Despite it being a joke, I actually really do like the idea with the gravestone mod where you have to fight your ghost to get your stuff back. It ensures that your things won't despawn so you have time to plan a way of getting it back or luring whatever killed you away without having to worry about your stuff disappearing because you weren't fast enough, but it comes with the trade off of having to fight to get it back each time you die. You would no longer rage quit because your stuff burnt in dragonfire, but instead rage quit because you keep dying to a version of yourself that can actually play.
Also, if you die with OP gear and your ghost now has it, it serves as a punishment as you now have to fight someone with said OP gear. If you have gear that strong, you shouldn't be dying in the first place, and you need to be punished for such a glaring skill issue.
