    I want to see that turn go black in super slowmotion with a high speed camera :D

    yes, all the measurements and instructions comes with the kit.

    this is a cool experiment! how many times it can be done when using this kit? I guess it depends on quantity of ingredients included in the kit. thanks!

    look up Iodine clock reaction and you'll get the full explanation, but basically after you mix the chemicals...make sure to give it a good quick stir with a popsicle stick or anything to mix it up well....that's how you get the really fast change...

  • @Microtardz
    @Microtardz 12 років тому +12

    "It never happened that fast"
    You haven't seen the alkali metals reactions then, have you???
    Some of them can't even be in the air for a few seconds because they'll go pooof.

    if you use it in lesser amounts, such as by doing it in shotglasses or small cups, there are enough materials in the kit to do it approximately 25 times

    i now know where my chemistry teacher shops.
    I CAN FOIL HIM IN THE MIDDLE OF CLASS.
    "you see class, i can do magic..."
    "NO, NO HE CAN'T."

    prof did this in our first chemical lecture
    the fun fact is, that the reaction ist oszillating so it switches between dark and bright after a short period of time AND the instant colourchange is very rare in chemistry

    As a kid I would've just LOVED to have play kits like these, I would be a different person now if I had access to these learning tools as a kid, buuut instead I grew up in a poor ghetto apartment. Oh how I think of these things!

    This kit comes with all the chemicals and instructions needed to easily do this many times...and you can find more info by just googling "iodine Clock Reaction"...you'll see it's not a camera trick...thx

    i just did this lab in my chem class today and i have to say that it looked so fake, even for real life. watching it happen looks like a really bad editing trick but it was fun regardless and funny to watch

    >.< people are really stupid... This is completely real, the iodine clock has been around for quite a while... It is a very simple reaction (however it is very complex in the actual science of it... Reaction to reaction to reaction) the change IS instantaneous (the slower speeds you may witness in other versions are caused by inaccurate measurements or poor choice of volumes and concentrations)
