the stigma of weed smoking for famous people has weakened a lot over the years. Nowadays it's not just hip hop artists who can admit to weed smoking without it affecting their livelihoods, musicians in other genres, actors, artists of many kinds.
What Lazybone said makes sense get famous people to contribute to sustained campaigns, get their fans to sign petitions. And NORML don't have to wait till a republican gets into the whitehouse. Hit Obama hard if he wins the midterms because he doesn't have to worry about getting re-elected, get his administration to give in on some reforms preferably ones that the next administration can't repeal easily.
