Hello! I own several Festool tools, and I own and have owned many other brand tools. There are three key aspects that Festool focuses on with their tools, Accuracy, Mobility and Dust extraction. There may be other tools that might equal, or even excel at one of these aspects, but very few if any can compete at all three on a given tool as Festool does. With this in mind, the only way to greatly reduce the weight of a power tool is to reduce the motor size (larger motors require more copper, simple fact) to what is enough for the intended purpose. As is the case with the TS-75 @ 12.56 lbs. vs the Skillsaw Sawsquatch @ 16.5 lbs. That is nearly a 4lbs. difference, making the Sawsquatch about 32% heavier. That difference in weight is considerable to many that would need to use and carry the saw. To others the power difference out weights the extra weight. That is why there are competitors in each market where you can choose depending on, cost, weight, power, and quality. It’s very difficult to hit all of these at once. I personally have chosen most of my Festool purchases for quality over cost (and yes, there are many other quality tools available) and weight over power. I have yet to be disappointed, I too would like my Kapex-120 to have the power my Bosch GCM12SD had, but it weighted 65 lbs. and my Kapex weighs 51 lbs., a 14lbs. difference, and that’s almost 28%, to me, and others that’s a lot of weight. So, I too understand also buying the Sawsquatch, to each their own need and preference. Chuck.
Thanks for the great comment! You are totally right - the Sawsquatch is a beast and if I had to lift all day I'd be shot. I mainly use to the saw to cut down large slabs so I can get them on my stationary machines. Like you said, really depends on your workflow what machine makes sense for you. Thanks again!
@@bakkenwoodworking6341 I appreciate your honest and informative review. I have a good friend that owns a local shop and is a Festool retailer. He came across a brand new (New old stock) TS-75 which is amazing since they have been sold out for months. I have been considering getting one for a while, so I didn't hesitate to buy it when he called. But as seldom as I plan to use it, the Sawsquatch would have been a more "practical" choice for both cost and purpose. But being practical is boring, and like you if I need more power, I'll get one. 😁 Just don't tell the wife!!!
The growl is the slip clutch and bearings. Perfectly normal sound in the machine. I have never been want for power with the TS75. I use Mafell for bigger saws and that makes the cost of Festival seem reasonable.
Yeah, im not a fan of the sound but know its normal for a Festool TS. I don't know, I used mine a long time, sold it for almost what I paid, and I haven't missed it a bit. Granted, I think it totally depends on the work you do. Thanks for watching and the great comment!
Thanks for the low key, informative video. Lots of information without someone yelling at me.
Haha, I know what you mean. Great to hear they are useful, thanks again for the kind comments and the sub!
Exorbitant price... Well said
Thanks appreciate your insight

Appreciate your candor
Thanks Rick and thanks for watching
Great info thx
Is the motor brushless like the new ts60?
Is the motor about the same power as a good circular saw?
Yeah I’d say unless your cutting real thick hardwood you will be all good. It will cut that also but just takes a bit more time.
