I'm a foreigner who love Rwanda more than I like my own country. However, what the Hell are you people doing to your country? Not only are houses and apartments being rented in dollars, they're being rented at the same prices that they're rented in the Western World where the majority of people actually earn in dollars, Euro, Pounds, etc. What the Hell are you people doing dollarizing your economy in the best interests of the United States, instead of doing what's best for Rwandese? Now the big question is how could the average educated Rwandese who works a 9-5 job and earns in Rwandan Franc be able to afford these Western priced apartments, how much more the unskilled Rwandese?

@@houseinkigali I know it's not the fault of the agents. I think it's time for the government to implement some price control measures in the housing sector. Otherwise, the average Rwandese are not going to be able live in their own country, except the rich Rwandese and foreigners.
Exactly my friend. And, even a foreigner/westerner who has any sense would not pay this kind of money for a house in this market. Especially withe the living income of RFW 187,633 or $204 USD as of 2020...According to some studies, Rw3anda is one of the 20 poorest countries in the world...These prices makes no sense at all.

I mean, we are talking Rwanda. These tactics are backfiring as many from the Diaspora are turning away and going elsewhere.
2000$ is what owner told me but me as an agent I negotiate for my clients . When you negotiate before they ask us to bring clients first and we negotiate later
@@MMBeing Don't blame the agent. They're just a representative working for their own income. $1445 in local currency is my rent for the whole year, and it's a Brand New 2 Bedroom apartment in the 5th desired neighborhood in a major city. Same African country with a much larger economy.
@@MMBeing Kenya is also an amazing country but real estate is cheaper in Kenya. $1500 local currency equivalent will get you a nice Brand New 2 Bedroom Apartment in a nice neighborhood for the entire year in Lagos, Nigeria. Then $4k local currency equivalent will get you a 2 bedroom apartment in the second exclusive neighborhood for the entire year in Lagos, Nigeria.
