Here’s an interesting fact about the H3 Freeway. The freeways purpose was to connect Marine Corps base, Kaneohe bay to Pearl Harbor. It started in 1960 but the construction has had its major obstacles from years of legal battles to losing the first route and had to go on the second route it wasn’t until 1986 that the state of Hawaii said enough is enough. They got a bill to Congress exemplifying the H3 Freeway from all laws on the books and construction went full steam in 1987 and the construction will go on for about 10 years it was finally open in December 1997

I plan on doing this drive when I am visiting at the end of August. It will be the first time I've done it.
