My Twiggy Blues arrived 2 days ago and I absolutely love it. Great bundle for playing blues and "chilling out" playing on a base. The sound is way different from the Rockstage's and probably the best move is buying both, so that you have more versatility (they are shipping my Rockstage in this moment). Great job as always and love your brit accent. xD PS: I have a PRS SE with Maple fretboard too (sapphire azure though) and is my main guitar! Great instrument!
From what I’ve heard of Dumbles (in full disclosure, I’ve never had the chance to play on one)., this thing comes damn close to the sound. Is it exact? No, but no two Dumble amps are the same; even Dumble couldn’t replicate one of his amps. Just as important, maybe more so to me, you are getting 4 of the key effects in one place for an excellent price. The effects are good on their own (just like the other SoniCake mini pedals). And it’s versatile; I play mostly Fenders (Teles, Strats, and Mustangs), a Gibson Melody Maker, and an Epiphone SG400 and LP. It works with all of them. Even my heavily modded Mustang. I use a Big Muff Op Amp, a Boss MT 2 and a CS three, and a Sonicake Cloud Chorus. If fairly easy to dial in the sounds, and if you like the Dumble sound, just leave the compressor and the overdrive “Blues (I keep the reverb on too). The Solid construction, and under $80 (I got mine brand new for $60)! A great,,especially if you’re like me, on a budget
I'm having great luck with these exceptionally cheap Chinese analogue multi fx pedals. The Mosky DTC is the best to date. Mine cost a shade under 30 quid and they are going as low as 20 on one local site at the moment. I may have ot get on of these, or the Ammoon Pockmon just to complete the set.
Cheaper than a single Boss pedal and you get 4 pedals plus cab sim if needed. Paired with a good amp this little thing will get you through the gig nice clean tight and outa sight.....fits in your gig bag . Like it . Great flyrig for $80. Whats not to like?
don't have a dumble but do have a fuchs ODS that uses the same overdrive approach. I havent found any box or other amp that captures the fuchs tone's touch sensitivity and controlled feedback.
I quite like the tone on that! I might look into picking one up. Perhaps by pairing it up with one of those tiny Class D power amplifiers, you could have the ultimate compact gig rig!
I've had this pedal for 6/7 weeks and for the money it can't be beat. But a Dumble it ain't, so that bit of the description is a bit OTT. Even the cheapest of individual pedals would cost more than this and then add the batteries on top. Well worth money !!
Nice mention of the wonderful NHS. I've had multiple operations and have to take large quantities of prescription meds, don't know what I'd have done without the NHS. Ironic that whilst were celebrating its 70th year it's gradually being dismantled, I really worry about what will happen to it. Right, off me soapbox, apologies mate! Impressive pedal, you get a lot for $80!
"Raising a glass to you and the NHS - long may you both remain in good health my friend! :-)" I became an alcoholic raising glasses to folks who owe their lives to NHS - Thank God for NHS they saved my life with a liver transplant! Hmmm, I think I'll celebrate my alcohol free quarter century by getting shit faced tonight! Thank God for OHIP! Free medical for all!! Wooohoooo!!! Jack - Canada
Thanks for the demo. Sounds great. I see the "cab sim" function, but is there ant sort of amp simulation going on, or it it just a dry / unaffected signal when each effect is off?
I knew some one that had an old Peavey pedal of some sort that sounded very much like Dumble ,the way it made the speaker break up, that kind of soft crackle. It's hard to explain but you know it if you hear it. I offered to buy from the guy but he wanted to keep it and rarely used it. I wish I could remember the model. The funny thing is that the guy had never heard of Dumble amps.
Try Peavey AOD-2 I remember it being orange. There is one demo on YT but he's using single coils, I was using humbuckers and a Peavey classic 30 amp. When I dial any pedals in I keep balance in mind, too many guitarist crank everything up. That's the only one I an find on the web.

The cheapest way to get the original Dumble sound is to buy early Kitty Hawk amps made by Roy. They imported the circuit boards and put them in their own combos. Later they copied the circuitry and Dumble was pissed off and started thick coating the circuit boards. Bought mine for 25€ cause the seller had no idea what´s inside lol. Anyway i am going to give this pedal a try.
Wow just checked out a few video demos of Kitty Hawk amps including the M1 combo. They sound killer man!!! I'll keep an eye out for one - unless anyone is selling one? Especially for 25€!!! :-)
But be aware they started extremely good (original Dumble boards, only ever licensed Dumble Distributor who was allowed to modify and repair them), till they made one series out of the cheapest components they could get, which instantly killed them. They copied Boogies too. And before that, they copied and slightly modified AC-30´s under the label Roy/Novatron --->awesome! Kitty Hawk revived some years ago, but it´s all about the old ones ;)
The circuits for the Kitty Hawk amps are more of a combination of part Dumble part Mesa Boogie. As they were also official importers and repairers for those as well. They did have some build quality issues, but by now all of the issues should have been worked out if you can find them second hand. I’m very happy with my Kitty Hawk Junior (which sounds very much like a Mesa mk1) and my Quattro preamp.
I have never played a Dumble amp and am pretty sure I never will so that part of the claim doesn't mean anything to me. On the other hand the effects sound good and the build quality looks solid so it seems like a nice purchase for anyone who doesn't have these effects in other pedals or wants to downsize into one compact unit. A bargain for sure.
Strange how they suggest that this has the $80k Dumble sound... because its pretty well known that each Dumble was developed for the specific purchaser and each one sounds different. Just a thought.
I've got one. Dumble? Absolutely no way. It is simply a just OK,very generic TS style OD. If you want something more Dumble-like get a Zendrive or The Dude.
I have both the Zendrive and The Dude. The Dude has never left my board. Does it sound/feel like an ODS? I don’t travel in circles where I have access to amps with value that could translate into the cost of a house, so I’ve no clue. But I do love The Dude. Now, I need to put some time in with the Zendrive. A Wampler Tumnus can add a lot of pixie dust when placed properly in your chain as well. (Would anyone care to purchase a much-hyped/ disappointing EHX Soul Food, another cheap “magic bullet” pedal?) As far as this unit goes, it’s a Tech 21 Fly rig with more pronounced mids. Since I automatically discount the reliability of “budget pedals,” I’d go with the Fly Rig instead, Lovely review, thank you - and I’m now a subscriber. Cheers!
The JHS mod of the cheap soul food actually covers a lot of ground. I travel with that one on my board. Dude’s equal with more flexibility. Josh got this right!
Oh dear, I wonder if others are having similar? I had just assumed that this video was of more interest than others but maybe it's just got notified to all my subs???
Why not look at it as an effect bar instead of dumble clone? just 4 effects in a row in small price. i cannot use mine when the overdrive tone is less than max (i hear it in your demo too). Overall i like my Sonicake and i like your demo too.
I titled it as I did because they claim the dumble tone and I wanted people to give me and Sonicake their honest opinion of how close it comes. Most people say not so but it doesn't matter to me, it has a usable and pleasing tone and feel direct through the desk. So glad you enjoyed it too mate. Thank you :-)
No many have mate, I've been getting an outline idea from you tube but the compression means I probably have no idea what it sounds like other than the players I mention that used them. I like the sound and subtlety of this unit :-)
I think it works very well and for the money it is a great system.I always had my thoughts by the original dumble Amplifier tutorials. It is too much overpriced. Great playing!!☯🎸☮🎼🎶👍👍🤘
I like it and think that for the money it is great value whichever way you look at it. Dumble - I'm not sure it get's as close as they would like to think but then everything needs a marketing angle. :-)
This unit may be useful to a beginner who doesn't want to invest in professional gear. Personally, I would have no use for this effects pedal. I certainly didn't hear anything close to a Santana tone. Comparing it to Dumble is a bunch of hype (imo). Cheers!
not entirely sure what a dumble sounds like but i'm pretty sure this ain't it lol. still not a bad deal i mean it's cheaper than a tube screamer and you get a couple extras.
Well some of us never had the privilege of playing through a Dumble btw the guy that builds those *outrageously expensive* amps is as wide as he is tall and obviously needs to sell expensive things to feed himself.
I like the unit. Price is pretty good considering that most pedals today cost 100 times more than they should. For 5 bucks in electrical components/chips etc and 5 bucks for the box these bandits are skinning you for 100 X the cost! Filthy animals! Jack - Canada
While many pedals have materials that cost $20 I doubt that the parts in a King of Tone pedal are cheap. Beyond that what you are paying for is the many hours spent reserching, Learning from modding and improving other pedals, time and again swapping components until you cross the diamond with the pearl and turn it on the world. If creating great pedals was easy and cheap the Chinese would have been making them half a century ago. All the Chinese are good at is stealing other peoples work and cranking out cheap substitutes. If you want the cheap substitutes go ahead and buy them but dont claim that the originators are thieves for doing all the hard work and selling it to people who actually are willing to pay for a quality device. I know you can buy dozens of $30 chinese dirt boxes but they wont be as good nor be as valued as many of the botique pedals.
I've only heard one Dumble and it had way too much treble and hair for my tastes. Maybe some sounded better than others? I'd never pay 100k for an amp even if I had more money than sense.
People aren't buying Dumbles for just the sound. They are buying them because they are rare amplifiers that have a very high level of collectibility and they happen to go up in value. A few years back, you could have gotten one for only $30K, so if the current price is $80K to $100K, then they've gone up in value. If they are being owned by famous musicians, that's what makes them worth even more money to a collector. When Carlos Santana passes away, if they put his up for auction, it'll probably go for a high price.
Dumble amps are for recording studios and Rock Stars. Dumple amp all have the sound, but they are custom made for the Guitarist so they all have a unique sound, just like fine wine. As for the pedal, I think it sounds great for what it is and just ordered one.
Dumble's suck! I hate those things. I was renting amps for a session in LA once and the guy kept insisting that I take this Dumble (I'd never heard of them). I got to the studio and turned that thing on and fell out laughing. I hated it. Good thing I also rented a Fender Pro Reverb, a Vibrolux, and a couple of others. Can you imagine, $80,000 for that crap?
Does it sounds like a Dumble ? No. Does it sound like even a half decent valve amp ? No. It sounds like most of the cheap 10W combos with built in effects. OK for a beginner on a tight budget but not really much use for anyone who plays outside their bedroom
It doesn't sound bad to me. I'm not going to sell. My 59 twin. So I could buy it but it sounds good to me.iim not not into all that sound hope anywaus.i know what about my twinfight.well I'll explain that to yas.it belonged to my dad whom bought it new and was a steel guitar player. For. Many many years. Played lots of showers locale here back in the 860s with the big names as part of the cover band when they wouldn't. Bring there compleat bands with them on the road .some of the people I Remember.seeingwere Mel tilling Jim Reaves Roy Drucker, Grampian Jones many many more to name a few. But this sounds ok to me.
it sounded a bit dull and empty. and certainly its not guitar or players fault, for 80 bucks its a cool gift for someone but i didnt take this with me for a gig, if my budget was 80 bucks, probably i would search on craigslist for some pedal alone, but nice video
I'm not one of those morons that sends " first " as if it means something other than the fact that they are of subnormal and limited thought. I'm only sending this so that they can't. On the subject of the Sonicake, I have never heard a Dumble so I wouldn't know how close it emulates it. It doesn't sound too clever though, It's okay but I can get all these sounds from my Stomplab, that cost a third of the price . t
OK fair do's if you feel that then cool it's not for you but I have been pretty happy with the tone and the way it has inspired me to play. Maybe that's just because I'm cheap too!! :-) LOL
Go to the mirror hold up hands what do you see. FINGERS TEN effects pedals right there for free available all the time no batteries or transformers needed.effect pedals are for 12 year olds or insecure people. Not needed at all. WHY HAV WE BEEN BRAINWASHED INTO THINKING WE NEED EFFECTS PEDALS. EASY because someone makes money out of selling them. Lets see compression makes everything louder, so good i wont have to use the volume button on my amp to do that. Slap back gets old very quickly. Ooh air, free last time i checked. Blues, youre kidding right, as useful as a third thumb on a valve amp. Oooh noisy dc plug, go0die goodie now i can listen to noise and hiss. Multitude of plugs to plug in, keep it simple stupid. Another useless pedal to get in the way worry about and wreck, forget, get pinched. Cabinet simulation, here’s a thought, get a cabinet you wont have to simulate. N0eone wants to make love to a simulated woman do they.
I've just bought the Sonicake boom Ave for bass and I'm loving it
Awesome!

Thank you so much - seems we are gear twins at the minute. Such a great combination the SE is a truly great guitar!! :-)
I just got my sonicake twiggy blues today. Can't wait to play with it. Thank you for your video
You're most welcome. I've done the rock stage and black hammer too. Gonna do some more soon brother.
Cool tones, pure & easy - very well & gentle played.... Thanks very much! Sounds awsome, so far :)
Thank you :-)
The lighted mini knobs are a nice touch and not cheap.
Excellent demo showing the variety of tones the Sonicake Twiggy Blues offers for a very reasonable price.
Thanks for the review, it’s always exciting to see new guitar tech.
Thank you buddy :-)

yeah i think if you had the strat youd have it! Dumble tone goes to town on the strat, shines well. Thanks! I'm going to look more into this pedal!
I think this and my PJIV will suit my big needs......great video!
Thank you very much in glad it was useful and you enjoyed it. 👍😎
don't have a dumble but do have a fuchs ODS that uses the same overdrive approach. I havent found any box or other amp that captures the fuchs tone's touch sensitivity and controlled feedback.
Nice lil mini board loads of great tones... I'd purchase one
Cool mate, glad you enjoyed it :-)
I quite like the tone on that! I might look into picking one up. Perhaps by pairing it up with one of those tiny Class D power amplifiers, you could have the ultimate compact gig rig!
Nice idea too!! :-)
I've had this pedal for 6/7 weeks and for the money it can't be beat. But a Dumble it ain't, so that bit of the description is a bit OTT.

Couldn't agree more mate :-)
Great job again! I like to play clean but this my be interesting to. Expand on some tunes! Rock On!
Raising a glass to you and the NHS - long may you both remain in good health my friend! :-)
Thank you, and the same for you, take care!

Yeah, without going to political and hijacking this post, thank you DJT.

Thanks for the demo. Sounds great. I see the "cab sim" function, but is there ant sort of amp simulation going on, or it it just a dry / unaffected signal when each effect is off?
Sounded pretty good. Will be intrigued to hear how it does through the Dark Terror. Rock on bro!
I'll try to do that soon so you don't have to wait too long however I probably just jinxed myself :-) Rock on !!!!
I wish you could remember the model too as I would love to demo one! :-)
Since you brought it up yourself, the NHS is in very serious staffing and financial trouble.
I am glad they were able to help you. However, the future of the NHS is uncertain.
We all need to support the NHS through deed and voting. Agree totally bro

I agree and look forward to putting this to good use. It's already inspired me to pick up the g-tar more regularly than I have of late :-)
Sounds good. Cant argue with the price can you!!!!
The links you have posted however state that the seller doesn't post to the uk????
Thanks for letting me know. That was a bit silly of them wasn't it. Anyhow there are a few more cheaper links now. :-)
So how will it sound or mix with the Rockstage. That'll be a good experiment for a future video
It's coming...
"small and works well" Hmmm where have I heard that before?
Jack - Canada
Hi Jack! Hope you're well mate 👍😎
Wow just checked out a few video demos of Kitty Hawk amps including the M1 combo. They sound killer man!!! I'll keep an eye out for one - unless anyone is selling one? Especially for 25€!!! :-)
Check this out - great player too!! : ua-cam.com/video/F9hhVrvQIY0/v-deo.html
But be aware they started extremely good (original Dumble boards, only ever licensed Dumble Distributor who was allowed to modify and repair them), till they made one series out of the cheapest components they could get, which instantly killed them. I had a kitty hawk quattro valve preamp for a while. Was a very nice unit, but was too 80s sounding for me. Definitely worth looking for though
Cheers Rick, I hope all is well with you mate. Long time no chat. Catch up soon with some more photos buddy.
Happy Birthday NHS :)
$80??man thats a great sounding pedal.i get the dumble thing on the solo tones maybe but great floor unit.
Cheers man 👍🙂
Good video. I liked the unit and just ordered one. Good job! I can sell a lot of my pedals now :-)!
Glad you liked it mate :-)
Sounds really good!
Sounds very usable to me
I like it
Sounds very nice!
Sounds good! Might have to get one soon!
Very good mate :-)
Thanks brother, well done and thanks for sharing!
My pleasure bro :-)
Strange how they suggest that this has the $80k Dumble sound... because its pretty well known that each Dumble was developed for the specific purchaser and each one sounds different. Just a thought.
I've got one. Dumble? Absolutely no way. It is simply a just OK,very generic TS style OD. If you want something more Dumble-like get a Zendrive or The Dude.
OK I might give them a try if they are that good as I love this one so goodness knows how much I might like them...
I have both the Zendrive and The Dude. The Dude has never left my board. Does it sound/feel like an ODS? Lovely review, thank you - and I’m now a subscriber. Cheers!
Absolutely correct. The Simble isn't bad either.
Jeff Moga The Dude is an amazing pedal. I have it on my board for slide guitar.
The JHS mod of the cheap soul food actually covers a lot of ground. I travel with that one on my board. Dude’s equal with more flexibility. Josh got this right!
the compressor doesnt sound the best,,,,, but i assume a amp head would help dial the signal
Thanks for a cool, in depth video! Great job CGS! Wierd... I haven't been getting notifications about your videos though I should!
Be sure to check you have the bell icon clicked buddy 👍😊. Thanks for your support.
Chinaguitarsceptic oh yeah, I always have the bell selected for my favorite guitar channels! Its weird, perhaps a UA-cam glitch!
Oh dear, I wonder if others are having similar? I had just assumed that this video was of more interest than others but maybe it's just got notified to all my subs???
I think it might also depend what type amp you use with this thing. I am curious about this thing. $80 is cheap.
Very cheap and I will be doing an amp demo next buddy :-)
So where’s the Dumble. It sounded well worth the spare change or less than 1 gig price and yes I am pedal poor too.
Yes but does it work well through a Marshall stack :-) ?
Now that I have to try. It's high time I got the JCM 800 in the studio!!!
Well, maybe not a Dumble, but still several nice effects pedals in one box for $71 ain't bad!
Can't go wrong buddy:-)
The overdrive seems too compressed and a little too muddy. Still not bad for $80
It cleans up beautifully when trimming back the volume pot.
Why not look at it as an effect bar instead of dumble clone? just 4 effects in a row in small price. i cannot use mine when the overdrive tone is less than max (i hear it in your demo too). Overall i like my Sonicake and i like your demo too.

OK ... I"m impressed.. and I'm not a box fan for the most part.
Me too Im with you all the way as I rarely use anything other than the tube amp.
never heard a Dumble in real life but this sounds pretty good
No many have mate, I've been getting an outline idea from you tube but the compression means I probably have no idea what it sounds like other than the players I mention that used them. I like the sound and subtlety of this unit :-)
Blaine Ludeman I've seen David Lindley and el Rayo-X, 5 times, he was using dumble, damn good sounding amp. Especially for slide guitar!
Honestly I thought it sounds like $80 :>
OK fair enough mate. What did you listen on because I think it sounds much better than break even value?>
that's because it should be through amp
@@wallyandthegators I does sound good through an amp, I did a demo of it on my channel through a Dumble clone and it sounds awesome
Hi There, If I can get one of these for UNDER $80 bucks in New Zealand (Auckland) I'll buy one,,, let me know,,,, Regards,,,,,, Gib
I'm thinking you should be able to. I don't know about shipping costs though??
So what would be the address or would it be easier through you,,,,,Gib
I got one for $50.00 on eBay... Brand new..
I think it works very well and for the money it is a great system.I always had my thoughts by the original dumble Amplifier tutorials.
It is too much overpriced.
Great playing!!☯🎸☮🎼🎶👍👍🤘
Thanks mate. 👍☺️
Sounds good Mike, DOES it sound LIKE a Dumble? NO idea! Certainly a usable floor unit!
\m/
Cheers DMSP. :-)
:o)
Ok, what are your thoughts
I like it and think that for the money it is great value whichever way you look at it. Dumble - I'm not sure it get's as close as they would like to think but then everything needs a marketing angle. :-)
excellent, thank you. I checked out the amazon listing and all but one review were positive. I love the blues sound.
Pretty nice gadget for the price
I agree :-)
Around 15:40 Great Dumble od tones to my ears.
I'd rather have Nik from Ceriatone make me a Dumble for 1500.
Can he do that? 👍☺️
Chinaguitarsceptic check out his website, there are several popular modifications and his original version which is widely regarded as a good clone
If I'm not mistaking a lot the Dumble amp's PreAmp circuits are potted (Filled with Expoxy) making a real pain to reverse engineer.
Love Sonicstage gear!! For the price it has to be the best bang for buck out there.
I'm beginning to think so :-)
Well some of us never had the privilege of playing through a Dumble btw the guy that builds those *outrageously expensive* amps is as wide as he is tall and obviously needs to sell expensive things to feed himself.
I like the unit. Price is pretty good considering that most pedals today cost 100 times more than they should. For 5 bucks in electrical components/chips etc and 5 bucks for the box these bandits are skinning you for 100 X the cost! Filthy animals!

@@9999plato lol sorry mate but the fod 3 is just as good as any ts for a fraction lol
no sound is worth 80,000
"no sound is worth 80,000"
I'd pay double that not to hear the sound my wife makes. I guess that reinforces your statement!

Dumble amps are for recording studios and Rock Stars. Dumple amp all have the sound, but they are custom made for the Guitarist so they all have a unique sound, just like fine wine.
As for the pedal, I think it sounds great for what it is and just ordered one.
It sounds ok, but it takes up a lot of space on a pedal board.
Unless it's all you use. It would be for me as I never use pedals just straight through a tube amp for me usually.
Wait...."creamy" overdrive?.....Hmmph!
Sounds gooey....Beeyulck!

Take that $80 and use it toward a Zendrive and a Blues Jr.
Sounds quite pleasing to me. About the only things that's got me off the drums and back onto my guitar in a while :-)
Love the tones.
Cheers I do too :-)
Let me be the 1st to say great review
I like it!
Cheers brah :-)
it sounded a bit dull and empty. and certainly its not guitar or players fault, for 80 bucks its a cool gift for someone but i didnt take this with me for a gig, if my budget was 80 bucks, probably i would search on craigslist for some pedal alone, but nice video
Your driving me to bankruptcy$80 bucks at a time.
Sorry mate, join me in the GAS station. :-)
nothing like a dumble I own three and no synthetic processor can imitate the true analog Dumble sounds NOTHING!
tonebridge sound much better to me
It's free. Let's see the guts!
I can do that for ya!
sorry but that does not sound like a DUMBLE
Don't be sorry friend, I didn't say it did, it was a question for you to answer and you have :-)
I'm not one of those morons that sends " first " as if it means something other than the fact that they are of subnormal and limited thought.
I'm only sending this so that they can't.
On the subject of the Sonicake, I have never heard a Dumble so I wouldn't know how close it emulates it.
It doesn't sound too clever though, It's okay but I can get all these sounds from my Stomplab, that cost a third of the price .
t
Sorry all comments held as I won't have bad language on my comments or channel. Sorry buddy but not quite first.
+Chinaguitarsceptic yes, but alu-mini-um? just kidding, I know the Brits say that. :)
Serious ?
Just sounds like any old multi effects pedal to me SORRY
0
Sorry fat thumb!
LOL
I personally wouldn't buy it
more like a mumble
Sounds like every cheap guitar pedal . Cheap!
OK fair do's if you feel that then cool it's not for you but I have been pretty happy with the tone and the way it has inspired me to play. Maybe that's just because I'm cheap too!! :-) LOL
fake accent dude, I've heard better
Sounded flat and lifeless. Absolutely no depth to the tone at all.
I wasn't impressed.
I guess it's hard to expect something to sound 1000 times the price. If its not a dumble tone it's very a useable tone.
Very generic tones.
N0eone wants to make love to a simulated woman do they.
love your channel but socialism sucks
