- In this episode, I ride my motorcycle to Kakum National Park in Ghana. After a 45 minute hike through the jungle, I reach the canopy bridges. What an amazing experience to walk over the 7 bridges across the canopy and hearing the monkeys and jungle sounds. I then spend the night in a treehouse, surrounded by more jungle sounds..

Nothing against the documentaries that "National Geographic" or the "Discovery" channel make, but when you watch Norly's videos, you really do get a much better idea of what different countries and their people are like.
I think it is because she in not dragging a small army of support personnel behind her. Her 'foot print' is literally two feet.
100% agree. this is amazing and so educational to watch. Simpler is better and most important no media bias or predetermined narrative. The money, advertisers, etc for big production often comes with political and other limitations. Peace!

So, I lived in a rural part of Ghana for a few years and the reason why they play the music so loud is because back in the day not many people had access to radios/music and in Ghanaian culture community is HUGE and when someone has something it is very rude to not share it. So in the case of music it is played loud so other who can't afford it or don't have access to it can still "enjoy it". Plus it makes it much easier to locate the Spot (aka the bars)😂

That was special. To be able to stay in pristine rainforest like that - very few have had the privilege. Reminds me how much we need to care for the planet.
It is truly wonderful, yes. There is a place called Langouie bai in Ivindo n.p. in Gabon where it is difficult to sleep because...the elephants trumpet to one another all night. Believe me...louder than the bugs 🤬🐘
Have lived in Africa my whole life - born in Kenya moved through Tanzania snd finally in South Africa - yet Ghana are the most welcoming of all what a lovely culture you always treated as an equal no racism no chips on the shoulder - great place

My daughter did her gap year in Ghana in around 2003. She taught English in a school and lived with a Ghanaian family. Had a wonderful time, though she wouldn't eat rice for ages after she came back. Apparently she had it every single day as part of her meal. 1st world problems 😄 She went to this tree top walk ( or one similar) with a group of other young people doing the same thing. As she is scared of heights she crawled along the bridges on her hands and knees and cried the whole way around. Apparently the locals were laughing at her as she cling to the trees at the end of each section. She still hates heights to this day, however, she has great memories of Ghana.

😂😂😂😂, I sometimes get confused as to whether Ghanaians are chines or perhaps we and the chines are twins, Ghanaians and rice and now spa or indomie added up is like monkeys and their bananas, we have other local dishes to be enjoyed only if its cooked well though, just that most people love the rice factor..........if you are fed up with rice, then, come along with your local dishes to enjoy our country....... I cease this opportunity to join all the Ghanaians on this channel to say, you out there at any corner of this world, you are welcome to our Country, get in touch with the right people, and you will love it all.....

Yes, that was awesome. I was thinking about how easy it might be, to get lost, trying to fly the drone back, since everything looks like it disappears below the trees.
Nah, destrøying the trees is a hårríbłe kr - lots of precious trees were fełłed to make some pøintłs bridges and tree houses that shouldn’t have been made at all, pfff, hüm’ns shouldn’t even be ałwd close to forests / grasses / flowers etc who are sacred and pure beings (only reflecting me the pure being) and should have always been protected from hüm’ns! I actually watched it with the Dutch sub and for the Dutch sub, as I’m trying to get to a native speaker level in Dutch - at least I learned 5 new Dutch words from the video! It seems like in Dutch both centipedes and millipedes are referred to as a duizendpoot - but there should definitely be a term for the actual centipede like honderdpoot, because duizendpoot is technically the millipede!
A few years back, my best friend disappeared for his 35th birthday. None of us could find him that day. Apparently he flew to Ghana and spent the night in the tree top cottage. It was so noisy it seems he could never sleep. He did all his sleeping on the plane back home. Ghanian jungles are definitely worthy of a bucket list item. Thanks again for the excellent drone footage.👍

I visited Ghana in May and did the canopy walk at Kakum. It is not for the faint of heart. 😂 Lovely country and people.

Great movie! I worked in Ghana for a month in 1999 on an arsenic study and while there visited Kakum National Park. The people there are terrific and I have many fond memories of Ghana.

English is a national language so its easy to travell
In my 74 years, I have participated in quite a few risky and somewhat dangerous sports/hobbies. Having said that, I don’t know if I would have the confidence, guts, and determination to travel the world solo, esp in some of the remote and dangerous areas you travel. You are one brave person and a real inspiration. I love your videos and narration.
74 as well and likewise risked life and limb. Lived and worked Arctic, flew bush airplanes and in the military, hiked many dangerous areas. That said, I would love to travel to areas like West Africa but afraid of catching a food borne, water borne or insect borne disease. Getting sick without nearby healthcare would likely finish me off.
The risk you're talking about don't exist Sir. You as a tourist with a different skin ,not only white but the black American skin ,you're more safe than myself as an African. These places are so safe. There's a few countries that are unsafe maybe because of their politics but most are so safe❤

You @@Africanvillageactivities assume by dangerous I am referring solely to people being dangerous. You will find bad people anywhere in the world and many will take advantage of travelers, as Noraly described when she was shaken down by "dirty cops". But danger also comes from riding solo through hundreds of miles of desert; from riding through areas alone populated with animals that can attack; from breaking down many miles away from any help. So "dangerous areas" can be almost anywhere when you're traveling alone, whether it refers to geography or population. For the most part, the people she has encountered on this trip have been wonderful.

to be fair to Jamaicans/ African Americans who have decedents from the slave trade. its very hard for them to know their African roots because of the lack of counting from where they got their slaves from. making it very difficult/impossible for them to know their heritage.

I will never forget my canopy walk at Kakum National Park, the fresh coconut milk, stomping after crossing fire ants to make sure none crawled up my pant leg, my "1 Non-Ghanaian" badge, and lots and lots of sweat. ❤

I have also visited Kaum National Park and the canopy bridges. It is beautiful, only exceeded by the beauty of the peoples of Ghana!
Flying the drone while walking that bridge must have been more challenging than flying it while riding the bike. Amazing! Also must have been quite tricky to land it among all branches, ropes, tree trunks and all that - takes some skill. 👍

The newer and better dji drones have obstacle and collision avoidance built in. That's why she is capable of making awesome videos.
Yes she is on her A-game with the drone. Noraly explained in recent interview at the ABS festival that she fly's drone in manual mode. I always wrongly "assumed" to get those great shots while on her bike she used an auto tracking feature, but no, she uses manual control and explained why. Great respect for her skills. Peace!

I am a Ghanaian and I love your content - travelling diaries with Alaska through Ghana will take forever in Ghana. I would recommend Mole National Park, however, it is found at the Northern part of Ghana.
I don't know, but I wonder whether that is a bit too close to Burkino Faso & an Islamist insurgency for comfort...
@@fat_biker I understand your concern. There's alot of speculations around these topics. I have personally been to Mole National Park 3 times and haven't witnessed any of these issues.
@@kwakuopoku-ware6015 MNP is a great place, i agree. however i think for now, Noraly should stay around the middle belt and southern Ghana. Mole Nat Park is close to Burkina Faso. In fact you can literally transit from the park, cross a hippo river into Burkina. the residents in both countries within the catchment of the river are relatives. they crossover daily.....no visa, no questions asked.....the border is the river. about 500 meters on each side of the banks is no man's land.

However, I respectfully disagree with your statement that people "cross a hippo river into Burkina Faso." That appears to be inaccurate. As you can verify on Google Maps, Mole National Park is quite far from the Ghana-Burkina Faso border. You raise a fair point that it may make more strategic sense for Noraly to focus their efforts in southern and middle Ghana for now. I'm sure Noraly's team is considering many factors as they plan their expansion, including safety, infrastructure, partnerships and more. There are noisy bugs known as cicadas, about 100db... Beautiful drone shots of the canopy. Impressive and scary running the drone while walking across a narrow, swaying bridge, missing the other obstacles that you encounter in-flight. As a boy scout, I built many rope bridges but never using planks... Thank you for taking us along!

That was a very nice looking breakfast at the stilt village. Noraly, the muddy road you decided to take that was so devastating was a brand new road that had not been developed or prepared for use. That was the problem. Thank You! to the people of Kakum National Park for allowing you to bring breathtaking pictures of the rope suspension bridges up in the canopy to the world. To stay in "The" Tree House costs 70 Cedis *(CD's) or $14 USD, per night and it includes a guide who stays the night. What a find Noraly. Even though it rained, a very nice ride from the stilt village to the national park! The swinging bridges are fantastic! The views of the area are beautiful and the aerial views are amazing. The insects singing in the night was an incredible closure for today’s adventure! Ride safe Noraly!

Noraly, I’ve been following your adventures for several seasons now. And while I enjoy the sights, it’s the people you meet that really interest me. And the thing that impresses me most about the people is this. It doesn’t matter where we live, or how we live - we are all still just people. Your work is proof we can all live together peacefully and respectfully. And we can help each other when necessary and seem to have an innate desire to do so. In a way, you’re restoring an old guy’s faith in our shared humanity. Safe travels as always.

They can be, I live 30km from the Volta and a ride of 45minutes turned in 3½ hrs due to flooding of the roads. It's been exceptionally wet this year.
So happy for Noraly that she had a day of dry roads in such a beautiful ride!
For some reason I imagined that africa was mostly brown and sandy. But boy is it green! Really nice drone footage high above the trees.

This day at the office was an amazing destination. I loved the walk to the treehouse and the bridges between trees. Talk about a birds eye view eh.

As a Ghanaian biker I would recommend Mole National Park (in the north), Akosombo, and Ada to visit, if you have time. A part of the road to Akosombo has a bit where baboons come out of the forest to cross the road and walk alongside it, it’s that way for a couple of kilometres, you’d love it. Akosombo itself has nice mountain roads that are fun to ride on. I’ve never been to Nzulezu myself, and I think this is the most comprehensive vlog of the place I’ve seen on UA-cam. Following all your adventures, keep up the good work 👍🏿
