@@markhodar8888 I discovered the Judy fans are a special bunch. You're welcome. A highlight of making the film was interviewing Hugh Martin at his piano as he talked about writing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and he suggested, when she performed on stage live, to sit on the lip of the stage and sing Rainbow acappella.

@@KevRipz Thank you for posting. At the premiere of this film at The Paley Center in Beverly Hills, these people were in attendance: Mickey Rooney, Munchkins Jerry Maren/Margaret Pelligrini, Michael Feinstein, Ann Miller, June Allyson and on and on and on. After a performance, the audience stood up as if they were watching her performing live on stage. Remarkable.

Im cracking up right now😂 the commercials from this era was non stop and long... I remember a one hour program would last an hour and 30 minutes because of all the commercials they show. 😩 I still love & miss this era ❤

Yes, I'm so glad you mentioned that... Wonderful ✨️ documentary of all the ones I've seen .These silly Comercial remind me of all jingles I reame.ber. The honist if all the actors and friends . The voice of the narrative covering up the inner hardship Jusy endured with a kindness of understanding .. I'll share this with friends and family ❤... 🎉 Judy, we will all look back with honor for a dear friend and the inspiration you gave us kids way back when

It's so sad that people who are loved and admired in this world, can still end up so sad and lonely.

It's like that old saying "the people see the clown dance and sing but when the lights go down that clown is crying his eyes out and nobody takes him serious."

She looks so much older than 47 in some of those last videos of her. She was so talented that the industry squeezed every drop of talent out of her. And she was used used to being exploited and used for her talent it felt like she didn’t know how to live without it. It’s very tragic but her memory will always live on

no matter how much shit ppl have talked about her, all the lies and the abuse from the industry, it makes me so happy for her sake that she was able to be the mother she didn’t have herself. the love she had for the kids and they had for her is beautiful ❤
also, she was SO YOUNG!!!! i feel like she’s one of the “sacrificial lambs” world society has had to have in order to understand a lot of the issues created by this fame culture. rip legend

The Great Star of Entertainment Judy Garland. She's had so many versions of her life put into film. This documentary is the best I've seen and if there is ever another film these facts, the beautiful stories and memories, plus the accounts of her downfall should be the standard they use. A true comeback legend that did the best she could with what she had. We watched her for years in awe not really knowing all that she went through to be her. Rip Judy Garland 🌹🌄

    Good program.
Although it's impossible not to mention them, thanks for not focussing only on the bad issues, but, highlighting Judy's humongous talent, sense of humor and great love for her family and audience instead.
    Marvelous Judy Garland 💞.. 🪻🌿

Oh Marcella Rabwin - you said so much in so little. "They weren't trying to addict her - they were trying to get a picture finished". That's dark. The economic enterprise when so much money is at stake breeds or requires brutality.

I was thinking the same thing, the word exploitation keeps ringing in my mind. Such a monumental talent, many contributed to her loss of vitality and finally, her life. She's sorely missed by this fan.

So what i'm getting out of all this is that hollywood is weird and was weird and people live weird lives because they foresee themselves as something they were never intended to be. To have talent is great. To live and act as if you're different then the person who picks up your garbage is not!

    • @KevRipz

Sorry a big part of my channel is the nostalgia provided by the original commercials from these broadcasts but I understand not everyone care about that. You can skip them yourself as they come up by just scrolling past them, they aren't forced or timed ads. I hope you were still able to enjoy the program :)

I wonder if Judy would be as devoted to her dad if she ever learned that not only had he wanted to abort her but that he was gay my guess is she likely died much sooner. Her friends didn't do right by her by keeping the truth about her dad's sexuality a secret from her when she asked about him years later.
