I'm on a little roadtrip in Croatia with Eelco and visit abandoned military relics throughout the country.
We just arrived back on the mainland and it's time to rest, but an adventure is waiting! I meet up with Devin from the channel Tattooed Traveler and venture in a deep underground military command center which dates back from the cold war and got abandoned in the 90's.This bunker was one of the biggest in Croatia and the former Yugoslavia. In this place you can still find quite some artefacts.

Hey when will you come to Slovenia to explore the biggest underground secrets?
Was dope exploring with you bro, hope to do it again soon 💯🪖🤙
@@shubus thank you! I try to do my research, alot of it is not online when it comes to the Balkans. It's a complicated and vast history to say the least.
@@TattooedTraveler a gdje je ovo brate ? :)
just subbed to your channel, looking forward to binging on your vids.
Dope? Who talks like that
@@FixitFrank appreciate it frank!
It is amazing seeing things like this.
You do a lot more exploring of military sites than many other groups. It is helpful for me, as I do a lot of post apocalyptic writing and table top games, so seeing these places an HOW they have decayed, the causes of it, what got stripped out, etc. Is super helpful.
WH40k lol
excellent adventure Bob!!! was nice doing this with Devin - his insight was really valuable. you guys worked great together!!
Appreciate it Matt!
You guys do make a good team, this was quite the explore
Good to see Devin again, sharing what he's discovered in Croatia and other areas.
Damn pity about the copper thieves though finding the place.
Thanks Sam, and yeh I'm still searching for an intact place. There's gotta be one out there
Bob thanks for yet another great video. I sincerely appreciate you're time and effort in bringing us theses videos. David.
This episode was also very interesting.
I love abandoned bunkers.
Please keep up the good work❗️
I will support you from Japan❗️
😊👍🇯🇵
Awesome 🤙
Amazing video again Bob! Love this structures
Too much money expend in the crazy times!
The terror to prevent and keep peace show us how big this build was.
Something like 40bn estimate in Yugoslavia
Thanks Bob and Tattoo man, very interesting and informative.
Very nice film, excellent joint venture. Enjoyed watching this....suspense music not bad either!
Awesome Explore, thank you for sharing your adventures. 👍👌
Just subscribed to you channel Devin. Awesome job on this exploration. Looking forward to following your future adventures.
Thank you bro! Hopefully I'll have something cool this weekend
Excellent I have plenty to watch tonight on tattooed travellers channel. 👍👍
Appreciate it Roger!
Bob, that was a really great underground command center Discovery. when it comes to fort norad there is nothing on the face of the earth that compares to it.
4:10 This generator not soundproofed like the other two is a NO Break system, practically the electric motor drags the alternator with a kinetic mass, it feeds the privileged safety loads continuously without interruptions, in case of power failure from the external network the kinetic mass of the flywheel, about 5 tons keeps the alternator revolutions for a maximum of 16 seconds, in this short period of time the diesel engine must start and run at full speed and engage the transmission shaft with its clutch on the flywheel, before the voltage and the frequency dropped too much, this usually took place in 7 seconds, the engine and the oil remained preheated via electric resistances or external boiler to send them water at 70 °, ready to start quickly, this system is identical to the ACE HIGH troposcatter stations in Italy.
5:30 refrigerator piston compressor.
24:25 large analog telephone exchange, probably needed many external telephone lines as an exchange between the bases and the other bunkers, it is a pity you do not see the details, some components are rare and sought after by lovers of analogue telephone on twisted pair.
I'm sorry for the mess that happened in Italy, it probably ends up in a cloud of smoke, it's an abandoned and poorly guarded place with nothing relevant.
Thanks for the great and fascinating videos!
I definitely learned something about generators. Thanks man haha
@@TattooedTraveler It is still used in particular applications, but it is rare, now they use a lot of battery-operated UPSs, and standard generating sets such as in data centers, much more autonomy in black out, expandable at will both in power and autonomy for large UPSs, but a lot electronics, sudden tastes and high maintenance costs especially for the batteries to be replaced
@@winterburan thanks for taking the time to explain it
They have flywheel based UPS systems for some older places but I haven’t seen one in person. Sort of the same idea but they are break and make. This is super cool and I’m glad you took the time to describe it! It sure beats having a giant room of batteries underground. Man that would suck to replace.
Here we go
Really cool Exploration site. Looks like outside of some random Pillaging the place was left intact, not much Graffiti which was nice to see. Hopefully it will stay that way. Also noticed that it was very dry and there was basically no Moisture anywhere, which explains the overall good preservation of the place. Great Vid well done Guys.
Thank you Robert!
@@TattooedTraveler Send me a link to your Travel site, ok. Thanks, Robert
Anyone used to watch Cities of the Underworld on Nat Geo years ago?
These guys should have their own TV show tbh. The places they know is insane.
I know of the majority bunkers in my area and around the UK, this guy knows across the damn planet. Gives you perspective on it all.
Somebody write travel channel for us haha. But same, I thought I knew some stuff and then I met Bob lol
@@TattooedTraveler I'd watch, hands down. Who knows, maybe some tv exec comes across this soon :)
Some the locations you've been in is astounding. Everything we have here is either trashed, ruined beyond belief or active still, museum etc.
But many of the places bob visits are illegal, so it can't be funded by executives.
@@MrMadalien too many hands would want to be greased, especially in some of the countries they are in.
@@MrMadalien never know, may end up exclusive access or something. For example the London Underground official channel often lets their historians check out old abandoned lines which have been used for other means.
Amazing tour!
great commentary very enjoyable thanks
Great explore on its own! And I also appreciate that it leads me to another fine explorer to subscribe to! 👍
I'm curious if this bunker has a gravel/granulate pit to cool down external air before going through the filters - you know, when the bombs drop, the air gets hot. 🔥 Havent seen it in the video...
I appreciate it!, there is another ventilation shaft that you can walk up but it's at about a 45 degreee angle so it's not so fun. I don't think there is anything like you described.
Wow great exploration
Another gr8 video from the kings of Urbex 👑💪🇬🇧
You keep finding the best places! What’s next?
Very nice an atmospheric millitary bunker.
Wow, incredible explore (again!). Hope you and Devin can explore together again
We will somewhere in the future!
Look forward to it bro 💯🪖🤙
It always boggles my mind the amount of money spent on these secret projects only to abandoned and started once again somewhere else. The waste is incredible
Something like a 40bn estimate total
Nice work guys, subscribed to both of you're channels.
Thanks!
It's unbelievable that these places actually exist. I thought it was only in the movies. Considered that the place looks very elegant. It must have been very safe in that era, it's a mystery.
Great video!
Awesome video guys Bob and the tatood traveler
Thanks bro!
Object 182, near Split, village of Žrnovnica. I remember the time when there was electricity in the bunker 😁😁
How was it bro? I never talked to anyone that was there when it was working. Was looking for somebody haha
@@TattooedTraveler The military police was the only permanent unit in that facility. They secured the outer perimeter. In the bunker, operators who came from Split, base Visoka, took turns every 8 hours. Those beds were intended for high-ranking officers to enter the building in case of war, not for the soldiers who worked there. The entire facility was also intended as a base in case of war.
@@slobodantodorovic8484 I noticed the names seemed Serbian. That's really interesting. Hvala lipa za povijest
@@TattooedTraveler Da, 1983-84, JNA, Sinj pa onda Split, Visoka, 332. puk veze.

Hvala lipa, steta je grozno. Puno povijest

Awesome Sub-Exploring guys!
@5:53 These holes are used for squeezing cheese into the bunker, so that the occupants can have a good time with some cheese.
The cheese can be applied to the arms to prevent fatigue
Mystery solved
Cheesy gloryholes
Thanks Bob 👍
Very nice video! Love the location. Was planning to ask about Zeljeva Airbase until I saw the end of the video haha. Super hard to get in as they blowed it up partially and the place is full of abandoned landmines. Waiting for that next one! ;)
It's not hard to get in, you just walk in...I mean , it is if you only carry a mobile phone as a torch...and stay on the concrete, don't wander off into the bush to take a shit...also turn off data roaming because Bosnia is a few hundred meters away
This was interesting thanks for sharing
I couldn’t even look at the climb down 😅 My claustrophobia hit me hard! Imagine if the stair breaks !?!? How could you even breathe down there ?You’re a crazy one Bob, stay safe 😅
In a few years that ladder will probably start to break. It's super rusted as is. I had rust in my hair for hrs haha
GREAT STUFF... THANK YOU
Thank you 😊
Great video. Thank you Bob.
Such a pity it has been destroyed by thieves.
I would love to know more about the electronics in those rooms
It's a matter of safety to carry a portable oxygen meter when going in to confined spaces like this. With low oxygen levels being the biggest cause of death in confined spaces, accurate oxygen level measurements are essential.
60 m./180 ft of climbing in and out... that's already no joke; but to then enter a Halon-protected room with a system that is, what, 15, or 20 years old? You mad bro!!
Do you have any idea how it could be so hot, so deep in? Really an a amazing place, thanks a lot for the info-tainment! It reminds me a little bit of the NATO-Command Center that's near Maastricht (NL), near Kanne, in the limestone caves.
That ladder makes you climb weird too. I had never been here in the summer months and that was surprising to me as well. Passive ventilation in there I guess.
@@TattooedTraveler Can imagine, with a good 25 years of rust on that ladder ^^ Still interesting for the temp. Obviously it gets a lot warmer there during the summer then here in NL, but the old NATO-CP in the south of NL is maybe at 25% of the depth of this one, but always with a stable 12 Celsius; cool in summer and warm in winter :) -edit- thx for your service!
@@G4rr3tt thanks bro, and yeh it almost felt hotter in there than outside which was nuts
Cool thumbnail for this video Bob!
Thanks for checking out mate😇
Halon can create an oxygen-deficient environment, thus high concentrations of Halon can cause people to suffocate. For instance In 2021, on military exercise in Serbian army, Halon was activated in one of IFV's, reasons still not clear, investigation still in progress, but one officer in IFV, suffocated and died..
This looks like it’s going to be another epic video 👍
Sibenik sounds like Shibenik and Divulje was the barracks i was at in the 90's when i was IFOR out there . Divulje Barracks is opposite Kastela Airport not far from Trogir . My last tour and 6 months in Croatia and then a few months back in the UK then i was out the Air Force . Seems like a life time ago now .
Mustve been crazy back then
@@TattooedTraveler Not too much i didn't see the worst of it to be honest . I just remember how beautiful the place was and how sad that it got destroyed . I still find it mad that neighbours could turn on each other and kill . Mad world .

Yo welcome guys haha
if you had unrestricted sight on the first plexiglass map you encountered; I wonder how many other sites you'd be able to locate with the yellow markers
Would be so afraid of that latter failing and getting trapped! No signal or anything!,. I would have had a rope tied entrance coming down FOR SURE 😅

Very Cool !
Wat een enorme bunker weer! Die Amerikaan wist er veel over te vertellen zeg. Tot de volgende video :)

Have you explored all of the islands with the special symbols?
I'm gonna work on it, there's hundreds of islands. Some with tunnels that are uninhabited. I want to do one of those soon
Rotary ups! Old school
Didn't even know what they were called lol
Awesome!
12:35 That’s a MIG 21.
Thanks, I couldn't remember the nomenclature
There is no MIG AT 12:35
Try 16:24
Wooooow 🙀
Imagine coming across something like this but! mostly intact.
Such a shame that the war room is wrecked
Devin is really cool. Mellow and professional.
Thanks, Duke 💯
Just wish people wouldn't vandalize and instead preserve and not be so hard up for money and tear things apart. Yeah a lot it is old tech and not usable but really how much money do they really get from copper wire etc.. Maybe enough for a day supply of drugs or something idk.
Anyways, awesome stuff, thanks.
It sucks. Just keeping the AC running would ensure these places could be used to protect the citizens in the area. Even have local citizen groups stocking them.
If the kept it maintained it would never be for civilians.
If I knew how I can get it to your friend that's traveling with you on this explore I'd send him a mountain dew that's one my favorite pops too
Lol, thanks bro, I actually found them in the meantime
Lucky you!

@Exploring The Unbeathen Path can you go to IMT a abandoned Yugoslavian tractors factory located in new Belgrade block 64(44°48'29"N 20°23'31"E · 73,2 m), it is huge and has a underground systems. Also it is getting demolished soon so hurry up.
Looks amazing and very big indeed! Too bad they started to demolish it. I guess the most interesting stuff has been taken out already then :(
@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath
it won't be demolished for a long time, only in about a year. Also I know all the safe entrances because I was there many times and it is super interesting to explore and you have some clips of it on my YT channel
So what are the holes in the wall for? In the Croatian bunkers?
Hello Bob!

I'm still looking for something "completely" intact. There has to be one out there

The main old electronic room ( old computer room), novadays it's a ,, gold and silver mine ".
Why?!
Because the old military electronics are contain lot's of this materials, main the relays and old semiconductors.
I'am an urban recycling miner, but only the high value materials search and hold ( because they're not too much space need it 😃).
Thanks this video, if you/yours go one time of Budapest, you can found some very interesting place under the city...
Greetings from Hungary!

In the city of Ludbreg in Croatia, you have tunnels that have never been explored. According to legend, there are tons and tons of gold in those tunnels. I don't know how many years ago the dogs were released but they never came back. Of course, if you get permission from the city, you might get a chance... There are also bunkers from the former Yugoslavia in the vicinity of Ludbreg.. There is a secret hospital of Yugoslavia in Gabrinovac, as well as bunkers in the Kalnik mountains.
Are they an old mine or?
@@TattooedTraveler no... those tunnels were once used as secret escape tunnels from the castle..
