To those of you thanking me for this video, you're welcome, but really, thank my mom. Many of the videos I post from the 1980s are from my mom's VHS videotape collection. I found this Debbie Allen/Phylicia interview on one of my mom's old tapes. When my mom passed away in 2005, I got all of her old VHS tapes, and she taped a lot of TV programs, lol. My mom's birthday was just a couple days ago, Nov. 14th. Mom would be happy that people are enjoying videos that she taped lol, but she didn't live long enough to know anything about UA-cam.
RestlessRick Aw, sorry to here about your mom. May she continue to RIP 🙏🏾 Yes, we are enjoying this footage. I dm’ed this to Debbie Allen but she hasn’t responded back yet. I didn’t see the “seen” icon so I don’t think she saw it. Hopefully she sees it soon. Usually she’ll repost whatever someone dm’s her in her ig stories.
@@LilHelena That would be pretty cool if Debbie Allen watched this video. It was so long ago, she probably has forgotten about it, haha. Definitely let me know if Debbie responds back. The video should bring back good memories for Debbie & Phylicia. This is one of my favorite videos that I have posted to UA-cam because I love the interaction between the 2 sisters. Also, thanks for your response about my mom. Take care!
Awwww thank you & your mother for her recorded videos. Little did she know many people around the world would be watching and enjoying her videos. May she rest in love🙏🏽💕
@Rodney Norman You're welcome, and thanks for the nice comment about mom. Also, sorry for the much delayed response. Anyway, I'm always on the lookout for old classic video footage...when I find more, I will post it here.
May God bless your amazing mother and you for doing such a beautiful interview!
"Don't try it, I'm in suede and silk!" 😆
She was saying it even back then! And on the Stevie Wonder episode, she emphasized that "BAYBEEEEEE"🤣🤣🤣
@@candiceallen5304 the people at the office will never BELIEVE this onnnnneeee!!!
That "Don't try it!" in the beginning from Auntie Phylicia reminds me of my great aunties and their phone conversations and their witty and clever phrases that tickled me as a child. Phylicia and Debbie are legendary and regal and elegant and I love them.
Phylicia Rashad is one of the most gorgeous women I've ever seen. Even at 74 years old today...she's still gorgeous. 😍😍

I would love to see a film about this family growing up in the 1960s
I love the Ayers-Allen sista's. Sing, dance, act & produce. There's nothing they can't accomplish.
Strangely, the mother named one daughter Allen and the other Ayers-Allen.
@@travelseatsyellowlab No that's incorrect, Phylicia decided to pay homage to her mother whose maiden name is Ayers.
😂😂I loooove them!! They're soo playful. They make me want a sister.
Nah, after 5 minutes you will want to beat her azz! You got to get them and train them right because that first time they refuse to do what you ask them it's on and Poppin😁 They look up to you until they decide you're not their mother nor are you their boss, or you hurt their feelings real bad.
They have a great relationship...so awesome!! Beautiful
123CREATIONS bernadette stanis is more beautiful then phylicia even though phylicia is beautiful!!!
Do what???? What does Thelma/Bernadette Stanis have to do with this clip??!!!
I absolutely agree. I was admiring their relationship. Not many family members have that kind of sibling love relationship. Its very beautiful to see.

This is natural beauty no fake hair ,eyes cheecks etc the definition of real black beautifully made women 🌷🌷♥️❤️💓💙🧡🧡💓❤️🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷💜
I wish this were still the popular ideal. Natural Beauty. Somebody lied and told our women we didn't want them natural anymore, that we wanted everything about them to be artificial. That was a lie.
I love them so much. Amazing talented sisters. Their Mama was blessed.
FaceTiming in the 80s!!!
Awwwww😍👑Royalty
Mazuri Mbangatha esther rolle and bernadette stanis are more beautiful and iconic!!!

Women in this era>Women today. The grace, elegance and beauty of these incredible women was on full display and the man hosting was a gentlemen

Shawaka Fatima bernadette stanis is more iconic then phylicia rashad!!!

fine fine black queens
This was dope
So elegant and radiant
Regal Queens💯👑🔥
Beautiful & graceful. Love them💕
What most people don't know is Ms Allen and her Sister Ms Rashad are two of the most powerful civil rights activities in America. They literally have fought and won some very important decisions over the past 50 years. They are truly my sheroes! PEACE, LOVE AND BLESSING TO THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES.
Before Phylicia's surname was Rashad, it was Ayers-Allen.
I wonder why the mother named one daughter Allen and the other Ayers-Allen.
@@travelseatsyellowlabsome southern families would give the oldest daughter the mothers maiden name as well to keep it alive
Absolutely beautiful; i already knew that if i ever had a wife i would like for her to be just like Ms. Huxtable beautiful, smart, and successful; but now to add another one; maan that is just GIRL POWER. VERY, VERY BEAUTIFUL BOTH OF THEM; WITH ALL DUE RESPECT. PURA VIDA.
Wow. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Obviously their dad was a dentist. Look at their teeth
Perfect right?
So beautiful
I've always found that siblings that describe themselves as friends aren't really as close as they may appear. It's an odd way to describe your brother or sister if you love them. Most of us love our siblings harder than that. In the same way that your parents are not your "friends", neither are your siblings. Your siblings will be there when all your "friends" have come and gone in life. Your sister takes the heat for you, protects you, checks you, and would take a bullet for you. That's not to imply that siblings relationships don't have fragilities but blood is thicker than friendship water people.
I love them 😍
My girls 💙💛
❤❤❤
Good role models for young ladies (girls) trying to find their "possibilities."
Allen is the cute little sister and Rashad the beautiful big sister.
wow.. gorgeous!
Agreed phylicia is beautiful her and bernadette (the sister on the black 1970s sitcom good times) are the most beautiful black actresses and women in the industry!!!!
Black don't crack
Ok, I'm confused.....Debbie calls her "Felicia', he calls her "Felicia", but we now have to say "PHIL-icia' ?
I call people what they wish to be called no questions asked just out of respect...sometimes show business people change the pronunciation, spelling and even the entire given name.
Phylicia is actually how you pronounce her name but I guess because people pronounce her name as “Felicia” she just let them call her “Felicia” 🤷🏽♀️
Fresh out of Houston
ok so, Sanaa and Regina before Sanaa and Regina
If most American black parents raised their children the way these ladies' mother raised them, black people would be unstoppable. Not a single word of "victimization" froths from their speech or mannerism. Just imagine.
You do realize they actually grew up during legal segregation right? Debbie Allen was originally rejected from the Houston ballet because of her skin colour in 1962. It’s just so disgusting how you guys want to pretend that all of this stuff happened a long time ago. They literally had to fight through horrific racism to get to where they are. But you wanna pretend like as if people are lazy or some thing. Maybe if you actually change the environment, less children would grow up without fulfilling their potential. Why do black kids have to work harder just to have mediocre lives? Why do you guys have to ruin every single video with your constant blaming of Black people?
I can say the same about white folk living below the poverty line and or white folk who blame everyone else for their lack of success
It doesn't matter how 'beautiful' a woman is, if she's not obedient and easy to live with and obedient to her husband loving her husband, it doesn't matter -- she'll just be left 'out there' for everyone to 'run through', no matter 'who' the woman is, it's just the truth.
❤❤❤
This might be the first Zoom call in 1985🤣🤣
