Intro 0:10 | The Mast Part #2 1:28
Hello Rollers! Welcome back to Middara! We catch up with Remi and Rook as they look to complete Day 1 of The Mast. Enjoy!
Correction:
13:47 I shouldn't have gained a combatant loot card because my character didn't defeat the Sickle. I'll be correcting this in upcoming scenario.
For those viewing this video, you will gain a loot card if the opponent dies via Dangerous Terrain, according to the Official FAQ
IF A COMBATANT DIES VIA DANGEROUS TERRAIN DO I STILL GAIN COMBATANT LOOT?
Yes. Dangerous Terrain counts as Defeating an opponent. Does it make sense? No. But it's fun and we want to encourage you to feel like a bad-ass. We'll add variant rules that can be added to change this ruling for those who want a more 'realistic' feel to the game. :p
Excellent scenario, they can deal a lot of damage, ouch. Thanks Adam.
They really can stack up fast. Have a great weekend Trev!
Great video Adam. This is a good one to see being played. Keep up the good work.
Will do! More coming very soon :)
Thanks for the support K!
Great Video.
13:56 I don't think you would get a Loot card for the Sickle because it was not defeated by an adventurer. Rules p. 55, "When an Adventurer Defeats an opponent, they draw the top card on the Combatant Loot deck."
Great catch J O! You're right on here. Even makes sense thematically. Well, I'll be removing that loot item in the next video. Thanks for the heads up and for watching!
I know this vid is old but with the new shipments coming, I am curious. The Cave sickles technically can get 3 attacks per sickle? So if you have 2 on Rook, they would roll a white and orange, and if sickle #1 hits the first hit, it then gets a FU attack. if it hits with the second attack, it would get a 3rd attack? Then the 2nd sickle would go and it could repeat the same successes and hit 3 times? Meaning 2 sickles could hit 6 times and cause some awesome damage? Great videos BTW, been watching them a lot lately :)
Thanks so much! I’m also looking forward to more of this game landing. I don’t have that rule info off the top off my heads as this was some time ago. Someone in the Rolling Solo FB Community will be able to help you for sure!
Apart from the nasty poison attack, this went swimmingly, I'd say. :) And since everyone got healed to full at the end of the scenario, not even the poison mattered much.
With a performance like this, Remi and Rook are sure to receive a stellar grade.
Thank you for uploading these, Adam. :)
No problem! It’s been fun so far. Onto Day 2 of The Mast! :)
Great series so far. One question though. At 5:20 couldn't you wait out of sight of the totem and trigger it on your next turn when you would have enough stamina to attack at least one of the Cave Sickles?
Hey! Yes, that could have been an option as the totem doesn’t activate unless a character can draw line of sight to it. Thanks for watching!
He could have done that, but that would have given him an urgency token. (You gain one if no monster has spawned or activated during the round) If you have 4 of them, the scenario is lost. Would not have been a problem in this short encounter.
Great video Adam. Are u planning a hellboy unboxing or runthrough?
Hello Ozzy! I didn’t pick that one up. So no plans currently!
Hi Adam! As always, thanks for an amazing playthrough ! Quick question: don’t you consider that the poison effect is specially damaging when playing with the 2 player variant? Am I the only one who sees it this way?
No problem Manuel! Hmm not sure. I can see what you mean though. Would be curious with the newest rule set whether that has changed?
Yes, this is changed with the new rules. Now you roll a purple die and deal its result as irreducible damage.
Nice play, just a few questions in the dark (as I don't have the game/the rules):
22:55 shouldn't the move be over to the left trough the difficult terrain, as that is shorter and less dangerous. Also, shouldn't it spend 2 movement points to leave that difficult terrain? (not that that last things matter)
27:20 aren't you forgetting there is a second cave sickle on the board for this card (the green one), that should actually still attack?
I agree it should have moved the other way.
Cave sickles ignore terrain so it does not need to use 2 movement points.
Agree, the second Cave sickle didn't act.
@@jonolsen8912 Also it would trigger at least one break attack from Rook regardless of its route, right?
@@jashinoosterling3707 Yes it should. I always forget the break attacks.
@@jonolsen8912 I can imagine, it might have saved you from a lot of damage and the poison, you are making it even tougher for yourself. From what i've read the game is brutal later on so try and remember :)
Thanks for the feedback guys! The Break Attacks are a tricky thing to remember for sure. Good eye!
Hello, thank you for the video. I hope I will get my game soon!!!
You talked about getting items at a higher loot level a bit. I don't think you shuffle all the lower level items when you pull a random item, that is only for consumable items, not "equipment".
Did you activate Cave sickle #5 at all after #4 did his 2 attacks? I totally missed it if you did.
This is correct, items do not get shuffled together, instead you draw from the current level deck.
Hey Jon! Good catch there. Didn’t specify consumables for that rule. Thanks for the feedback ! :)
Do you know when the ks2 promo box will ship? It’s been almost a year since we got the base game
I don't off hand. I'd reach out to SP and see what they say. Looking forward to all the new content for this one in the future too!
Hey just wondering were you got that line of site laser pointer, I really need something like that for the various games I play.
That is an Army Painter Target Lock laser pointer. Give that a search and you shall find ;)
@@RollingSolo Thanks
You bet!
That decoder only works if your computer blind. I can read it without any trouble.
If you’re trying to see things you certainly will. Most don’t want spoilers so they choose not to focus on it. :)
When you gain a loot card is that item considered shared with all party members? Or should the party member that kills the last one in the group get it? I ask because Rook is the one that killed the last cave sickle, but you gave the core item to Remi. Maybe this was done on accident since you drew the item later and just assigned it to Remi since it was her turn?
Ah! That might have been a slip on my part. It does go to the character that killed the last enemy to allow for the Combatant Loot cars to be killed. It just makes sense also!
At 22:59, why did the cave sickle move over the chasm. Why did it not move in the direction where the totem was originally?
Good question! Off hand I believe it had something to do with moving into different terrain. I may need to look into that though. Thanks for watching!
do you get a bonus from the stars andshield sfor dual wield?
I believe so! Not sure off hand though. Thanks for watching. 👍🏼
Such a pain to see all these unsleeved cards, any reason you're not doing that? :)
haha Glare my friend. It doesn’t play well with lighting and a camera. Cheers!
@@RollingSolo You have a "matte" variant of sleeves which helps greatly against glare, just a tip :)
Matte does help there for sure. I’ve got some but no sleeve has been the option for me during my tests :)
@@jashinoosterling3707 I never got how you could abuse your cards to such an extent that sleeving is even necessary really
More is better :-)
haha ;)
