I'm from Brasil, it has none of these issues here, nor in Australia or the UK... Weird, just weird. It's one of the best selling EVs in south america this year for its price range.
I noticed on a number of low priced, eco EV Chinese cars that they use a wheel tire setup that I believe is less than what should be used for that vehicle. I agree that for better economy and range ECO tires are good however, they take a toll on handling. Back in 2012 when I bought my first KIA Optima Hybrid, the handling was sloppy, the Traction Control and ESC would activate a lot. Driving in rain or snowy conditions and it took the car a long distance to stop. I changed the tires from the Kumho ECO tires to Pirelli Touring tires and the car drove, handled and felt like a BMW (without sport suspension). The next 2 Optima Hybrid I got, I changed the tires within a month after getting it. Yes, I lost some range however, the handling, control, ride quality (personal preference for a firmer ride) and stopping power was significantly improved. Matter of fact, I went with Ultra High Performance All Season (US car) tires on the last one, with a +1 upgrade (from 215/50 R17 to 225/45 R 17) that made it more like a Sport Hybrid. I think changing the tires will improve the handling on this vehicle.
I bought the 2023 Model last year! After shopping around for other EV vehicles, for the price it has a lot more features and "luxury" aspects than the others.
Opinion: To justify 150K plus, GWM have given us a poor ev product with 2 strikes against it, ie :suspension/body roll :poor software They shouldn’t have that ‘cincai’ attitude..what a pity, wasted opportunity Daniel (Johor Bahru)
Thanks for the fun review of the funky cat! Yes, would love to see more car reviews in this channel. Especially EVs!
