There's a good chance I misunderstand the interaction, but buffing the minion on your board and then HPing it would make the spell stats stick when HPstats disappear next turn and the shop minion would have the same stats when it got eaten regardless.
Not that 5/5 in stats matters much when you're already making a 600 health minion that same turn.
Do they? I'm pretty sure all spellcraft stats dissappear from your board after the next turn.
@@DanteKrystal Wasn't it a tavern spell? But you're right, if it was a spellcraft then it doesn't matter which way you do it.
It's better to buff the board. Sure, it might get brambled, but it's still better long term, as the board stats are kept for each consecutive turn. By the end,the whole board would have ~200 extra stats total, which isn't crazy, but still better

Vol'jin + Demons is almost always instant win. Does not even take any special skills. Victory is given.

I had a game exactly like this but I kept the Zesty in the shop the entire game and just kept buying the surrounding cards and freezing. Is that not better as you can keep doubling stats?

I mean, the advice at 8:50 kinda falls flat when "play normal" means "Immediately roll one of the best minions to enable this comp".
Don't get me wrong, the advice not to donkey roll is still good. Just like... this was a high roll if I've ever seen one, it's not just "played normal", is it?
Damn Buddy meta is old fast. Turns out giving every hero a commander leads to inevitable "solving" of the meta with the 4-5 commanders that instantly win if you hit their comp.

Shellemental probably needs to move to 6 stars tbh
Feels a bit like the removed 5 star dragon that could trigger battlecries. It's decent on it's own but some combos are broken to hell. It got removed, and I expect shellemental gets the same treatment if they can't nerf it in isolation.
I know you're a far better player than me, shady, but you're incorrect about the spell on the shop Vs on your minion.
You see, you want the shop to be the biggest possible. The only way you can do that is by using the spell outside the shop. The reason being you are going to swap the stats anyway, but due the golden buddy, the swapped gains double the health. So by buffing your minion before the swap and then swapping, the shop ends up with +5/+10, instead of just +5/+5 from directly casting the spell.
Not that it would matter anyway. But it's funny to think that with golden voljin buddy, you actually rather buff your board, because you pass the stats doubled.
Also I think a caveat worth noting is that the play of leveling for shelly is outstandingly good because it's not just shelly. You have felboar and the demon that eats when you play another demon as well. Felboar can easily be enabled with Nagas, and the other demon is just a bit worse implicator. Having 3 hits gives you huge odds though
