  • Review and test of a vintage Edwards Durabel bell from up north.
    This bell was made by the Edwards Signaling Company of Canada Ltd in 1977. The Durabel was a short-lived series of bells Edwards produced in the 60's-70's alongside the Adaptabel. This is a vibrating bell, model 6000 and runs off 24 volts AC. This particular bell is a red fire alarm bell, but they also came in grey as general purpose bells. Evidently this one is a Canadian model, being that most of the Canadian Durabels are red and most of the American ones are grey. These are also somewhat sentimental to me as one of my old doctors' office buildings had the grey general purpose models. Very neat bell, happy to finally have one of these

      I have one of the first ever made, the Pyrotector Smoke Sentinel 255S
