Purandaradasar has scripted many kritis in Kannada in praise and glory of Lord Vishnu and His avatars. But he has written only a handful of songs in Sanskrit. Among them, the most popular one is this kriti on Lord Venkateswara.

He further glorifies Lord Vishnu as Purandara Vittala residing in his heart as the maker of everyone’s life and protector of cows, vedas, devas, earth and His devotees.
