This term, Christian was used to mock the disciples and apostles of Jesus the Christ PBUH. The amazing thing is they never worship Jesus as a god rather they followed him and learned from him so they may go to their people (lost sheep of israel) whom Jesus PBUH to spread the gospel he was gaven by "God the father" which is/was a term the Jews used to identify God almighty. Jesus PBUH was never worshipped by anyone as a god until the council of Nesia which was centuries later. Until the council of Constantinople they worshipped "God the father and god the son" due tonthe council of Nesia however after the council of Constantinople the Holy Ghost (spirit) was also made a god which was the birth of the trinity a man made concept that's not found in the bible. Alhamdulillah for Islam which Allah SWT made perfect. May Allah SWT guide us all to the truth and worship the only one worthy of worship which of course is Allah SWT Ameen.
