- Arizona is one of the best big bull states in the west. With limited tags, good genetics, and seasons during the rut it is known to produce some real giants. I am going to walk you through the Arizona draw process, some things to look for, and how tags are allocated. I also cover some ideas for trying to get into an Arizona tag sooner rather than later.

I don’t know if I liked this breakdown more because I know how AZ works, but Remi nailed here. Perfectly explained.
Nice quick overview on AZ elk and the application process. I have watched or listened to many of these state app videos or podcasts over the years.
Now that I’m married I had to cut out AZ since the non resident non refundable license 🪪 to buy points or possibly even apply is too high at $160. The $15 app fee is inexpensive thankfully. I have 2 points for most species in AZ.
Another good thing about buying your 365 day license is you can use that to potentially buy those January OTC deer 🦌 tags 🏷️ on Dec 1.
Awesome video!! Thanks for helping us understand the confusing process
Good news! G and F extended the draw deadline so we have an extra week to put in now so no rush on getting the apps in now!
If the rest of the state got the same amount of moisture as the Navajo Nation, it should be a good year for AZ for elk... I currently have a cow elk tag, and the AZ/NM Mountains are packed with snow!
Sweet home Arizona
Being a Washington resident it would be interesting to see ya do a similar video for WA to try and make sense of the regs here. Thanks Remi!
What are you wanting to do?
I'm a wa. Res also.
Compared to other western states wa. Is actually pretty straight forward.
@@qwertyuio905 the points system, special hunt, multi-season, which type of weapon to use and which side of the state….
Could you do a video about Colorado, Arkansas, and Oklahoma elk application too please? 🙏
Show us all how to apply for Nevada days before the deadline
Thanks Remi! I’m a non resident this year so I Shot for the stars on the first choice, and got aiming for a late archery as my second choice, killed a bull with my wife in the Kachina Peaks wilderness last year, but we were residents then.
Remi, applicants need to be careful because if you draw your 3rd, 4th or 5th choice, in that 3rd draw cycle, you lose your points too.
Don’t they have a January otc archery mule hunts. ( I know, we were discussing elk here)
Yes starts mid December and all of January. However, G and F just implemented a harvest limit per unit. Once the harvest limit is reached that particular unit is closed.
Don't come to Arizona..please
10% of tags to nonresidents no matter how many people apply for tags so it’s not like more out of staters applying is going to hurt your chances of drawing a tag as a resident. You’re in different pools. More tag applications means more revenue for the game and fish commission
Sorry remi but we don't need anymore hunters please🤣
I would be interested, but for 95% of us are being affected by the recession and looming depression to come.... I can get meat in my back yard no need to waste $$$$$$$ on an unnecessary expense at this time.
