Thanks for watching my video on the Mexico City subway.
The effect of those long exposures in a busy place is so eerie and beautiful. I love it. Glad to see you posting again!
Thanks a lot!
So glad you're back with a video, made my day, love your storytelling!
Thank you Manuel!
7:29 What an incredible way to exhibit a photo, I think there're some possibility of expending this idea.
Nice to see you again man 🙏🏼
Sat here waiting for you to name check Alexey and happy when you did. Looking forward to that episode. Great work Frederik
You're alive!😀
Holaaaa :D
lol
@@FTrovatten Hola amigo, se te echó de menos. Donde estabas?
You need to be careful, Pantitlan is a tough neighborhood. There convey a lot of other tough neighborhoods haha. I love my city, and I love that someone from so far away appreciates its quirks, just always, always be careful around MXC.
You’re right. Was told exactly that when I step out of the Subway to get a taco. Thanks!
Not only are these images amazing now, but in years to come people will see them and say they are amazing images by an incredible photographer.
First, I was 100% convinced that must be film, shot with your Rolleiflex. So, I was super surprised when you said that you used the XT3 - the texture and grain looks so organic, really well done!
Nah for this it’s way to expensive to shoot film :D thank you!
So inspiring Frederik. The music you embed with your video was perfect. I love how I always learn from videos, I didn't know Alexey Titarenko's work before. I look forward to your next video breaking down his technique. Bravo!
That’s great to hear Shah!
Fantastic 👏. I've wanted to explore this technique for a while now, after one lucky mistake i made. I accidently used slow shutter in low light, capturing a very charismatic lady, smoking and looking a little worse for wear. The image looked so artistically mesmerising with motion blur creating an identical reflection of her mind, as I saw it. Its one of my favourite Street shots.
Looking forward to your next vid 😀 sounds exciting. 👊📷😎✌👋👋
Beautiful pictures and I loved the peaceful mood on this whole video!
Awesome video, Frederik. You definitely stirred my creative juices. Thank you!
Great to hear Cindra!
I tried to do this exact technique this summer and got a couple of decent shots but overall was dismayed by how hard it was to nail the right exposure time. I remember I took a photo of a fire truck going through an intersection and all that shows up is a red line. Thanks for the excellent video and I'm looking forward to the next one.
This is fantastic Frederik. Your images captured it perfectly. What a blast on the senses. Bravo
Thanks!
I’ve watched most all your videos. I like your approach to photography. I like the way you challenge yourself by studying other photographers and then shooting in their styles. You do an great job of it. You are an excellent photographer in your own right. Your videos are informative and always entertaining. I usually don’t make comments about most videos, but in your case I had to comment. I am an old timer who made his first photo at the age of 5. The first time I watched an image appear in the developer in the darkroom I was hooked and I still make photographs after 60 years. Thanks.
Love the pictures. I have been one of those people ,walking in the metro to arrive somewhere. The exposure captures the movement beautifully.
Just one thing. It is a felony to use cameras and video inside the subway in Mexico. That is why the police won't let you, they were polite with you. I've heard of some mexican photography students that were taken to prison for some days, trying to do this.
ysssss, stoked you're back!
That was amazing to watch! So different to the norm. Much appreciated.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing, it's like chasing ghosts...Frederik. Another quality video, thanks for sharing !
Only movement, could not be colors, as they would take away from the movement. You made the most busy metro station of Mexico City to shine like poetry, both in your images and video. Will tip AOWS about it. Did you follow his journey through Norway this fall?
Absolutly amazing pictures :) I love youre videos!!!
Thanks a lot!
Excelente video y que hermosas fotos! Muy inspiracional, ojalá que sigas subiendo contenido. 👍
Absolutly amazing! I just got back from the metro, but I (as a new citizen of Mexico City) was afraid of take out my camera and take a photo. This video is so inspiring. I really hope you can come back soon. :)
The same thing happens to me. Can't believe he's even carrying a tripod 🤯
@@camali_ch Why fear of taking out the camera in the subway?
@@alexro8916 I guess it's because I've been told 1000+ times that public transportation in the city can be dangerous when carrying expensive stuff. I do carry a GRIII with me but so far have avoided using bigger cameras.
Jeg får super meget ud af dine videoer og sådan har det været i et par år!!!!
Tak.
Tak for det Lars!
What a great technique! It looks like a heard of animals running through the savanna. Works best for my eye when you manage to freeze some people standing still together with the crowd. And I want that C1 feature in Photoshop! 😅
As a Mexico City born Mexican I can also tell you that you are brave for carrying your cameras there 😅 I would only take my cheapest oldest camera there tbh
What a great work👏🏻📸🍀 and did you use a Filter, that the Photos have a look like analog photos with grain?
I used Capture One grain and it’s all digital :)
@@FTrovatten I work with Capture One too, great tool👏🏻👏🏻 nice work Frderik, really👏🏻📸🍀
Cool. Det kunne være, at jeg skulle prøve på hovedbanegården eller Nørreport. Bruger du Fujifilm remote app på mobilen til at udløse eller bare self timer?
Ja prøv det. Men der skal være packed! Jeg brugt bare interval-shooting.
Very inspiring - Thanks a lot ! I'm gonna try it in Vienna this weekend :-))
100% go for it!
I've done loads of these. But my versions are just individuals, never crowds. But these are amazing. They look like "the 1926 movie Metropolis" i got to give this a try...
Beautiful. Thank you.
Great video and stunning photographs 🖤🤍
Amazing work frederik!!
Thank you Diego!
That video was perfect. Congrats!
Thanks a lot Antonio!
I guess I got lucky...just finished watching your Burger King behind the scenes video...and as soon as I was done, it disappeared... Thoroughly enjoyed it for whatever that's worth!
Awesome photos! As a Mexican, I'm always glad when people see the beauty within the chaos of our surreal country 😊
is this an old video re-uploaded or are you back in Mexico again?!
It was filmed 3 months ago when I was doing a shoot in Mexico. I live in London now :)
I have been trying to go through metros and capture the day to day. Its fascinating but doing mostly via phone or a point and shoot, wish to do using camera not sure how to do it.
That was truly inspiring.... Great shots.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great footage. Vámonos pa’ Cuba Federico!
Muchas gracias amigo!
For unsecure locations, and/or even bad weather, if it's being 35mm Film, i go with my F50 nowadays. Could take a beating, costs almost nothing, works with AF-D lenses. For serious work, i use better gear.
Do use use an ND filter for this? Looks super cool by the way.
Not for this one. But next video Ill do a big breakdown of this effect using ND filters Phil :)
Great video Fred
Thanks man
Very enjoyable video. Waiting for your zine of Mexico. I lived in Uruguay for a while but I wish I had gone to Mexico instead. The people were nice but I don't feel the country has the soul of Mexico. I'm an American with many ethnicity one of which is mestizo. My dream is to visit Mexico City. I have been to Mexico for short stays but I want to experience the museums & culture of Mexico City.
Quite an interesting exercise with the good outcomes that you so often display. Have you returned to work in Mexico?
Thanks! Nope in London now :)
@@FTrovatten Thanks. You bring insight into any location where you are.
Frederik, what was the name of the Russian photographer you mention in this video?
Alexey Titarenko.
Muy buenos tus videos saludos desde la Ciudad de México
Gracias Isaac! 👊🏼
Did you use any ND filter ?
Gran video. Gracias
Which it is station ?
Tokyo is great for chasing ghosts on the busy streets.
Great stuff
Will you come to Colombia?
I just been! See past 3 videos :)
You know is forbidden to take any photography or video inside a Metro station in Mexico City? You are lucky!😁
Love long exposure.
Me too :)
hmmm ... X-T4 I swear I saw a glip of a X-T5 🤔
