Cool video. I live in Michigan and went to Chicago a couple times a year for over 20 years. I knew that I-94 exit, at Napier, before I even saw the signs.
@@Michelle-zz7no we had friends that lived right by 94 off of Scottdale road, and we'd always stop by for tea and a rest. My brother and I were too young to drive and my mother always hated driving. Driving from south central Michigan was always too long for her to do at once. We'd always stop on the way to Chicago and back. When traveling towards Ch-town I knew that that was the time to start watching for the exist we needed. I also have always loved Charles Napier, the actor, so when I saw Charles Napier on the credits on "The Blues Brothers" I said, quietly, "hey there's a road by that name by Lake Michigan. A couple people in the theater laughed. Yes, I saw that movie, in the theater as a kid, and have loved it to this day. I've always loved maps. Growing up in Europe, we'd drive all over the French Alps, camping in our car, heading to Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, and also England where we went a few times. I was the map guy. I still love them. My parents loved having me in the backseat, since I would always find our exit, turn, town, campground, long before we got there. Though I haven't driven in decades, I always point out exists to my friends, and they get annoyed. I try to stop but it's totally ingrained in me. I don't know if genetics work like that but both my parents say they did the same. It's a habit that annoys my friends but it's so ingrained in my head from my childhood, that it's very hard to not do it. Just like knocking on a bathroom door even though I know on-one is in there. Being the oldest of 5, with 2 sisters, I learned from a young age to knock, every single time.
@@thephantomeagle2 were we raised by the same family??? Lol. I was always designated map reader/driver! It’s just about 90 minutes to get to Chicago from here. My daughters and I use to go a lot. It’s close enough that we usually just did day trips. So funny you mentioned Scottsdale Road! I was just on it today!! I really love Michigan. We’re very close to Lake Michigan!
Cool video, I do drink Hold Peak Tea. We first had it at the County Fairgrounds during our Fiesta Days ( formerly the Navajo Trails Fiesta, another name for it was; The Spanish Trails Fiesta,) at The Chuck Wagon Cook off. That was nearly eleven years ago, if I am remembering correctly. God Bless You. As always, safe travels. 👍👍✌️.
Well, here we are again John, this video was in my recommended. Back in the algorithm again I see and look at those views now! WOW!!! 2.3 MILLION views.
Good trucking brother. Some people who do this for “fun” apparently don’t get that most truckers drive what gets the job done. If an auto gets its done with less stress so be it. I can drive my car at home for fun, but at work just get the job done.
Holy Smokies JBG!!!! LOL!!! You really gotta post this one up again for all of us that weren't here 6 years ago. Today is May 6th, 2020 during the Covid-19 Virus and Shutdown. This was Great!!
Ha minute made was my first load ever to haul years ago when i got hired on with cr england.. i hated those seal safes so much.. now i do flatbed and not worry about seals lol
I love the Auto Kenworths Manual Shiftting I am really over it, not once in my whole trucking career have I ever used a CAT scale or added Air To my tires or have ever been pulled in for a inspection.
Hi whats your recommendation for a USA wide Truck satnav.I'm in the Uk Moving to the USA next year and our satnavs don't work over there...(Snooper Truckmate)
2 things I need in my car. A powered seat that moves all over the place An airhorn that you can pull a cord (and I seem to be missing lots of dash gadgets and screens) OH and a spoon.
Hi JBG. Just out of curiosity, doesn't the truck ride better if the weight is evenly distributed? For instance, if the axles are all legal, let's say an even 12,000 lbs on the steer, but say you have got 31,000 lbs on the drives, and say 33,500 lbs on the trailer axles... Even though it's legal, wouldn't you want to slide the tandems back a few holes so that the drives and the trailer's are just about the same?
Thanks again for another GREAT video - By the way is your truck automatic ? I wasn't sure if the big rigs were auto - Best Wishes Bridget (New Zealand)
I’m binge watching all JBGS vids

By sliding them from the back to the front how does that affect her turn and backing radius
This was strangely relaxing.
Do you wanna pull the horn?...Captain pulls the horn lol
Forgive my ignorance, what's the point of moving the tandems? Weight distribution?
Howard fast you put your seatbelt,🤣🤣🤣, i do it also🤣🤣🤣
view from south africa...thank you jonnhy
Hello there mike
How do you know when its required to slide the tandems? Does the company let you know?
