I thought America is all about freedom of speech and democracy? Guess kyles mom don’t care for any of that. All she did was try to put V chips in kids heads so kids cannot have freedom of speech and told the soldiers “horrific deplorable violence is okay but as long as nobody say any naughty worlds! That’s what this wars is all about!”
Believe me when I say that this has to be the most powerful song in the South Park movie, if not the franchise. I know everyone likes hearing Cartman sing about how Kyle's mom is a bitch, but really this one's message is better. It's so damn idealistic, driving people to rise up against oppression and injustice.
This movie's mad underrated honestly. It's crazy that South Park managed to do a musical that is legitimately on level with some of Disney's best stuff. Like more songs from Bigger Longer and Uncut have stuck with me than songs from Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan etc. it's crazy how well made the songs are considering what South Park is
I Watched The South Park Movie A Few Months Ago Since That's When I Got Into South Park and The Part Where The Soldiers Sing About The Execution is So Godly :D 0:53

Exactly!! South Park speaks the truth everyone thinks but none dare to say. This is the reason why i have a deep respect for the show. They touched every sensitive topic in society with humor, but making more sense then any crap going on in any media (especially on tv).
It's brilliant how they took Bernstein's famous 'quintet' scene from "West Side Story" and adapted that general contrapuntal idea to this quintet scene much in the very same manner. It's a hilarious scaled down mini-me version of the Bernstein WSS masterpiece...
I love how South Park is the most unquie animated show because if most like simpsons or family there the same but south park. They are different with very offensive stuff but also music that anyonr can like
hehe yes music theory is fun! it's called a motif which means a musical tune (usually only a short melody, and sometimes is arranged to different keys or with slight alterations) that is played multiple times throughout a piece of media (movies mostly, but sometimes albums with themes, as well as video games, etc) to usually convey a similar or contrasting element of whatever is the focus of the scene. the play, peter and the wolf, kinda uses this method. because there is no talking, each of the characters have a specific set of instruments and tune associated with them. ex. the wolf is brass horns. im kinda rambling and idk where i'm going with this, but if you're interested, take a look at some music theory videos! it's a super interesting subject :]
Wendy's friend looks like Kenny.. this song is a masterpiece.. they all fit perfectly.. Daft Punk and Trey Parker are total geniuses at remixing their own songs together 👏👏👏👏👏
Quite fitting this song was titled "La Resistance" considering how it clearly is referencing the style of Lés Miserables! Tbh South Park may have a lot of crude humor, but there are some really clever references in there one wouldn't expect to find.
But Les Misérables takes place at the time of the second Great Revolution (La Révolution de Juillet), which has no link whatsoever with the Résistance. If you want, the link is that the Révolutionnaires and the Résistants fought against two forms of the Bourgeoisie domination (one capitalistic, the other fascist).

I really miss the older South Park. It had it's social commentary, to be sure, but it never felt like a crutch for the story, however absurd it was, just something that flowed naturally with it. Last few seasons have unfortunately started to seem geared the other way. Just got done playing The Fractured But Whole, and all I could think of was how much better I liked The Stick Of Truth. It was also the first time I felt like I was being beat over the head with the social commentary. Bring back the absurdism pl0x.
