allah from all forms of of corruption. The word Qur'an is a verbal noun which means 'the reading' or 'recitation'. The Qur'an is Protected by Allah from Corruption: Previous revelations had been corrupted intentionally, but the Qur'an's final message to the entire humanity is exactly the same in its present form as it was revealed to Prophet Muhammad صلي الله عليه وسلم more than 1400 years ago. The Divine Scriptures that were revealed before ISLAM lost their original forms overtime; they are either incomplete or not fully accurate. In the case of the Qur'an, however, Allah placed revelations into our Prophet's memory. In addition, after he received each revelation, the Prophet صلي الله عليه وسلم told his numerous companions to write them down, thereby ensuring the Qur'an's preservation in its original textual form. Caliph Abu Bakr (632-634) had the Qur'an compiled into a single copy, and Caliph Uthman (644-656) had copies of it sent to important Islamic cities. The following verses explain how the Prophet of ISLAM صلي الله عليه وسلم tried to remember the revelations, and how Allah helped him do so: Do not move your tongue trying to hasten it. Its collection and recitation are Our affair. So when We recite it , follow its recitation. Then its explanation is Our concern. (Qur'an, 75:16-19). As the verses maintain, our Prophet صلي الله عليه وسلم remembered the Qur'an in a unique way, for Allah implanted its verses in his mind. As his companions wrote it all down while he was still alive, in compliance with His promise, each of its letters has remained unaltered since the beginning of its revelation over 1400 years ago. Therefore, Allah's revelation has survived intact to our day. The text of the Qur'an will remain as it was revealed until the end of time. It is protected by Allah Himself. Allah says in the Qur'an: "Truly, We Who have sent down the Reminder (ie the Qur'an) and We will assuredly preserve it [from corruption]. Qur'an, 15:9. Allah All Mighty also says about it: "It is an honourable, inimitable Book; falsehood cannot come to it from before it or from behind it; [It is] sent down by the All-Wise, Worthy of all praise. " (Noble Qur'an, 41:41-42).

By your own admission you have only looked at the verse but perhaps did not read it. The verse is not about violence. Many said Allah can destroy whom he wants. They say this is how Allah wants Muslims to pray. Instead of calling me names you should try to correct me by writing what the verse actually says.

If Allah were to curse He would most definitely say, " I ( We) will curse ( destroy) Jews and Christians", not " May Allah destroy( curse) Jews and Christians" Secondly, the context of the verse makes it clear that cause of Allah's PURPORTED wrath is that Jews say Ezra is the son of Allah and Christians say Messiah( Jesus) is the Son of Allah. In the first place Jews never say Ezra is the son of Allah; that would be blasphemy for them. Christians do say Messiah is the Son of Allah. When I say Messiah is the Son of Allah it is not in a biological sense but in an endearing spiritual sense. I have no reason to believe Allah will curse( destroy) me for expressing my faith. On the contrary, Allah has blessed me in so many different ways. Third, Allah is Holy and is also the God of Jews and Christians. He only creates and blesses and does not destroy or curse. It is evil man who intends to destroy or curse. The words, " May Allah destroy ( curse) Jews and Christians were most definitely concocted and incorporated by an Arab scribe who hated Jews and Christians. At the time of writing he did not anticipate that 14 centuries later netizens will be able to nail his lie. By attributing such abominable words to Allah , Muslim fundamentalists are inadvertently bringing Allah's Holy name to disrepute. Imam Tawheedi of Australia says many verses were fraudulently added in the Quran by unscrupulous scribes at the behest of their rulers. The Quran also abounds in scientific errors, inconsistencies theological blunders , factual anomalies and historical mistakes, all tell tale signs of human component.

Surah 22: 65 and 21:32 claim Allah restrains the sky from falling. The sky is just a region vertically above up to where the naked eye can see. It is not a material body, in the form of a ceiling or dome, that can fall under gravity. The two verses reflect the erroneous scientific notion of the sky held by 7th century Arabs and not of an omniscient Allah.
It seems to me with all respect that Imam knows very very little about Christianity, and should not position himself to run such a debate. And I liked the christian scholar who looked very well educated about Quran, although of course still missing important points, where I wished Imam would have cleared it better.

The Core Bible is the same, some churches added few more books to support their denomination, that doesn't mean Bible is different or not the word of God. With all due respect, when the Muslim Professor was talking about "The different versions of the bibles" and how many bibles there are. There are different translations of the same bible and different ways of essentially saying the same thing. If you look at the same verse from two different bibles you'll see very minor differences, but it's the same verse.

If we don't stand for are faith, and understand the apologetics necessary to reach people then we will be a failure. There have been debates in history that could have changed things for the worse, but godly men stood up for the faith. That's why we dont believe arianism today. Because someone fought for the doctrine of the trinity during the Council of Nicea, and others fought for the other important doctrines as well when the church slipped. If someone doesn't stand for what is right we will become corrupted. I've witnessed on the street with Muslims. apologetics, and understanding gose a long way. But also if you don't understand your own stuff the conversation could switch, and you could be swayed to be a Muslim, because your not equipped. How can you reach people in a belief system, and culture you don't know? Even Paul used the people's beliefs of God's to his advantage, and also their poets writings.
I can totally appreciate your sentiment. However, debates are a way we can weigh the evidence and learn to strengthen the defense of our faith. Peter 3:15, “always be ready to give a defense of the faith that is in you.” Debates also plant seeds in those who both watch them and participate in them. I can lead to soul winning. I was born and raised as a Christian, and I ultimately believe that the truth can be found through the word of Jesus Christ. I’m a Christian , so I may be biased , but I swear , trying to be as objective as I can be , the Christian scholars throughout all the debates I’ve witnessed were well researched and backed up their arguments not only on passages from the Bible , but the Qu’ran as well , whereas the Muslim scholars just recycled the same cliche arguments about the many versions of the Bible and so on so forth. This would have held James to account, forcing James to answer the questions properly. But alas, the Imam is the one asking many different questions and changing topics.
I think the reason the Imam doesn't return to his original questions is because he felt was answered adequately by James. This is why the debate was distasteful to me, the Imam didn't want to actually debate the points, but rather to "out-talk" his opponent. I reckon the Imam felt threatened, and his instinctive defence was to constantly change topics in order to catch James out by latching onto maybe 1 thing that James doesn't answer well. It's a beggar's strategy really.
Apart from that, I liked the respect between the two! But that was just my analysis of what was happening :)

In 1 John, no man has seen God at any time; even Jesus’ own statement in John 5 and 37 -Jesus says: and the Father Himself which has sent me has borne witness of me and you have neither heard his voice or seen his face at any time and Jesus was standing right there amongst them and Jesus claimed that God’s knowledge was greater than his!!!

Yes I have this issue. I am afraid I will forget my response so I cannot pay as much attention to what is being said as I should. This is why I dislike gatherings where you are forced to speak because then all I will think about is what I am going to say & not listen carefully to others. Love the graciousness and respect that these two scholars extend to each other. As a Christian, I think Christ would have it no other way. And quite honestly, I had to laugh to myself when James was questioned about all the different versions of the Bible and all the different denominations of Christianity. All these differences is why Christ kept telling his disciples to remain as one and be of one mind. I think now, in 2021, more than ever, Christians really need to lay their differences aside and strive for unity. And I hope Christians and Muslims continue to reach across the divide with regards to productive dialog such as this.
Exactly. That’s what makes me very frusterated because Jesus calls us as followers of Him to be unified. We are so divided and we can hate each other which is murder in our heart. You can live like Jesus all day and be a “good person” but that’s not what makes you right with God. It is by grace you are saved through faith apart from works. The only way to be right with God is through His Son’s work on the cross. There is no amount of good works you can do. We all fall short of His standards. Now don’t get me wrong, if your faith doesn’t show your life transformed something is off. You must believe only in the One He sent. All religions don’t lead to God just as all roads don’t lead to New York. Jesus said He was the Only way to the Father. The religious leaders were like that during biblical times. They obeyed God with their actions but their heart were far from Him.

My favourite Christian apologetic. When I decided to research into religions about 7 years ago, I learned so much from James White.
I am disappointed with this debate because Dr. James White is knowledgeable of both the Quran and Bible; however the Imam has a superficial understanding of Christianity, and he even admitted to not knowing much of the gospel. The Imam kept mentioning his weak arguments of the various books included and not included, the different versions of the Bible, and denominations. The debate and dialogue would of been better if there was an Imam who actually read and studied the Bible like Dr. White who has read and studied the Quran. It is unfortunate that there are denominations in Christianity, but he is not being fair to both sides since Islam also has denominations. Overtime, there has been different versions and translations of the Bible (for instance Old English to new, from Greek to English, and what should be included vs what should not be included). Overall, another Imam with a better understanding of Christianity would of carried this debate further.

Which bible? Bibles are collection of books written by anonymous Greek and Roman pagan who never met Jesus. Jesus was neither a Greek nor spoke Greek. He spoke and preached his messages to his disciples in Aramaic language. There is absolutely no gospel of Jesus in Aramaic ever found not even potion. So we can’t take bibles by Greek and Roman pagan as authentic messages of Jesus . There are intentional or unintentional corruption including personal understanding of gospel writers included in bibles.
Oops whether weak arguments or superficial or not Dr. James still couldn't answer them clearly. They both have some knowledge about the book lol. Dr. White isn't a scholar in the Quran and neither Imam said he is an expert in the bible. The questions he asked were basic. The Imam was knowledgeable enough but most of the time unfortunately even the basic questions about the bible can't get answered by Christians. Just because you studied and read the Quran once doesn't make you an expert on the Quran or on Dr. White's part. He is going to mention the various versions of the bible since it is confusing. Even to a child, it would be confusing. I would also like a Christian expert to clearly answer basic questions. To most 1+1+1 is not 1.

Its amazing how humanity has denied Jesus Christ. Our savior and Lord. Lived a sinless life, healed the sick, raised the dead, taught love and forgiveness, died and was resurrected yet people still deny him. It’s mind boggling.

I think white is a knowledgeable scholar. I think he knows about Islam. As he spoke few Arabic sentences. Which means he has done research. Yet his angle of approach is a different one. For me, once I came to Him I was healed of cancer 36 years ago and even today do I experience great healings and blessings from Him. What Jesus peace be up him says (follow The Ten Commandments) and what Paul says completely contradict each other. It is impossible to follow both. Similar is true to Sahih Bukhari. What Bukhari says (by the name of Hadith, or prophet speech) is just his opinion and some trash talk of the people and completely contradict with the Quran.

Each of the apostles served as referring to Yeshua in their own way for a good reason. Humble servant, son of man, son of god, and king of all kings. They were aimed at all the different readers whether being a Jew, gentile, slave, master, or pagan. There are three (3) questions I want to address: HOW COULD A MAN BE A GOD? HOW COULD GOD HAVE A MOTHER? HOW COULD A GOD BE CRUCIFIED?
1) HOW COULD A MAN BE A GOD?

2) HOW COULD GOD HAVE A MOTHER?
- From the OLD testament of the bible (i.e. biblical scriptures written before birth of Jesus Christ): The prophet Isaiah prophesised that “Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and she will call Him Immanuel” (Bible reference: Isaiah 7:14). Later, Isaiah prophesised “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this” (Bible reference: Isaiah 9:6-7).
- From the NEW testament of the bible (i.e. biblical scriptures written after birth of Jesus Christ): “In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you. Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favour with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. NOTE: Emmanuel means ‘God is with us’. While Jesus was on earth, he was simultaneously Son of God (being from God the father - Bible reference: John 1:14) and Son of Man (being conceived by a Virgin - Bible reference: Luke 1:26-37).
3) HOW COULD A GOD BE CRUCIFIED?
- “There is no one on earth who does what is right all the time and never makes a mistake.” (Bible reference: Ecclesiastes 7:20). “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Bible reference: Romans 6:23).
- Before the birth of Jesus, the prophet Isaiah prophesized that “Surely, he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Bible reference: Isaiah 53:4-6).
- “Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.[a] They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me- just as the Father knows me and I know the Father-and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life-only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.” (Bible reference: John 9:7-18)

Note: the bronze snake Jesus spoke of refers to Israel’s exodus from slavery in Egypt. God had made Moses make a bronze snake to be mounted on a pole so that anyone who was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake would be healed (Bible reference: Numbers 21:9).

WHAT IS THE QUR'AN?
1. (Definition of the Qur'an, Part-1)
The Qur'an is the Arabic Speech of Allah which he revealed to Prophet Muhammad AlaihiSalaam (47:2) through Angel Jibreel AlaihiSalaam in its precise meaning and exact wording. It is the literal, uncreated Word of Allah. The word 'Qur'an' is frequently mentioned in the Glorious Book itself (See for instance 2:185, 10:37, 10:61 and 17:106).
The Qur'an clearly states to whom, when, in what language, how and why it was revealed: It was revealed in the month of Ramadan (2:185) on the Night of Power or Decree 'Laylat-ul-Qadar' (97:1): We revealed it on a blessed Night.' (44:3)
It was revealed in the Arabic language: 'Surely, We have made it in the Arabic language so that you may be able to understand it.' (43:3)
It was revealed in portions, each of which was written and committed to memory as soon as it was revealed, and its revelation was spread over twenty three years of the Prophet's life, during which time he was occupied solely with the spread of its message.
"It is a Qur'an which We have divided [into parts from time to time] so that you may recite it to the people at intervals; and We have revealed it by stages." (17:106)
2. The Qur'an is the Highest Form of Revelation:
Although the Gracious Qur'an was revealed piecemeal, the entire revelation is one whole. It is the Word of Allah revealed through the Angel Jibreel AlaihiSalaam. Revelation takes place in three forms: 'It is not fitting for any human being that Allah should speak to him except by revelation, from behind a veil or by sending a messenger that reveals-- by His permission-- whatever Allah will.' (42:51).
The first of these modes is called wahy, which is used here in its literal sense of al- Isharaarah as-saree'ah, that is to say, a quick suggestion into the mind of man.
The Qur'an is unique. It is inimitable and is protected by Allah from all forms of of corruption. The word Qur'an is a verbal noun which means 'the reading' or 'recitation'.
The Qur'an is Protected by Allah from Corruption:
Previous revelations had been corrupted intentionally, but the Qur'an's final message to the entire humanity is exactly the same in its present form as it was revealed to Prophet Muhammad صلي الله عليه وسلم more than 1400 years ago.
The Divine Scriptures that were revealed before ISLAM lost their original forms overtime; they are either incomplete or not fully accurate. In the case of the Qur'an, however, Allah placed revelations into our Prophet's memory. In addition, after he received each revelation, the Prophet صلي الله عليه وسلم told his numerous companions to write them down, thereby ensuring the Qur'an's preservation in its original textual form. Caliph Abu Bakr (632-634) had the Qur'an compiled into a single copy, and Caliph Uthman (644-656) had copies of it sent to important Islamic cities. The following verses explain how the Prophet of ISLAM صلي الله عليه وسلم tried to remember the revelations, and how Allah helped him do so:
Do not move your tongue trying to hasten it. Its collection and recitation are Our affair. So when We recite it , follow its recitation. Then its explanation is Our concern. (Qur'an, 75:16-19).
As the verses maintain, our Prophet صلي الله عليه وسلم remembered the Qur'an in a unique way, for Allah implanted its verses in his mind. As his companions wrote it all down while he was still alive, in compliance with His promise, each of its letters has remained unaltered since the beginning of its revelation over 1400 years ago. Therefore, Allah's revelation has survived intact to our day.
The text of the Qur'an will remain as it was revealed until the end of time. It is protected by Allah Himself.
Allah says in the Qur'an:
"Truly, We Who have sent down the Reminder (ie the Qur'an) and We will assuredly preserve it [from corruption]. Qur'an, 15:9.
Allah All Mighty also says about it:
"It is an honourable, inimitable Book; falsehood cannot come to it from before it or from behind it; [It is] sent down by the All-Wise, Worthy of all praise. "
(Noble Qur'an, 41:41-42).

The verse is not about violence. It is about Allah invoking Allah to destroy Jews and Christians and therefore couldn't be of divine origin. I have debated this verse with other Muslims too in the past. Many said Allah can destroy whom he wants.

If Allah were to curse He would most definitely say, " I ( We) will curse ( destroy) Jews and Christians", not " May Allah destroy( curse) Jews and Christians"
Secondly, the context of the verse makes it clear that cause of Allah's PURPORTED wrath is that Jews say Ezra is the son of Allah and Christians say Messiah( Jesus) is the Son of Allah. In the first place Jews never say Ezra is the son of Allah; that would be blasphemy for them. Christians do say Messiah is the Son of Allah. When I say Messiah is the Son of Allah it is not in a biological sense but in an endearing spiritual sense. I have no reason to believe Allah will curse( destroy) me for expressing my faith. On the contrary, Allah has blessed me in so many different ways.
Third, Allah is Holy and is also the God of Jews and Christians. He only creates and blesses and does not destroy or curse. It is evil man who intends to destroy or curse. The words, " May Allah destroy ( curse) Jews and Christians were most definitely concocted and incorporated by an Arab scribe who hated Jews and Christians. At the time of writing he did not anticipate that 14 centuries later netizens will be able to nail his lie. By attributing such abominable words to Allah , Muslim fundamentalists are inadvertently bringing Allah's Holy name to disrepute.
Imam Tawheedi of Australia says many verses were fraudulently added in the Quran by unscrupulous scribes at the behest of their rulers. The Quran also abounds in scientific errors, inconsistencies theological blunders , factual anomalies and historical mistakes, all tell tale signs of human component.

You wanted to know scientific errors in the Quran. Surah 22: 65 and 21:32 claim Allah restrains the sky from falling. The sky is just a region vertically above up to where the naked eye can see. It is not a material body, in the form of a ceiling or dome, that can fall under gravity. The two verses reflect the erroneous scientific notion of the sky held by 7th century Arabs and not of an omniscient Allah.
It seems to me with all respect that Imam knows very very little about Christianity, and should not position himself to run such a debate.

Thats the issue on ground always. Not enough Imams are educated about Christianity and not many Christians are educated about Muslim faith. The Catholic Church is very educated about Muslim faith. They have many prolific Fathers who can debate it deeply and give the history from Judaism down to today. You will find more Catholic Fathers thaybknownthe muslim faith well. With all due respect, when the Muslim Professor was talking about "The different versions of the bibles" and how many bibles there are. There are different translations of the same bible and different ways of essentially saying the same thing. If you look at the same verse from two different bibles you'll see very minor differences, but it's the same verse.
