About PSU and powering cables, this OCTO has 12 x 6pin slots.. which one 6pin can deliver 75W max, plus the PCIE slot 75W,. so how to plug the bigger GPUs here which 1 demand way more than 200W ?
Wondering if you ever tired to run with the rx470? I got one of these so I could try HiveOS and learn how to use it since I was coming over from nicehash...and using regular computer cases with 2 cards each. I have not gotten it to successfully mine and was wondering if you have any pointers.
@@kr00tmanmining That's ok, if i could see the motherboard model or bios, probably could figure it out. Sometimes it's called resizable bar. I believe Asrock calls it clever access memory (cam). I know you are hella busy, but if you get a chance if you could, message me the model number and name of the mainboard, or take a look in the bios it would be great. I got a temperamental Asrock h510 pro btc+ that doesn't like to live in a case but supports the feature. I just would like to find something more turnkey. I figured if this one supports the feature, I would order it instead. since its got case, ps, board.
I wouldnt run them in a room you are in....and the 5 fan model is better in every way shape and form, but these are still very solid buys for their price
I got one from this supplier some time ago, one fan was dead and it's impossible to find a replacement. On top of this the octometer randomly reboots, sometimes every hour sometimes every few. I tried replacing the ram, CPU, hard drive and both power supplies but it still reboots.
Would you recommend the octominer or the ASRock mining rig from PCSP with the PS5 APUs? It's 400 compared to 330 but 610/Mh/s compared to 360Mh/s. Power consumption isn't a big deal for me because electric is included with my rent.
Great video and walk through Krootman! I am buying a few... Seems cheap to me to have some cases around ready for some 5070s lol. Plus I would look at it like a 7 GPU case.... One thing, the overall size of the case is close to x8 ultras so it will stack nicely beside them.
yea I thought it would fit but its just too big, you would have to take the fan shroud and the fans off the heat sink and bend the screw holders on the heat sink for them to fit
Thanks, boss. Please look into upgradeability of psus and ram. I think it can benefit from 8gb. I can confirm it works pretty well with nvme drive vs ssd. Also, i couldnt replace hive image via shell, had to pull the drive and flash directly.
You can add more ram if you chose too, going to see if my buddy has spare sticks of 4 gb ddr3 ram, I spoke about upgrading psus in the video can put 1200 hps in it.
@@kr00tmanmining there doesn't seem to be much of a gap between the cards for air to flow through if trying to use it like a 12 card system. For a 6-7 card system at $300 that does seem like a really good deal.
3070FE side by side will not work, gap is too narrow, I tried. You need 1.5 slot or less, or fanless setup. CMP 100-210 (6 of them works nicely), but there is only enough power cables for 6, which is fine. This may be perfect for 12 A4000 if someone can find them cheap.
@@kr00tmanmining Yep, thats why I tried :-) I tried 3 next to each other, they fit, but there was barely any space between them. If you do decide to run them that way, you are braver than I am ;-)

do you know if the motherboard inside the octominer supports resizeable bar? I would love to load one up with intel arc cards.
@@davidb1412 honestly no idea

How loud are the fans....? Does this 4 fan model cool well enough vs. the 5 fan model?

did you reach out to them?
Would you recommend this for 2x2070s, 1x3080 and a 1x4060? Looking to separate my gpus from my cpu rigs. Cheers from UK!
Hi! I got one of these and have been pondering which cards to fill it with. What do you think of the CMP 100-210 12gb card for Xelis?
Did the CMP 100-210 work in the case?

most likely the octominer, you would need to do some work to make the bc250s suitable for home mining.

yup!!!! I am going to get a few more I think
Have you found what ram is needed to upgrade it? Running into limits with the 4gb dimm
@@dividendinvesting2419 I have never upgraded these, never had the need.
Great for A2000 and deshrouded 6600XTs. Maybe deshrouded 1660S would work too.
I think alot of the smaller 1660 supers should fit, like the pny single fan models
@@kr00tmanmining Yeah, but feels like a waste on 1660S ;-)
@@mancavetech exactly why I'm not doing it hahah
I looked online and it says it can fit any gpu that is 61mm thick I am pretty sure the 3070 xc3 is not 61mm thick but it was indeed a very close fit

These look like they were in a data center, not a miners shed. I will try my luck with one...hope it works out 😎
so fat so good with mine

If it is the one I looked at the spacing is 43mm and not there standard 61 mm so I worked be concerned about cooling and fit.
what aspect of the cooling concerns you?

I have evga 2 fan 3060tis that would fit
Can confirm they will fit
HAve to take the fan shoud OFF in order to fit!
?
Great review but you need more and better lighting, it was too dark.
Also, you have a typo in the title, the TO should be TOO. :)
Yea I am upgrading the lighting soon!
link is nno longer valid ..i was too late smh
It should still work go to crypto mining gear and it should be there
Water-cooling, as I always say x) Even 4090 founder fit with water blocks, but power wise, IDK x)
maybe a deshrouded one?
2 fan gpus should fit
No the 2 fan models should fit just fine
yeah these are dope. I think 12 6600s will fit
