how did the algorithm know i always fall asleep to these fallout fact videos Edit: youtube is so weird i just left some dumb comment and now its the most liked in the comments 💀
18 months for New Vegas?! That's insane considering how amazing it is. I get that the engine, world building, and some pre-production were already done. But holy hell, damn impressive.
Fun fact: Josh sawyer said that the fallout community needs to give the gamebryo engine some slack because if it wasnt for that engines pipeline, the 18 month development for fallout new vegas would have been impossible
Fallout 4's attention to detail on the Boston region was crazy impressive. I grew up in Quincy MA and the Factory at the end of the map where you can make a settlement is a Water Filtration plant that actually exists in my neighborhood. It's wild what they managed to get into the game, so much fun to play
It is insane watching a lot of these old VGfacts videos, especially the Easter Egg Hunting series. This channel started my love for this side of gaming, its history, betas, unused content, development history, scrapped games, etc. and it all really started all those years ago with those series. Thank you again for exposing me to what ultimately became one of my biggest passions
Holy cow that was a blast from the past! I remember watching the fallout VGfacts video back when I was a kid, it was so weird and fun to hear it again!
@@jocelyndaoust3700 I can't fall asleep to his video if he speaks like this. If he talks slower then I play this in BG , I fall asleep, he gets his watch time. Win win situation
9:09 This bit is actually a monumental fact, by honoring this request to trade bottle caps for a copy of the game, and then more importantly no others thereafter, they inadvertently set a value to bottle caps in the fallout universe. I’m sorry but that’s the gold standard
Funnily enough, plenty of people disagree, which is why this UA-camr actually has their own series of videos made together with DYKG and another editor, which are 1 hour cuts of less hectic scenes from their own videos.
I'm pretty sure it isn't written in blood that you HAVE to fall asleep to this. Enjoy it regardless. If I had to guess this is a harmless attempt to trick the algorithm
15:30/15:33 in - it is far more likely given the repetition of Ed and Ed is Dead and that Fallout4 takes place in Boston that this is a reference to Western MA/Boston based band Pixies' song from their Illuminated first EP released in 1987 - Come On Pilgrim - also the PF character is Zed, not Ed.
So a suburb of Boston speaking of Boston rock musicians is Norwood. There's a venue in Norwood, MA, The Fallout Shelter. Norwood is home of Harry And The Potters, the first 'Wizard Rock' band - anyways, this Ed Is Dead is likely a reference to Pixies. I hope this helps. Credit me if you choose to edit this! Occult Fan (OF, FO)... I just played 'Where Is My Mind' at The Fallout Shelter 7 days ago. Cheers!
There's actually a lot more here that would nuke yr mind but I will leave it there. If you look up occultfan's wordpress, you'll find the recent article on where Mario and Luigi got their names from - "It's A Me" - look for that one - and a lot more of relevant interest. I think that's all for now. Hey, it's 4:20.
The fact new vegas was made in 18 months is still insane to me. Sure I need a mod to stop it crashing when I fast travel too much, my frames die if there are too many enemies and I sometimes get stuck on random terrain but I have like 50 hours in it and I’ve only just now talked to mr house and have been doing quests non stop
I understand that eventually there is going to be certain things that are cut but it's got to be heartbreaking from a programmers perspective when you spend so much time and effort building characters like the raccoons only to have them cut because they were just not enough time to put everything in
Fallout is one of those series that I have always intended to check out, but never got round to. But that wont stop me from listenjng to this whilst i go to sleep 😂
Same! I got into Fallout due to the interesting alternative history ideas in it, but I’ve never fully completed any of the games. I’ve thought about playing New Vegas and Fallout 3.
Don't bother with Fallout 4 and 76 they're not rpgs just mid tier shooter-looters. Fallout 3 is ok, New Vegas is the best 3D game and Fallout 2 is the best 2D game, Fallout is also good although short.
Is it worth playing these days, always found the graphics and controls a little janky so never got too far into it, loved 4 tho so was tossing up whether to get it or not!
I just wanna say fallout 3 was technically the very 1st fallout I ever played, but my very 1st playthrough fallout was new vegas. One of the best games of all time.
16:28 this isn't a reference to South Park. South Part debuted in 1997-8, which is after the release of Fallout 1. The reference is from the The Spirit of Christmas student short film and the short film commissioned by one of the executive of Fox by Matt Stone and Trey Parker from 1992 and 1995. It was only after they gained popularity thanks to the bootlegging of the second short film they pitched the idea of reworking it in to what we know as South Park.

It was a buggy mess on release when I played it on my 360
