Hi blue gabe that contraption you seen in the woods is called a bird birthing and hatching 🐣 center. They put the eggs in there of rare birds to keep them from getting eaten by snakes and other animals. After the birds hatch and able to fly they are let go into the wild. The top opens to feed and place the nest 🪺 inside the front opens so they can walk to the edge and fly away with less human contact as possible

That setup (woodstructure) is similar to our holding pen, cage we used to use to store our pigeons, what you call quail, doves and galars when we were camping as children. Fresh meat away from predators, and available when you wanted them. But our roof was permanent so this structure had some other function as well.

Another great video. To guess what the thing in the woods is. It’s possible it’s a turkey or game bird roost made for young birds hatched in an incubator. It’s a safe roost with food n water. Until the birds get big enough to fend for themselves before they fly the roost and live as wild game in a hunting area.

Gabe, Philips makes house LED bulbs that don't flicker when you're recording with cameras. They're a much brighter light plus they use a lot less power. Like regular 75-watt bulbs draw 75-watts, but a Philips LED that puts out 75 watts of bright white light only draws 11 watts of power. If you use lights all the time and change out all of your regular bulbs to those LEDs, you will see a drop in your power bill. It might only be $20-$25 per month, but it will drop. Plus where a regular 75-watt bulb lasts for around 1000 hours, these LEDs last between 10,000 and 25,000 hours. It's well worth changing all old regular-style bulbs out for these new LEDs. I did a couple of years ago and just the major difference in light was worth it, and the savings was just a bonus.

Bluegabe, I don't comment much but I just wanted to put my two cents in on the cage. When I was done I saw someone who actually knew what they were for had already nailed it. I was close. But since I've broken the ice, I wanted to say I stumbled on you about 2 years ago. You had that little vegetarian type girl running with you. I enjoyed watching theb, but I must say you have traded up my friend. That Kristal is my kinda gal. Ain't scared of getting down and dirty in the mud or swimming in a swamp game for anything you want to throw her way. And I can tell those boys are just as comfortable around her as with you. She's made a nice addition to the team. I wish I had had a dad like you coming up. I don't think much would have been different except we'd have had nice toys. I had no dad at home and ran wild in the woods and swamps and creeks around our place in Dallas Co Alabama. Grew up swimming in oakmulgee creek and fishing the Cahawba River. We would see who could catch the most snakes on our way through the swamp to the creek every single day of the summer break. Your boys remind me of that and there's ol dad right there with them. Now how cool is that? I think it's awesome. I can't get out there anymore, kinda trapped at the moment, but I am so grateful my mind doesn't have to be trapped thanks to you guys.

Bluegabe. It's Canman in North Florida again and that strange looking pen is a staging pen for turkeys, pheasant and quail. My Dad worked for Gilman at White Oak Plantation sometimes. Back in the 1970s wildlife was not as abundant as today. They incubated eggs and slowly increased the size of the pens. The last stage in captivity was flight pens. Then the birds went to those staging pens in the wild. It gave the birds time to adjust slowly to a new environment. The tall posts helped to keep predators from having a easy lunch and encouraged birds to roost. The birds would never make it in the wild otherwise.

I've been cooking skin-on boneless chicken thighs like that for a few years now. It's probably the most flavorable cut of chicken to cook but there's not much meat left on the bone after I'm done de-boning. Load 'em up with the Lowery's Garlic Salt (and pepper cooked in olive oil and butter) which I loved as a kid but forgot all about as an adult, until a couple years ago when you couldn't find a Blue Gabe Cooking Video without him using it and singing it's praises. Good Stuff! Epic video's Gabe. BTW: My girlfriend and I stayed at the Oak Hill Trout Cabin near Minns a few years back after seeing you and Kelly's video shrimping under the lights. Love this channel!

Your getting really good at the videos. Killer content, jumping back and forth between everyone. Huge 👍on the patience with you yourself not in the action and showing Luke a good time doing what he wants to do most. Love the editing, a true stud muffin in his element. 👏bravo, you definitely have it figured

I think you and your brother should have a interactive map on a website that show the location you go on adventure and the shop you guys promote, you can have like info on what you hunt and fish of each location.

I’m pretty sure that structure is a quail or maybe a turkey pen. In Texas those are used often for quail to keep them safe off the ground and able to be released for training. They return home after you set the dog out. That’s just my guess. Great video as always! You got a ton of turkeys out there I’m jealous

I'll tell you what the REAL Florida is so daggum beautiful!!! People think Florida is all sand and beaches and tiki huts, no sir THIS is the REAL FLORIDA. And it's waaaaay better then umbrellas in your drink!!! Man I love south Florida!! It's just special, those massive grass flats with just a few trees at sunset, not many more purtier things

I'm an electrician that specializes in lighting, LED is where it's at! Been watching you for a while, I am a fan! However, I'm from Indiana and studied biology at FSU, got envenomated by a cottonmouth on the job (contract wildlife rescue), no regrets. Separately , we had 4 venomous species on-campus at the BRF in Tally, would love to teach you about efficient lighting and venomous snake etiquette. They're not that scary, ask Bruce Means 😊

I love watching Fl videos. I love the abundance of wild life. I love the fishing. I love the "whatever today brings" adventure. I will NOT move there, only visit. DEAR GOD THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY. BG, thank you for enduring that for us. I will continue to fish up here for now.

Looks like a turkey feeder. The holes in the wire are large enough for the turkey to get its head through. Off the ground to keep the cows, hogs, and deer out. The answer to your LED problem is: Philips LED Flicker-Free.
